2022 Las Vegas Raiders (1 Viewer)

Hondo reports that we were in on the Honey Badger but both sides were firm on where they wanted to be on the contract and then the Saints came in. 

 
Waived Ragas. I mean, with the drafting two RB's and signing another UDFA, it isn't shocking but dang... I think he showed enough to have him compete in camp.

A fifth-round draft pick for wide receiver Zay Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars), a sixth-round pick for defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson (Seattle Seahawks) and a seventh-round pick for Nicholas Morrow (Chicago Bears).

We get a fifth-rounder back from what we originally traded for him with the Bills. He rode the bench for most of his time with us but stepped up and played well this year when we needed him. 

It's nice to get compensatory picks. We don't usually get any.

I kinda fell in love with Zay after last year and hope he lights it up with the Jags this year (except when they play us).

He is a super hard worker. It has been odd for him to never have made the impact expected. His career so far hasn't been 2nd round worthy. He clearly is talented and has all the physical attributes. Usually someone like him that doesn't pan out is because they don't put in the work but he was known basically out work all our WR's. Reportedly a good kid too. I wish him the best with a career on the rise.

It won’t go anywhere just like all the dirt on Snyder went nowhere. The NFL doesn’t do internal investigations of owners/teams in order to oust them or punish them, it does them to put on a front while they go about burying all evidence of any wrongdoing.

While I agree some, don’t forget that the NFL will most likely treat the Raiders differently than Washington.

Exactly. The league literally, not figuratively, career assassinated Gruden because... they're ####s.

 
It wouldnt the RAAAAYDAAAAS  if there wasnt some crazy 🙂 going on somewhere ,either on the field or in the front office....i pretty much expect it and when its quiet and running fine thats when i start getting nervous 😉

Gotta be honest with myself about this if it's anything like what is going on in Washington and it looks like there has been an institutional issue for years then I think Davis has to go. I have been calling for Snyder's ouster for awhile. I can't in good conscience not call for the same outcome if the offense is similar enough.

It would suck not to have a Davis at the helm for the first time ever, then again Moe Davis is the "poorest" owner in the league, it wouldn't suck to get some deep pockets in ownership.

This seems to come up a lot, but I don't get it.  They have a new stadium, he gave Gruden the richest HC contract in history and signing players isn't a problem.  Adams, Chandler Jones, the Carr extension.

I think the "Mark Davis is poor and it puts the Raiders at a disadvantage" narrative has never been legitimate, especially now.

He's worth half a billion or so, he ain't poor. However, relative to other NFL owners he absolutely is.

The move to Vegas was approved before Gruden was hired and, a long series of investors/lenders came and went (Sheldon Adelson,  Goldman Sachs, BofA etc) and the bottom line is, of course Davis will always be able to come up with capital, that's how he paid Gruden. But that's a lot different than having an outside fortune and adding an NFL team to the pile. It changes the decision making process.

He's got access to plenty of cash but is unquestionably at the bottom of the NFL fortune list. Of course IIRC the Brown family who own the Bengals is right there with him so it is hardly prohibitive to NFL success.

I can dig it but, yeah it kinda would. Very few teams truly have a mystique about them, Steelers, Cowboys, Packers, Raiders then a buncha fan bases making arguments for why they belong on the list but they really don't.

Davis created that mystique, heck he was that mystique and it will endure without a Davis in the catbird seat but it won't be the same.

We should all be saddened at the prospect even if the reason behind it is justified.

Snyder is and has always been a #########, no one will miss him and his legacy, least of all the WFT fan base.

That mystique was from young brash brilliant Al.  That's long gone.  That mystique also came from winning and winning our way - that at least can return.  Yes, it's a shame it needs to happen, but it wouldn't suck.  Mark is no young Al.  Young Al was brilliant, a pioneer, and more than anything else knew football and people and how to marry the two together.  Finding a way to bring in the cast of characters he did, then getting them to mesh, to work, to win - that's what the Raiders are.  It can happen again.  It would never suck to see this franchise return to the glory it deserves regardless of how it happens.

has anything been made public other than ventrelle’s statement?

I don’t care either way. Tommy boy is/has been kind of a joke. This off season was the most professional one he’s ever had.  If he goes, I won’t be upset. But the raiders have a history of inclusiveness. Amy Trask and all.

The allegation is an institutional pattern of workplace hostility with the implication of sexual harassment that was reported to ownership and not acted upon. That's pretty darn similar to what's going on in Washington.

Minus the weird money withholding thing, whatever that is.

One doesn't have to be a POS for this to still be true and we don't know what the allegations of hostility even are.  I know plenty of decent people that are shocked by what people consider "hostile" workplace and I have also heard some very outlandish claims of "workplace hostility" - for example, a guy I know went to HR because he wasn't allowed to have plants on his desk.  That's workplace hostility in 2022.  I can see how it's not hard to initially be dismissive (sexual overtones aside) of what some people try to pull off.

 
Kenny Young was college teammates with Jayon Brown, Kolton Miller, and Andre James. He then played with Micah Kiser on the Rams and Broncos.

I’m not saying he’s a POS. Others are comparing him to Dan Snyder. Who is a POS.  I really don’t know much about Tommy boy.  He doesn’t have a large public footprint. Other than that damn haircut. 
 

We have no clue as to the veracity of these claims. Time will tell.

They brought in another professional LB for a visit. 

Kwiat was in house for a FA visit. 

As I mentioned previously, Kwiat was a very bad fit for the Bradley defense but is a very good fit for the Graham defense. I expected them to cut him and I thought there was a good chance of them bringing him back for less. We shall see if they come to a contract agreement. You have to figure that there should be some big advantages in making it happen like the city, no income taxes, not having to move, etc. 

@DA RAIDERSdon't let your head explode of they do sign him. I promise you that if they do his performance will be much better.
