Let me enjoy this fam. Hardaway found his stroke, Daniel Gafford made Tatum his personal ***** to start the second half, Lively is back on track to be the second highest rookie playoff +/- ever, and YOU CAN'T BE THE ONLY TEAM EVER TO COME BACK FROM 3-0 UNLESS YOU GO DOWN 3-0 FIRST.

*I mean, Boston is obviously going to win. But it wouldn't be the first time they blew something like this.
Your joy is the only saving grace to this debacle.

How in the mother **** do I care more about winning this game than the team?

I'm so confused. I guess trying is hard, so don't? Must be a generation gap thing. Imagine MJ or Kobe losing a closeout game in the Finals by 40?!?
It's not 40, but close enough. (Lakers lost by 39 in the elimination game to lose the finals)

Good. I almost threw up typing Kobe in there.

I would love to fly to Boston for the game Monday, go to Banners kitchen and tap on Causeway st , watch the Celtics in their 18th NBA Championship and join the party on the streets of Boston .

Unfortunately ill be sitting in my living room in Palmetto Florida ...damn

Lets Go Celts

Congrats to Tatum, who became the first NBA player ever to have a +/- of -30 or worse in at least two finals games in his career. Well done!

But hey, by going 4 of 10 from the field (40%!!), he did have his 2nd best shooting night of these finals so far!

All that Tatum MVP talk still makes me a little sick.

Craziest stat from last night. Kyrie and Luka were a combined 1-14 from three. Rest of Dallas were 14-23
What was it with 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter?

I think the rest of the Mavs with real time during the portion of the game that mattered were 6/9. Everything else was garbage. Hilariously fun Hardaway heat-check extravaganza garbage, but garbage nonetheless.

6/9 is even better

Better percentage. But take away 9 points and it was still a 20+ point blowout. If we are searching for predictive value, I don't think Dallas' 3 points shooting is the reason this one went the way it did.

Was just an interesting stat...

To me, anyways

Mavs won with their Big 2 lacking 3 pt success

I'll bet they improve on them

Hope so. To win 3 more in a row, they'll likely need both the PJ/DJ/Exum/Maxi/Green crew to hit 35+% and for LuLai to do the same. Or at least net out to that among them all.

If Boston puts up 20 more 3s, that's a losing recipe. If Dallas can keep it within ~10 and win the offensive boards, they've got a chance.

I doubt the rest of the team shoots 61 percent from 3 again.

I am not sure we should read too much into game 4. Dallas was desperate and played great and Boston had one of those game they just seem to have.

I can't recall a team that was so dominate in the regular season with so many good players and they just all have a bad game at the same time and lose by 20 +

A few of their losses they have blow huge leads so they didn't lose by 20+ it just felt like it.

You can still get the Mavs +1200 to win the series if you’re feeling chipper. Personally I think it’s over tomorrow but they give it a good game.

by far the worst player to ever touch an NBA Finals floor and it's not close. it's a shame Boston fans have to watch him play.

I know, right? I am sure some Boston fans are secretly wishing Laimbeer would come out of retirement to give Tatum a forearm to the nads and knock him out of the series. :P

Laimbeer could go to a local elementary school in Boston and wouldn't be able to keep the kids out of the paint and his forearms wouldn't even knock them out fir the rest of recess.

How is there no game today?? The finals always plays on father’s day.

Same question, I was very surprised to see it wasn't on tonight.
They are changing cities. They almost always give an extra day when changing cities, even in the earlier rounds.
Yea, but since when didn’t they have a game scheduled for fathers day?
2023
2022
2021
2020
2019
2018
2017

I didn't go back any farther. They never play on Father's Day. Mostly because the finals is almost always over before Father's Day. Nice memories, whiners.

And they could have easily had a game if they didn't have the 3 day gap between 1 and 2

Game 1 - 6/6
Game 2 - 6/8
Game 3 - 6/11
Game 4 - 6/13
Game 5 - tonight 6/16

Possibly the last day of basketball, and of optimism:

1. We said beforehand that KP was critical, and Dallas seems to dominate whenever he has been out.
2. Luka, even injured, is the best player
3. Defensive rotations looked WAY more crisp Game 3.

At this point, just along for the ride and hoping for something truly exciting!!!

Listening to local sports talk radio today and it's comical how nervous the radio hosts and callers/fans are here in Boston. That game 4 blowout really instilled some doubt. I think partly because these fans have been let down so many times by Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox... it's almost expected.
I predict the final score to be BOS 105 - DAL 98.
Series ends tonight.

Any predictions for tonight's game?
Brown - 11/20, 8 assists, 7 boards, 27 pts
Tatum - 11/21, 6 assists, 11 boards, 24 pts

Celtics by 29

Boston fans won't be able to enjoy the title tomorrow as they are busily screeching in to their phones at sports radio hosts about how the Celtics need to move Tatum's dead weight if they hope to win another title ever again

I am kind of with everyone else here (which scares me) I think this is the Celtic three point barrage. They go something like 22 of 48 and win big. That or the Mavs win a close one.
