2022 FBG Subscriber Contest is ON - Update - 1st place is $10k + $5k to food bank of their choice (3 Viewers)

Week 6 has another 20% cut. Starting with 5726 teams, right around 1145 will be eliminated. Kicking off Thursday Night with WAS/CHI.

QB - Fields (475 - 23.30), Wentz (111 - 5.15)
RB - Herbert (593 - 7.50), Robinson (417 - 12.00), McKissic (158 - 2.00), Montgomery (95 - 8.50), Gibson (79 - 6.80)
WR - Mooney (319 - 13.80), McLaurin (304 - 8.20), Samuel (138 - 2.60), Jones (79 - 2.80)
TE - Kmet (666 - 3.00)
K - Santos (203 - 1.00), Slye (31 - 6.80)
D - CHI (347 - 3.00), WAS (170 - 9.00)

No monster scores from anyone, and the most common guy (Kmet) put up another dud. Fields saved his week with 1 pass and 1 run. Mooney gets his 2nd double digit game, and Robinson reaches the end zone. Washington finally gets a good game from the D.
With my running back stable I regard Robinson's 12 points as a monster score.

I have missed several pages of this thread this season due to life busyness and possibly being in a guillotine league that takes a lot more week to week focus than normal leagues, but is anyone tracking the message board posters vying for Joe’s Electra prize?

I admit that I don't get the "Electra prize" reference, but I'm assuming you mean the "post your team" bonus. As with nearly everything Contest related, @TheWinz has been keeping track and posting the list of qualifying survivors each week.

If your team is not listed and you would like it to be, tell me your team name. I will EDIT this list (where it sits) and add your team. I will occasionally repost the list to keep it close by. Thanks ! I believe I've now added everyone who asked. Let me know if I missed anyone...

* For others like me, who had no players active last night (my only guy is Dotson, who is out injured) the good news is there were no big scores and the game did not establish a cut line. We all need to hope the cut line stays low this week with people on bye week and the cut percentage increasing to 20%.

* Statistical Fact: With "apalmer" smoking the rest of us and the next closest team (Dacommish) by 5.42 points.. Dacommish would have to outscore him by 6 times the difference in week 6 (32.52 points) in order to catch him. The good news is none of this matters, :-) and every team that is still alive has a chance to make the playoffs.

Good Luck to everyone in week 6 !

We now have 24 teams attending the party. Below are our average scores per week. Please bear in mind that there are no real leaders and we are all exactly equal no mater what our scores are. Points only count if you make it to beyond week 14. The object of this game is not to score the most points, but rather to survive past week 14.

Yeah, a couple of years ago I averaged almost 200 points per week for the first 7 or 8 weeks...and then scored in the 120's and got eliminated. Past performance is not an indicator of future success.

Hey I'm in great company with @TheWinz .

Speaking of Joe's $100, don't forget about the additional $100 offered for the 150-word write-up on contest strategy. It was the same offer - an extra $100 if you finish in the top 250. Here is a link to that article - https://www.footballguys.com/article/2022-subscriber-contest-strategy
And here are the published folks that are still alive:
@apalmer
@Dacomish
@Grid71
@Hot Sauce Guy
@KingPrawn
@menobrown
@rockaction
@Saint
@TheWinz
@TwinTurbo

Sadly, we have lost these 5:
@Deamon
@Drunken Cowboy
@fightingillini
@SeniorVBDStudent
@Shaunz33

I will add these names to the weekly Joe's $100 post going forward.

Don’t cry for me @QuizGuy66 - I’m still alive and well in the contest, and my very lean rooster continues to perform well, and across the board.

Stevenson gets a bump this week, and I’m hopeful AJ Dillon starts to get more involved. That one’s a head-scratcher. Not only has he not been a “1B” as his usage was predicted, he’s not even replicating his production from last year.

A Bateman return would be nice as well.

And a job for my kicker. Ah, Rodrigo, I trusted you with my heart. :cry:

I am one of the guys who risked the dead money waiting for Robinson to get back. Ive got even more of that dead money sunk into Deandre Hopkins who is off suspension after this week. I ALMOST got cut week 1 and week 2 ....since then my team has gotten stronger and stronger. With those 2 back theoretically it means I should have an advantage over teams that didnt take that risk.........(which means this will probably be the week the turk comes for me if for no9 other reason...Karma....

Wow, you are braver than me! I've stashed Deandre Hopkins in a few of my regular leagues, but I didn't even consider him in this contest. Well done!

