According to Brian Windhorst, talks around the league suggest James Harden could be in the market for a four year $200 million contract.
And that's the way you do it.

It's Harden in a box!

Man, AD needs to do something here. He can’t even get a rebound.
He is entering Cancun mode.
AD calls it New Orleans mode.

So does Zion...

So one of the biggest mysteries around Jokic is his advanced defensive stats.

He isn't at the top like he is on the offensive side, but if the numbers can be believed, he is a top 15-20 defensive player in the entire NBA. Yes he has some good defenders around him, but they aren't as good defensively without him on the floor.

Getting to watch him play this playoffs so often I've noticed something very unique about his defensive approach. Most centers, when they step up to stop penatration, they wall up and/or jump to block the shot. But Jokic seems to often predict what the player will do and reacts to that. He never seems to chase floaters and just goes straight to rebounding before the ball is even shot. He will also recover to his man a lot quicker than other centers, taking away lobs and dumpoffs. Sometimes he does stay out and contest the shot, but usually only when he thinks he can block or effect it. He will also feign help and simply let the player go and just track for the rebound. It is incredible how often all of this results in a miss or steal and it helps his rebound numbers as well.

Solid breakdown. He’s a smart player who does many little things that add up to a net positive result for the team, on both ends of the floor.

You are right with the rotation shorting, but it's Tatum. He wants to be the man, and he's a great shooter, but he's a horrible facilitator and playmaker. Jamal Murray is a bit selfish and is a comparable shooter to Tatum. The difference is, when Murray is ice cold, he can drive and pass or run pick and rolls. Tatum has no offense besides shooting,
They average the same amount of assists per game

Probably not great when you are relying on 79 minutes of Hachimura and Schroder (plus 9 Tristan Thompson minutes!) in a close out playoff game.

Yeah, Tatum is a good passer. He doesn't drive to create, but he can make the right read more often than not. He has also become a very good rebounder and defensive player.

Tatum will swing the ball for an assist on a three 90% of the time for those assists. I can't remember the last time I saw him hit a backdoor cutter or anything direct and complicated. Murray creates so many different ways.

Weird side note. I kinda think this Laker coach is a good dude. He's pretty classy and intelligent at a minimum. So many of those dudes are smug with giant ego's. He seems alright. First time I ever paid attention to him. Was he a player?
Yep, he was...

With the Pacers for a while as I recall

Elite dunker

James been a little salty after last two games. Game before he left bench before it was over, tonight he hardly offered any congrats.
LeBron did leave the court fairly quickly, but he did turn back and give bro hugs to Murray, KCP and Jokic before going.

Actually thought it was pretty classy given how disappointing it must have been to get swept on his home floor.

Not sure I've ever seen a team get so dominated while playing well like is happening with the Lakers right now.
I wouldn’t say the Lakers are playing well - missing layups, can’t get a rebound, stupid passes. . .
Easily could have won any of these games.
No.
Hey stranger, good talk.
No talk needed, that is just nonsense, other than in the sense that any team has a chance to win a game it plays in.

Lakers were outplayed every time it mattered and the Nuggets imposed their will on them.

Thanks for your input. First Take is coming up next.
