2022 FBG Subscriber Contest is ON - Update - 1st place is $10k + $5k to food bank of their choice (4 Viewers)

No Josh Allen for me this week. FBGs has me projected at 131.73. Going to be a tough week for the home team.
No Allen, no Goedert and no Viking D for me. Will need to rely on Pickett/Trubisky and TJ Hock (unless Schultz is reinvigorated by a QB change). On the bright side, all 5 RBs (all in the top 18 of FBG projections, with 4 in the top 12) and all 6 WRs active, so maybe I can get some decent flex scores. FBG projects me to around 140.

Week 6 Statistical Trivia

23
= Team size with the highest year to date survial rate @ 42.90%
18
= Team size with the lowest year to date survival rate @ 34.91% (lowest for 3 weeks in a row)

30= Team size with the smallest drop in survival rate in week 6
27 = Team size with the largest drop in overall survival rate in week 6. Had the highest survival rate though week 5 but dropped the most in week 6.
Survival rate continues to favor larger roster teams, with 4 of the top 5 being between 23 and 28. The outlier this week is team size 20, at 5th overall through 6 weeks.

Monday night cut line moved 6.90 points in week 6. Average movmement this season is season is 7.00 points on Monday night. (week 2 excluded due to 2 Monday games)
As the number of teams in this contest shrinks, expect the Monday night cut line to have a larger impact the deeper we go into the season.

Median scores the previous 3 weeks were 160.05, 160.20, 160.25 respectively, varying by only 0.15. Median score during the first bye week was 135.65.

Crushing the cut line!(Teams crushing the cut line by the most points)

Dacommish by
103.50 points in week 2 !!

Sorry to see ya go.

One more yard by any player and you would make it by a whisker. Watch the next day or so for stat corrections. While it's rare, sometimes they tweak the stats, so there's a very slight chance.

One year in regular fantasy football, I thought I had won a game by a fraction of a point.... Until a stat correction changed an opponent's apparent running play to a reception instead. The 1 point PPR was enough to alter the score against me. The play went something like this.... the QB took the snap with a wide receiver in motion. The WR ran in front of the QB, and the QB handed off the ball to the WR, who took it an ran for a gain. Originally it showed rushing yards only. But later was changed to a reception and receiving yards. So the stat gurus apparently scored it incorrectly at first, and later made the correction.

I’ve both won a game and lost a game on Thursday stat changes this year alone - different leagues.

Mine we’re both IDP though, where such things are more common (half tkl changed to a full, split sack turned to a sack for one dude & a 0 for the other)

But yeah - occasionally a yard here or there will manifest.

I shall think happy thoughts for @scooterpea 🤞🏼

Only problem is Stat changes normally happen by the NFL on a Thursday. The Weekly scores for the contest lock on Wed:

From the Rules:
"All scoring is determined final at 11:59pm ET on the day after the last game day of the week (in a typical week, this would be Tuesday). Users have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on the following day (Wednesday in a typical week) to report possible scoring errors or discrepancies for that week's games. All errors reported via the FBG help desk before that time will be corrected as soon as possible. Any error not reported before the deadline specified above (including, but not limited to, errors retroactively introduced by official league stat changes) will stand as posted."

This week, I literally lost by 0.02 points in one of my leagues... I feel the pain

153.35. With the Cousins/Carr pairing so common, but one I wasn't willing to stray from, I pared away a few bucks here and there, and spent $10, and rostered Matty Ice, who came through with a whopping 37 points, Week 6, with Carr unavailable. Thank you, sir. May I have another (performance like that, Week 7, sans Cousins)?

No Cousins (Carr, Ryan)
No Singletary (Dillon, Hunt, Pierce, Wilson)
No ARob, Gabe Davis (Sutton, Boyd, Julio *?*, Palmer), Watkins IR
No Knox (Engram, Hooper)
McManus, Hopkins, Blankenship
Ravens, Packers, 49'ers

Challenging Week 7, for sure. Maybe not having any of the PTP'ers winds up paying off...

Yea, trust me the "1 yard" realization hit hard. As has been pointed out, the official stat changes probably won't happen until after the official stat changes deadline for the contest. I went through every NFL.com game and verified points. I though I found an error until I realized my QB threw an INT subtracting a point.

My luck, there is an official NFL stat change that grants me enough to have survived but alas, too late.

Love the info in this thread and wish luck to all still left in. I will (of course) still monitor my team to see how it would have fared if not eliminated.

Skated by week 6. No Hurts, (probably no Pickett, either) Jefferson, or Minny D. Really hope Pitts starts coming on, it will make me feel better about AJ Dillon and DJ Moore. Good luck to all. I'm just trying to match last year's result.

My squad (preseason writeup) is alive through 6 weeks, averaging 160.7 per game. No nailbiter weeks so far.

