Agreed. Brown and Milton are decent end of rotation contributors for the regular season, but would not be playoff players, which Morris has a better chance of being. So just giving up that and a 2030 2nd seems like a no brainer.

agreed. they've basically been the worst team in the league for the last 4 years. if they are still banking on 2nd-round picks as being the savior, then they might as well just trade everyone. they need to give Cade a better ecosystem to see if he can really be the guy. the FA class this year is not that inspiring and they are not at the top of anyone's list, so I wouldn't be expecting them to create a major improvement that way. Getting the inside track on a guy who honestly may be one of the better free agents on the board seems smart.

if they don't re-sign him (unless they somehow do something else amazing with their space or somebody gives him some insane offer), then I will definitely criticize the move. for now, i think that it is a smart bet.

I don’t think the Bulls will do anything. There appears to be some smoke with them and Philly but I honestly don’t get what Philly could offer since the Bulls apparently aren’t sellers (they should be sellers but that’s beside the point).

The Pistons are already screwed. There’s no thing to even tear down. They have 4 mildly interesting prospects and that’s it. If they pay those guys and try to build a real NBA team out of this mess, they’ll end up stuck in the cycle of mediocrity, at best.

The upside is that tanking is a very viable NBA strategy. Fire Weaver, admit this decade is a lost cause, and you’ve actually got an attractive blank slate for a competent GM. But I doubt they do that. They’ll let Weaver try to salvage the mess he’s made and that will probably set them back another decade.

As a have not in the basketball world you have to try to catch lighting with these picks. They have no second round picks until 2027. That is stupid.

Presumably, Ivey and Duren, but they have another year to figure that out.

But the days of having 40-60 million in cap space to try to do something magical are coming to an end this offseason.

This is a pretty nice deal for the NYK. I will give up 2s all day long. Grimey is a nice piece, but replaceable. Essentially, McBride is already Grimes. Burks and Bog have no long term commitment and i think Bog has a 24-25 contract with only $2mm guaranteed. Both can shoot and Bog is a big body, which the NYK need. Especially now since everyone is dead.