Two separate bonuses: one for posting your lineup by the deadline, and one for giving advice in the thread that was then used in the FBG article on succeeding in the contest. Some of us qualify for both, but it looks like you're still alive for the advice article.

D.Hopkins could be huge especially in best ball. Cards are running more plays on offense than anyone. Plus he got suspended for performance enhancing so we can assume he will show up jacked. 💪

I’m right there with you on Stevenson and Dillon. What they do this weekend may very well determine whether I'm posting next week as a survivor, or as an outsider looking in. I am missing a total of 6 players due to injuries / byes / and Blankenship. :ponder:
What concerns me with Stevenson is it originally sounded like Damien Harris was going to miss a week and likely more, but he has partially practiced the last couple days and is only listed as questionable. That may be sand bagging, but who knows? I'd love to see Stevenson repeat last week's yardage and possibly add a TD to boot. I might need it to survive.

Dillon had a decent week 1, and from what I read, Aaron Jones was complaining about not getting his fair share of snaps. From week 2 onward, Dillon hasn't gotten squat. Like you, I have to hope that changes, and SOON.

It will be interesting to see where the cut line goes with 20% of the teams getting whacked this weekend.

Looking at the running list of Top 5 scores each week, sadly we have lost Entry 108992 in Week 5, who was 5th overall in Week 2.

Couple of interesting stats through the first 5 weeks for these teams:
  • We have had 25 different teams score in the top 5. We have had 4 teams score multiple times in the Top 100 multiple times, and 3 teams in the Top 50 multiple times (100872 - 20 person, swagmeowt - 18 person, 105753 - 18 person)
  • The best average pts per week is Entry #105753 (https://footballguys.com/contests/subscribers/roster/105753/week/5) with 200.90.
  • The average pts per week of the folks that have placed in Top 5 is 184.62.
  • We have lost 6 teams that have placed in the Top 5 since Week 1. The average loss rate per week is 30%. The bloodiest week was Week 4 where 4 teams went down.
  • The best average of the Teams that have been eliminated is 174.83.
  • The average pts per week of all eliminated Top 5 teams has been 171.39.
  • The turk average has been 131.75 pts.

I am not sure what happened. I did nothing to remove it. It just isn't there this year. Maybe someone does not like cheerleaders. :-)

wen wandale?? NOW!

Who else besides me is biting their nails so far in the 1pm games? My guys are not getting squat so far. I need several players to break out in the 2nd half. Almost all my players are playing in the early games. Almost nobody left to bail me out this evening if they don’t . :bored:

Alot of non-contest players or rare ones doing the scoring, so hopefully a low cut line...

Thinking (hoping?) the same thing. Stevenson with a good game, but not many other highly-owned guys doing much.

After 1pm....still a lot of guys who should count but I will need them to do stuff :oldunsure:

91.70 + (Allen - 0.00) + (Sutton/Hollywood/JuJu/Palmer/Shenault - 5.30/5.80/6.60/9.60) + (Higbee - 5.30/6.60/12.40) + (Cardinals - 12.00)

That MoneyMac field goal and 12 from the Vikings might prove clutch. Hopefully Saquon doing the smart thing doesn't hurt.

Cut line is only 73.30 after early games.
Yea things are pretty slow and low this week, I'll take it only having 119 after 1PM games!

I'm mildly relieved that the cut line is only 73.30 after the 1pm games. I was hoping for it to be below 90, and the further the better. At half time of 1pm games, I had only about 40 points.
I'm sitting at 129.35 after the early games, but with ONLY 4 players and the Arizona Defense left to play. I have 6 players that put up 7 points or less so far. If not for Tonyan finally putting up a decent score today, and the late 2nd TD by Stevenson, I'd likely be in danger of being eliminated. My low flex right now is only 7.20 so hopefully I can at least get in the 140's this week, which I hope would be safe.

Sitting at 117.3 with a few to go:

Sutton/Palmer -6.10
Goedert/Sutton/Palmer -11.50 (current flex)
KC -0

Thinking I’ll be done around 120… hoping it may be enough with low scoring 1 pm games

:sick: 109.65 with only AJ Brown and C. Sutton left. need some monster scores. Saquon dropping at the one was a good move for the G-men but did not make me happy at all.

Looking good now that the scores of Josh Allen and Travis Kelce are reflected in the totals. "Extremely Unofficial" is 148.25 and I'll add 💯 of DeVonta Smith and Dallas defense.
