seriously. it usually takes me until friday, to shake the loss off and get ready for the game.
i expect an epic beat down. and in true raider form, lamb will return from his concussion and go for 100+ and 2 tds

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we should all be thankful that we won’t have to watch Lamb and Cooper play catch with Dez. We don’t need a double helping of Grudens asinine personnel decisions. Hopefully the team can back on track this offseason and we will have a competitive team in three years.

Ferrell's tackle on special teams in the first half was darn impressive. Big guy moving that fast has to be terrifying for the returner.
I really appreciate how hard he efforted on that play. He'll likely never be a big time player but that doesn't mean he can't have a strong second act.

Not random. It’s the Raiders…
same as that tackling too hard call on 3rd down before Mixons 1st TD last week. Saw heaps of other teams do exactly the same thing but we were the only one flagged for it

The officiating in yesterdays game was some of the worst in a long time. The only silver lining was they were consistent in their calling against the Cowboys DB (Brown?). It really seemed like there were 3 teams out there ... Raiders vs. Cowboys vs. Zebras.
Happy they got the win, hoping the next extra half week off helps them get healthy. Waller would be a huge loss to the team, and say what you well about Nassib, but he has proven to be able to make plays coming in off the bench at times.

Some random thoughts on the game:
- Play calling seemed different at times, but not different enough. They still made some dumb calls on key moments, like the previously mentioned running Jacobs out of the gun in a key 3rd and short situation.
- The sequence of events at the end of the game was something else... a false start (super weak call) to take FG off the board, and make it a longer kick >> a missed FG attempt (hit the upright) erased with the neutral zone infraction >> another offside to give the Raiders a first down >> the game winner kick on a 1st and 10.
- DJax was key in the success of the O yesterday.
- Liked seeing Carr push it down the field, although I'd be remise to not call out that he down field throws seemed off more than not. Short, outside.. Something seemed off.
- Pollard is a special player.

Anyone else think Carr looks like Lyle Alzado's kid?it doesnt cost anything to be positive

When I watched that play happen a family member who's a Cowboy fan said, "Who's that guy?" I just shook my head and said, "That's our #4 overall pick making a name for himself on special teams. "

Statline shows 4 targets for 3-103-1 but I think that is off by one target, because, IIRC, he drew two huge DPI calls. One for 30+ & one for 17. So he really accounted for about 150 yards on 5 targets.
He's no Ruggs but I like that Carr went long early & often to demonstrate that Jackson still needs to be accounted for.

I don't think the PIs count as targets. You guys are right Desean made a huge difference. Carr played great yesterday and when he is aggressive throwing the ball down the field this is a different team.

Zay Jones is a mixed bag IMO. I love that amazing sidelines catch that just missed. It was amazing hands, body control & awareness in that moment. He made some other nice catches, and it's a shame he slipped on that end-around. It was nice to see him step up when Waller went down (btw any Cowboy fan who complains about no CeeDee & Amari can bite my Ruggs & Waller).
The flip side is I think I understand a little better why the Bills gave up on him and he hasn't done more for the Raiders. I don't think he is good at tracking deep balls at all. He looked absolutely lost on the deep pass into the end zone (I think it was third quarter). He had no idea where the ball was. I'm not even sure it would have been a tough catch if he had been able to track the ball properly.

The offensive line did a nice job keeping the pass rush off Carr and it was nice to see the commitment to the running game, and Jacobs in particular. But there really wasn't a ton of room for Jacobs to operate. I like how the young guys in the middle of the o-line are playing but I think it shows how much they miss a guy like Incognito and even Good.
How great would Jacobs day have looked if he hadn't dropped that pass over the middle?

That would have been a huge play, at least 50 yards and possibly a 75 yard TD.
It's painfully obvious that Jacobs is much more effective running with Carr under center. I wish I had his stats from yesterday and the season as a whole running from the gun vs taking handoffs that start with Carr under center.

