He also needed 27 shots and 12 FTs to get to 34 points. That isn’t great. He also had 7 turnovers (and really had closer to double digits if not for a few horrific bailout calls).
His rebounding was huge though. Huge. And he played hard all game.
One thing I like to do is a quick Pts/possessions used analysis to determine how efficient/effective a guy was scoring. I kind of use 1.0 as the midpoint and below that is poor/inefficient and above that is good/efficient. I count possessions as FGatt + 0.5 FTatt + TO's. I round down the 0.5xFTatt to the nearest whole number because of 3-pt fouls and and-1's.
Here are the numbers for all of the Celtics & Warriors last night:
CELTICS
Tatum 0.850 (34/40)
Brown 0.696 (16/23)
Horford 1.429 (20/14)
RWilliams 1.273 (14/11)
Smart 0.857 (18/21)
GWilliams 0.400 (2/5)
Brogdon 0.824 (14/17)
White 0.143 (1/7)
Kornet 2.000 (2/1)
Total Celtics - 0.864 (121/140)
WARRIORS
Curry 0.967 (29/30)
Thompson 1.143 (24/21)
Wiggins 0.833 (20/24)
Green 1.222 (11/9)
Poole 0.857 (24/28)
Looney 0.667 (2/3)
Lamb 0.333 (2/6)
DiVincenzo 1.000 (6/6)
Total Warriors - 0.929 (118/127)
Basically the Warriors were more efficient, but the Celtics generated enough extra possessions through offensive rebounding to make up the difference.
