2022-2023 NBA Salary Cap Draft - First Annual Battle for the Wikkid Cup (3 Viewers)

Going cheap again here for a young wing.

8.5 - Jalen McDaniels, Wing, CHA

A young wing who has shown a lot of progress the last 2 years. Averaging over 20 minutes a game so far this year, he's a long athlete who's grown as a shooter and defender. Going he continues to get better as the year goes along and can break until the rotation.

@Instinctive is on the clock.

I have a list from Instinctive from this morning, but I'm 99% sure it doesn't apply to this pick, so we'll wait.

unaccpetable pick now
Thanks @scoobus - when I picked Wiggins, I spent a solid...hour...maybe more, figuring out if I thought I could fit the 2nd guy on there. And it turns out I'm just like $1M short of it being possible even if I only take all the lowest salary guys remaining for the other roster spots :(

I'll take Derrick White here - the final guy I need to really be a ball handler in my rotation, he really keeps it moving, very good connecting piece who defends. Plus 35% from three isn't bad (he started out hot this year but I don't think the 43% lasts). Little pricier than I'd like but another clear great fit on this squad. Can guard 1-3 too which is a bonus.

@Dr. Octopus

Waiting to see when some folks figure out that [A recent Knicks off-season acquisition with a huge PER36] and [A huge surprise resigning for the Rockets last year] are some of the best bargains in the NBA right now.

[A new Toronto Raptor] is an injury/trade away in front of him to getting a ton of burn

[A young defensive savant for the NO Pelicans] is the best pure "dollar spent to production for advanced stats" in the NBA this season. He's just not specifically fantasy friendly.

What is wrong with you. Can you edit the post to kill the spotlighting please?

Now this is the Wolves wing to provide scoring off the bench.

Yo Mama selects:

8.08 - Jaylen Nowell, SG #OurWolves - $1,930,681

Averaging over 21 minutes and almost 15 points a game, 5 reb, 1.5 threes made, and a steal per game.

My man Anthony Edwards calls him the best scorer on the team and must see TV. Fantastic value for a min deal.

Great pick. I was going to take him this round. He's gone from a total no-name to a 6th man of the year contender.

8.09 - Christian Braun - Wing - Nuggets ($2.8M)

Impressive looking rookie who caught my eye in the preseason. He's already earned rotation minutes for a contending team and is contributing on both ends of the floor.

He has a good chance to be this year's Herb Jones. I was hoping he was flying far enough under the radar that I could grab him at my next turn.

This was the play that sold me on him on Friday night.

MPJ gets beat and Braun comes over from the weakside to block Beasley. That is not a typical play by a rookie, even a good defense one. I think this season he'll be a little more successful in a team concept playing passing lanes and whatnot, but he seems to be a very good man defender as well. If he is a plus three point shooter (I don't think he will be this year), he's got a looong career ahead of him.

I almost hate to do this, but he was at the top of my list anyway.

Isaiah Hartenstein, knicks
That's what's annoying too. He's been at mine too for a couple rounds and I imagine he was on basically everyone here, because everyone in here knows their stuff...but might someone have waited a round to try and sneak through, etc.

8.14 - Jevon Carter, PG, MIL $2.1M
Great pick Jayrod. One of my favorite players to watch. He just keeps improving his game and he's so active. Thought it was one of the worse moves of last season when the Nets let him go. He's a perfect fit on any NBA team.

I loved watching him play in college @ WVU. He's just an intense competitor and has been starting.