Pos Player $$ St StarterPts
QB Trey Lance $15 0 0
QB Jared Goff $9 4 120.9
QB Kenny Pickett $3 2 27.3
RB Christian McCaffrey $37 5 89
RB Chase Edmonds $14 3 27.8
RB Dameon Pierce $10 4 67
RB Jeff Wilson $3 3 44.4
RB Zack Moss $3 0 0
WR Justin Jefferson $35 5 126.45
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster $15 2 36.2
WR Elijah Moore $13 1 6.5
WR Jameson Williams $7 0 0
WR George Pickens $6 2 30.5
WR Josh Palmer $6 3 43.6
WR Isaiah McKenzie $6 2 31.1
WR Zay Jones $5 2 37
WR WanDale Robinson $5 1 12.7
WR Romeo Doubs $5 2 37
WR Velus Jones $3 1 7.9
TE George Kittle $18 3 41.3
TE Gerald Everett $8 3 51.6
TE Kyle Rudolph $3 0 0
PK Graham Gano $3 3 40.8
PK Rodrigo Blankenship $3 1 9.5
PK Greg Zuerlein $3 2 27.7
TD Minnesota Vikings $3 0 0
TD Detroit Lions $3 0 0
TD Arizona Cardinals $3 3 25
TD Tennessee Titans $3 3 23

23 of my 29 players and $216 of my $250 budget have cracked my starting lineup, with 6 for $34 stuck on the bench.

The WRs have been my big strength, with Jefferson as my leading scorer and 13 starts from my $6 and under bunch (which cost $36 combined). 9 of my 12 flexes coming at WR, the other 3 at RB.

Trey Lance is out for the year, Blankenship is out but maybe coming back, Kyle Rudolph & Zack Moss have barely played, Elijah Moore & Chase Edmonds are big disappointments. That leaves me thinnest at QB, where I'm left with the Goff+Pickett duo. Really wish I'd found that extra dollar to go with Taysom over Rudolph. Large roster of cheapish players, especially rookies, has worked pretty well; and my handful of midrange guys have not.

I've been doing great at kicker, with 13 ppg despite Blankenship's absence. Not so great at defense (8 ppg), despite having 4 of them.

Squeaked by last week, but this week is the one I’ve been targeting as my death knell since my team started heading south. This week’s entry is likely:

Lamar
Pierce
Robinson
Sutton plus two of DJ Moore, Juju, Pickens, Doubs.
Hockenson
Boswell/Bullock
Niners/Ravens

That’s about 105 FBG projected points…

Ugh.

Look on the bright side... Lamar is ranked as the #1 QB this week... If he can drop a 50 again, Robinson continuing to lead in attempts, plus Hockenson remembering how to catch, you may end up being okay. In addition, Doubs continues to lead in targets, just needs to haul them in. I see your team has a lot of potential and could score high any given Sunday.

FWIW, I have a lot of the same guys, so really want them to pan out.

hey i just thought of something...

i wonder if i have the most salary cap in the texans of everyone in the constest:

Not sure about you and the total cap$ spent on Texans... But....

I'd be willing to bet that NOBODY out spent this guy :excited: on cap dollars spent on both Packers and Eagles... ALL IN THE SAME LINEUP!!
He spent $113 on Eagles! and $104 on Packers! and actually survived 4 weeks.
He averaged 167.24 through 4 weeks, but was eliminated in week 5 by 8.55 points

I guess I shouldn't laugh because he lasted one week longer this year than I lasted last year....

I was eliminated last week (earliest exit for me). I wish everyone the best of luck going forward.

My team was derailed by Aaron Jones, Robert Woods, Rashod Bateman, Kadrius Toney, Dalton Schultz, Dawson Knox, and Chase Edmonds. All these players either have been injured or just a bust.

At least our Illini are kicking butt!

On to Week Seven! Lest it seem like I'm bragging, I'm just enjoying the moments that I'm still in the competition. Gives me something to root for in addition to normal fantasy teams on Sunday.

161 this week. I'll take it. Godwin, Smith-Schuster, and Darnell Mooney got involved in the scoring this week, and I hope for more from them going forward. Berrios and Chark are still eating salary away and I don't think I'll ever wind up using them in an effort that keeps me above the cut line. Perhaps? I'd love to see it. I'd also like to see Courtland Sutton back to excelling, but J.C. Jackson shut him down this week. I'll give him a mulligan for it.

Fournette, Hall, and Brian Robinson all gave me usable scores at the RB position. Jeff Wilson did not and Dameon Pierce was on bye. I hope Shanahan doesn't put Wilson in the doghouse for fumbling Sunday. That'd be a drag.

Heh. I was feelin' good until I looked at the average score per week for the regulars that Puppies posted. Then I was like :kicksrock:. A lot of of you are way up there in terms of success. Good on ya!

Really hoping Kenny Pickett plays against Miami this week or Jameis starts for NO, because Desmond Ridder isn't starting and Cousins is on bye. I have a weird QB group, but it made sense when I picked them. Really hoping to last as long in this competition as it takes for Ridder to get the call. That's when things might get interesting given his legs.

But for this week? Help us Kenny Pickett, you're our only hope.

And thus we begin the week.

Kenny Pickett has a good chance to play this weekend.

I watched Tomlin's presser last night and learned that Kenny is practicing fully with no restrictions in spite of being in the protocol, and he is expected to be ready before the game. Tomlin also stated that if Kenny clears the concussion protocol, he will be the starting QB.

