seriously though.. aging player, selfish player, can't get to the basket regularly anymore. doesn't fit with Embiid. probably shouldn't on the floor at the same time anyways. maybe never played defense well, but at least at some point he tried now and again? not anymore.
some team out there thinks "we can win big with James Harden". it's not the Sixers.
would the sixers be better or worse without him this year i honestly dont have a good feel for that take that to the bank brohansseriously though.. aging player, selfish player, can't get to the basket regularly anymore. doesn't fit with Embiid. probably shouldn't on the floor at the same time anyways. maybe never played defense well, but at least at some point he tried now and again? not anymore.

Embiid and Maxey love him too. He just took a pay cut to stay with the Sixers and make some acquisitions. There is a 0.0% chance the Sixers even pick up the phone to listen to an offer.Sixers GM loves Harden. As long as he’s there ol’ Jimmy will be.
i know it's the Harden Renaissance(tm) which is why they should sell highseriously though.. aging player, selfish player, can't get to the basket regularly anymore. doesn't fit with Embiid. probably shouldn't on the floor at the same time anyways. maybe never played defense well, but at least at some point he tried now and again? not anymore.

Magic Johnson?wouldn't be shocked to see James pack on 60 like that guy who played pg, got fat and turned in to a point power forward (whose name is escaping me at the moment).

no defense, apathetic, not getting to the basket anymore. he's down over 2 FT attempts per game this season. ppg is in decline. rebounds, assists, steals all down from last year.
3 point attempts and makes down. percentage down.
he's in decline and not the kind of guy who is going to work hard to get it back. wouldn't be shocked to see James pack on 60 like that guy who played pg, got fat and turned in to a point power forward (whose name is escaping me at the moment).
he's 33. gotta package that kind of guy and get max value now before he turns in to Oliver Miller, but thinks he's 23 and still wants to dominate the ball with a much better player on the court.

no chance. He’s the best player on the team for sure (he was incredible in the 4th quarter last night against the Magic) but I gotta pushback on the one man team deal. The Thunder are not bad at all with everyone out there. Poku is figuring it out (last night was his best game as a pro), Dort is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and Giddey is a future all-star. Tre Mann is a nice piece off the bench, Dieng is an intriguing teenager and the kid from Santa Clara looks like a contributor. It’s why I said they won’t actively tank this year - they are just too good unless they start holding people out unnecessarily.any chance the messed up, pick accumulating okc look to deal sga? or do they wait for chet the twig and see what they’ve got? cause if i’m the knicks (who took k knox at 9, 2 picks ahead of sga), i am offering barrett, toppin or another youth combo and 3-5 of my 1s for him. he’s basically a man team right now…and winning.
If you believe in PER as an advanced metric, Harden ranks 13th in the league out of players that play 30+ minutes a game. Embiid is ranked 12th.I actually think Harden has been solid this year and he seems to understand his limitations and that he’s on the decline. It’s Embiid’s team, Jimbo knows it, and yeah he sucks at defense but he generally plays hard when he’s out there. He’s just lazy off the court. I think the consternation about Philly’s start is gonna look really really dumb by Christmas. They are great.

Seems to me the Sixers are looking more like Morey's Rockets and adapting to Harden's style of hero ball. Should work well during the regular season. Best of luck in post.
Jimbo Slice, Honey Bun, El Chapo, The Beard.... apparently all his nicknamesJimbo?

Didn't they just lose at home by a lot to the Wizards as 6 point favorites? How is this working well in the regular season?

Yeahhhh.Tough loss for the Pelicans tonight. Being up 3 on the Lakers with 1.8 seconds and free throws upcoming yet you lose. Ouch.
And I stayed up for that
I finally got to watch a full Celtics game last night and it was a good one.Cavs looked great last night against the Celtics. Garland looked like himself coming off of the eye injury and I'm pleasantly surprised at how good Mitchell has been on defense. If they stay healthy, I don't see why they won't be a top 4 seed in the East this season.
They were sloppy with the ball at times, but their 3-pt shot selection was fine. It is the way of the NBA now and statistically it is the correct play in most of those instances. They also rebounded really really well against 2 good rebounders. Their was one big offensive rebound they gave up either late in the 4th or OT, but for the most part they controlled the glass. I also like that they are more willing to run out on the break and should tighten up their ball security as they get more familiar with each other playing that style. It really does benefit them to get Tatum and Brown going downhill before the defense is set.I've watched most of all the Celtics games so far. They have blown 10+ leads in multiple games (sometimes more than once in the same game). They have fallen back into bad habits. Either the guy bringing the ball up the floor jacks up a three or passes to another guy that jacks up a three. On rare occasion when someone drives the lane, that guy makes a wild pass to the perimeter and hopes someone is there to jack up a three. They live and die by the three pointer, and when they aren't hitting them, they can go half a quarter and not score any points. Related to that, they allow so many long rebounds that it's hard for them to set their defense properly, and they end up having bad matchups on the defensive end. They have tried to go more up tempo, but they turn the ball over way too much on those types of possessions (traveling, palming, offensive fouls, losing the ball out of bounds, throwing the ball away, etc.). Not sure how they fix all that. It would help getting Timelord back, but that seems a long ways away.
On the Ime front, rumors are starting to leak out. I heard something on the radio this morning about there (allegedly) being texts of him to women in the organization. Apparently, a multitude of women in the organization. The people involved in the investigation mentioned already they were only investigating allegations involving one particularly woman, and that didn't mean there weren't other issues involving other women. Give it some time, and more will come out . . . especially once the C's are off the hook for his contract.
Players on the team are also said to be disgruntled. They liked Ime and wanted him back as coach and had to go with the flow. Now it looks like whatever he did wasn't so bad and instead of him coaching the Celtics, it looks like he will be coaching the Nets. The players don't understand why the coach they liked couldn't coach them again this year, and really aren't fans of the Nets potentially having them as their coach a few weeks into the season.
They don't dislike Mazzulla, but they don't understand what Ime did that was so awful that he can coach the Nets but not the Celtics. I admit I wonder that myself. It's unclear what the players know (or think they know) about what Udoka did (or didn't do).Man I really hope their culture doesn't implode. The end of the Kyrie era and the subsequent way the players tuned out Stevens was ugly to watch. Hopefully they like Mazzulla enough to stay the course even if they don't like the Ime situation.
...., but they turn the ball over way too much on those types of possessions (traveling, palming,....
......and even a carry called on Brogdon. Bickerstaff was livid with the refs on multiple occasions at the end of the 4th qtr.....
I feel like all of that will come out once he coaches a game for the Nets. They don't dislike Mazzulla, but they don't understand what Ime did that was so awful that he can coach the Nets but not the Celtics. As for their shot selection, I agree that long term it's better to take good open threes, but I don't like that they take them with 15-20 seconds left on the shot clock . . . especially when they have a double-digit lead. In two games with the Cavs, they gave the lead back in 90-120 seconds. I get it, teams go on runs, but IMO the momentum wouldn't shift so quickly if they had longer possessions and potentially were in position to get some rebounds. Last night, they were shooting threes with no one close to the basket. Total rebounds were about even last night, but the Bulls were +15 rebounds and the Cavs were +8 the first game. They are averaging -3.5 rebounds per game on the season so far. Maybe that will even out, and maybe that will improve with Williams when he eventually comes back.
I'm just concerned that there are games where they clearly look like the better team and end up losing in the 4th quarter (home or away). They did that a lot last year and recovered by the end of the season, but not exactly what you want to see.
Ssshhh...please keep the commentary on the Lakers demise, Philly nonsense, Kyrie, etc. Nothing to see here.Cavs looked great last night against the Celtics.