I just rewatched the end of the Raiders/Cowboys game and, besides the surprising win, the moment I noticed on 2nd viewing actually gave me more hope about this team than anything else: 2 sideline shots right before the winning field goal in OT showed Carr talking to Ngakoue and then Waller talking to Maxx. It made me smile seeing that core of 4 players talking. An unexpected and exciting win plus that moment gives me a glimmer of hope for this season and beyond.
but now to the anti-jinx…no way the Raiders win their next game. Congrats in advance to the Washington Football Team.

I have been trying to figure out exactly what is wrong...
I figured that after the one game after Ruggs that they would be able to get 'get past it'. I read something and it made me think more. Tim Brown tweeted this: “24 hours later I’m reminded of the 89 season when in training camp we lost a starter and a leader on our team. We couldn’t visit him or text him to say I got your back, he was gone forever! It took the team almost half the season to EXHALE! Right now everyone thinks they are OK, but you really aren’t! The day will come when you can breathe again and move on. Keep fighting boys, a better day is ahead!” If there is someone who knows better than any of us what they team is going through, it is Brown. I don't think anyone can say that he was unprofessional in his career. He experienced likely one of the nearest things possible to what this team experienced with the event involved with Ruggs. It wasn't Ruggs being killed but the circumstances are in many ways very similar to what Brown experienced back in '89 with the death of Stacey Toran. I think the circumstances of Ruggs is still laying heavy on the team.
On top of that is missing Ruggs from the offense. I think anyone saying that Ruggs being gone isn't a big factor was not paying attention to the team. Desean Jackson was brought in and he has been a great deep threat through his career but a few things. 1) He is brand new to the offense. It will take time to get him up to speed... we should see game by game improvement 2) He is old. 3) Even in his prime, he would get beat by Ruggs speed. (4.27 vs 4.35 40's). I think anyone saying this also underestimated how much Ruggs presence did for the offense even if he was not the target. There just is no way that defenses are worried about Jones or Jackson going deep like they were with Ruggs. That changes how defenses play and it creates other opportunities that are now closed. The good news is Jackson brings a veteran ability with a long track record of deep play making ability.
I feel like Carr is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders right now. It looks to me like his play is being forced when he is best when he plays within the system and uses his accuracy to pick teams apart. With all the drama, I think he may be trying to carry too much of the load on his shoulders. He is THE leader of this team.
After Gruden, Olsen made some adjustments with the offense. Simplifying some things and it worked very well on that first game back after Gruden (but with Ruggs) but now, it feels like the offense is too simple. I tend to dislike the hindsight criticism of play calling as whether something is "brilliant" or "foolish" is based solely on whether it works or not but it is hard to say that a jet sweep with Edwards on a 3rd and 1 was the right call. I am starting to have concerns about Olsen as the OC.
What exactly is the over/under on how many uncalled holds Maxx gets each game?
I do not think the season is lost just yet but Dallas is an important game. We need it for the record but also for the confidence and to 'get right'. If we win this game, I would give us about a slightly better than 50/50 chance of making playoffs. We have Washington after that and then 4 tough matchups and one not easy but not tough game. We can beat all of those teams we have left though but if we lose to the Cowboys, I am not sure we pull out of that. I would give a very slim chance to make playoffs. This really is an important game.

Raiders got a mini bye week after their Turkey Day win over the Cowboys in Dallas. And will now welcome the WFT in week 13. The WFT is coming off their 3rd win in a row over a confused Seahawks team on MNF. Really hoping the Raiders show up for this one. Tied for the the 2nd spot in the AFC West, 1 game back of KC, and very much in wild card contention in the AFC. Every game counts now. The rest of the season looks like a gauntlet; WFT, @KC, @CLE, DEN, @IND, LAC. WFT is the only team currently under the .500 mark.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Mullen return to the line up, Coach B commented yesterday that they will not rush him back, and he won't be activated unless he is back to at least 90%.
Raiders will need to find a way to calm the WFT rush, and hopefully Olsen has found a new play calling groove to stay in...

If any defensive coordinator knows Carr, its Del Rio. This is going to be a very interesting game.
Agreed. People will say what they want about all the PI's last week vs Dallas, but credit should be given to Carr and Olson for being smart enough to know how the refs were calling the game. Del Rio is going to come after Carr so the Oline is going to have to have one of their best games of the season.