I’m rooting for a lot of the players you mentioned because they are on my roster too.

Not sure where you may stand on Blankenship, but there’s also a chance he is activated to kick for Arizona weekend.

Good luck this weekend!

At minimum, we need JuJu, Pierce, and Sutton to put up decent numbers. I’m hoping Dotson might be coming back from injury, but not hopeful at this point because I haven’t heard anything to make me believe he’s close.

I did indeed see that about Pickett tonight. Let's hope he clears protocol. Otherwise, I'm out a quarterback score.

Glad you have a lot of the players I do. Sweet. Well, best to you, then. :)

I have nothing tied up in Blankenship in this contest. He didn't strike me, over the past two years, as a particularly good kicker so I thought he would be in danger of losing his job. Just from watching him kick, I wasn't impressed (I was a K in college for a time, so I know what to look for). I have Fairbairn, Zeurlein (who was no sure thing given the way his past few years have gone), and Gano, who just developed into a stud kicker with tons of range. Those are my three $3 kickers.

I got suckered, like so many others, with the $3 kickers. The problem was injuries, and the timing of those injuries. As the contest was nearing it's close, the safe ones started getting dinged up while the risky ones were winning their camp battles. It was a perfect storm that steered many folks towards Blankenship and Seibert, and away from Gano and Fairbairn.

He was the concussed one, right? I simply ignored a kicker concussion, which I shouldn't have done.

I did similar (crossed Gano off my list with the preseason injury right when the contest was closing).

At least now I have a hope of getting back up to 2 kickers in this contest (Greg Z and Blankenship) and if Seibert gets signed by someone, that would be icing on the cake.

My main week 7 concerns are:
QB: I'm one of the folks in the contest with the Cousins/Carr combo, so I need Carr to put up solid numbers.
RB: I'm only missing Javante Williams :| and Moss is on a bye...but it's not like he's done anything to date. Even with Williams out, I'm pretty happy with my RB room: Hall, Pierce, Wilson, Edmonds, Homer. It is paper-thin though and requires Hall, Pierce and Wilson to stay healthy and remain solid
WR: I love where I ended up with my WRs. Diggs and MacKensie on a bye this week, but still have Sutton, Renfrow, Lazard, Palmer, Pickens. Now that I type that list out, I am a little worried about my WRs this week. If I can make it past week 7, then having Diggs as my anchor is feeling rock solid.
TE: ugh. this group is scary...Knox is on a bye (uh oh), Albert O, Mo Ali-Cox, Kyle Rudolph. Another list that has me really worried.
D: Balt, Vikes (bye), Tenn...still liking this combo.

Interesting, I felt much more confident in my roster until I just went through the above exercise. Dang, why don't I just go back to letting everyone else use a fine tooth comb on their roster, bye weeks, projections, etc and just wait til sunday night to see how my team did. Ignorance is bliss, afterall.

I did similar (crossed Gano off my list with the preseason injury right when the contest was closing)

Oh, I took Gano. I looked, saw concussion, thought about how it would impede him in the future as a kicker, thought it wouldn't, and put my three bucks down on Gano, who has saved me in at least one week if not two at the beginning.

Well... if we survive week 7, then we can start looking at our week 8 bye week players, and pondering the effect of a 30% cut line...

On second-guessing kicker selections... I had tentatively settled on Gano, Zuerlein, and Santos, but with the concussion to Gano, I penciled in Fairbairn as a possible replacment. Then when it looked like Gano was going to be fine, I went back to him because his bye week was a better fit. Then when I could not find even a hint of information on Santos and his job security, I swapped him for Blankenship after the Colts cut the guy that was competing with him in preseason. So at least I'm fotunate to have 2 active kickers, unlike many here. Hopefuly Blankenship gets a chance to play this wekeend and puts up some good numbers. Best case scenario is Rodrigo gets a gig before my kicker byes in weeks 9 &10.

I got suckered, like so many others, with the $3 kickers. The problem was injuries, and the timing of those injuries. As the contest was nearing it's close, the safe ones started getting dinged up while the risky ones were winning their camp battles. It was a perfect storm that steered many folks towards Blankenship and Seibert, and away from Gano and Fairbairn.
i blame you for not posting your winz kicker job security index itt prior to lock.

re: gano injury. he was back practicing like 2+ weeks prior to lock. this would have been easy info to find so not sure why people were backing off him if they thought he was worthy of selection.

It wasn't my list; it was ZWK's, and it was posted in this thread back on 21 Aug. The bottom three $3 kickers were Seibert, Santoso, and Blankenship. They are the only 3 kickers this year to have lost their jobs due to suckage.

 because there was a big hole in my prep time and that post surely fell into it. I know I scrapped Gano because of the concussion but never quite circled back on his status :bag:

Also probably didn't look back his way because of the heavy dollars on week 9. It's only 3 bucks but I probably felt set on where the Blank and Seibert dollars fell in the byes so never reopened that. Same with defenses (though that obv has worked out better)
