2022 Las Vegas Raiders (2 Viewers)

I certainly did not see that coming.  But I'm happy with it!
Can we move Ferrell to CB or WR?

Edit:  Nevermind... No longer a 3 man DE rotation.

Jones is a massive upgrade to Nassib, at least on paper. The question I have though, is at what cost, considering he plays the same spot as Maxx and Yan.

So Yannick best on the left, same as Maxx. Chandler best on the right.

Getting Ya-Sin is nice, but it's not a one for one deal. We will see what picks are involved

Wow I love the Chandler Jones thing.  Not sure on the straight-up swap with Indy though.  We shouldn't be moving pass rushers but we do need to add DB's so I suppose that's a wash?

FWIW, PFF had significantly higher grades for Jones last season than Ngakoue.

- Yan... Run: 28.2, Pass: 66.3, Overall: 47.2

- Jones... Run: 41.9, Pass: 89.8, Overall: 70.4

Its probably a slight overpay in a vacuum, Nkagoue is probably a better EDGE than Ya-Sin is a CB, that said, he was pretty expensive for a guy who was going to be the #3.

Win-Win deal, but probably a bigger win for Indy.

We have two good rushers, and now we have a young CB. Yannick pretty much a designated pass rusher, Chandler plays both. He's older, tho.

Contract ramifications -

Trading Yan just prior to his roster bonus being due results in zero dead cap and $13 MM in cap relief, which was presumably used to sign Jones (hopefully to something similar).

Ya-Sin comes in with a $2.5 MM base salary and cap hit as part of the final year of his rookie deal. If he leaves for big money next season, the Raiders would be in prime position to net a decent comp pick from his departure, and also a good look if they decide they'd like to pay to keep him long term.

$17 million for Jones

“It's not about money at all,” Jones told his former Patriots teammate Logan Ryan on the “NFL Players Podcast” this week. “Where I am in my career, I've gotten contracts, I've gotten a Super Bowl, but scheme is huge or for me it's winning more championships. I'll say it again, it's not about money.6 days ago

By the way, they are saying 3 years for Chandler, but no money announced.

That usually means the agent didn't that excited to get those numbers out there.

This all seems very good to me

The #Raiders are giving pass-rusher Chandler Jones a 3-year deal worth roughly $51M, source said. As of now, that’s top of the pass-rush market in free agency...

Watching NFL Network right now, Ian and Garoppolo expect more, LV secondary moves.

Garafolo?

Gara--something Italian

Oh man, am I praying that Devin Lloyd drops to us in the draft.  This D can be better than we could have hoped for at the end of last year....I ask for so little

Devin Lloyd would be awesome, but I don't think he makes it to 22.  I would be really excited if Nakobe Dean was there and I think there is probably a better chance that he is.

Jones / Crosby is one hell of a tandem. Life just got more difficult for Mahomes, Wilson & Herbert.

I really wanted Chandler Jones but sacrificing Yannick in the process feels like a bit of a push.  Chandler is a better player ATM but he's six years older and 4 mil more expensive.  But getting Rok Ya-Sin helps a ton.  Hoping they can still land a Gilmore or Mathieu, or both.

Picking Julio Jones up feels like a NE move to me and that doesn't mean not getting Robinson too.
This is the Patriots move, this could be ours:

Christian Kirk can't hold ARobs nutz. It ain't close. And Kirk has made ARob a 20 mill player. But the Bears, being the Bears, made him look bad his contract year. So no one wants to pay it.

So the move is you sign ARob for 1 year, like 17 Mill, let him get his big deal next year, and take the 3rd round comp pick.
