This game feels like it's gonna go one of two ways: Luka reminds a team who daddy is and blows them out irreparably by the 3rd quarter, like he does to Devin Booker, or Minnesota is gonna claw back and I'm going to be very nervous about the reverse sweep.
That Game 7 in Phoenix was 57-27 at half time, a 30 point lead.

It's 69-40 in Minnesota. 29 points.

Well, best season in 20 years and probably the most fun Wolves season I've ever had, since 20 years ago I didn't realize it would be this miserable of a franchise. Definitely a successful year, even though we went out with an absolute whimper. I think the moment was just too big for these guys and it showed. One more year of experience, and these playoffs reps, should help for the future. I'm very pleased overall.

I am also extremely impressed with Dallas and I will be rooting for them in the Finals even though @Instinctive is being so mean tonight.

Wolves back!

Poor Wolves. Luka punched them in their collective mouth early, and they seemingly tapped out almost immediately. Some may not like Luka, but he is so good.

Sorry Frosty. This has been a really good series. Ant is amazing and exciting, Gobert is too maligned on D, but easy to hate. Seeing Luka magic happen almost every game has been awesome.

I really hope the Finals goes a similar way, and having the best player makes a difference, and the rest makes a difference, but I think Boston wins in five. 3 double digit wins, a close one that doesn't quite go Dallas' way, and a close one they win like it's never in doubt. Although Boston could have the same interior defense problem as prior teams and KP is nowhere near Gobert's level on D...Holiday, Tatum, White, and Brown are all better defenders and better equipped to guard Luka than anyone on the Wolves' perimeter.

And to defend myself, I should note I'm being way less mean than Stan Van Gundy and Reggie Miller. Those guys are not pulling any punches.

Looking at next year, the Wolves are famously in a rough cap situation, but the good news is that other than Kyle Anderson everyone who matters will be back. All five starters plus Naz and NAW are still under contract. They also have Josh Minott, Wendell Moore, Leonard Miller, and Jaylen Clark under contract and need one or more of those guys to become a rotation guy. We also have our first and a Memphis second that is early in the round, and need to get a PG of the future and someone who can contribute immediately.

Good chance next year is the last year with this group since in 2025-26 Rudy will be on his final year (assuming he takes is player option), Naz will be in his final year (if he takes his player option - not a guarantee), Conley will be in his final year, and NAW will be a UFA.

I don't know what the future holds, but we have Ant and Jaden locked down until 2029 and just made the WCF. That feels damn good.

Did yall pick up on the Luka words to Snoop? Pretty sure he said "Who's crying now mother ****er"
That's why Luka is great. Someone like Russell Westbrook would have already cried to the officials to have the fan kicked out for teasing him and hurting his feelings. Luka has a good time with it and trash talks the fans right back.
Westbrook wouldn't have whined about getting Snoop kicked out. GTFO with that

I think there's only 4 guys in Dallas from the WCF two years ago and one of them (Powell) never plays. (Luka, Maxi, Green, Powell) And I think Green basically didn't play.

So there's plenty of hope, especially with Connelly (a good GM) to retool with the foundational pieces.

Yeah he would have got the nobody at centercourt kicked out for calling him Westbrick.

Luka would never https://www.si.com/nba/suns/news/luka-doncic-gets-fan-kicked-out-phoenix-suns-dallas-mavericks

Last post for me, but as much as Ant has seemed to struggle in this series and as much as the moment has looked too big for him at times, he's likely to finish this series with averages of 23ppg, 8rpg, and 8apg. The only other players in history to average those numbers in a conferece finals are Larry Bird, Luka, Lebron, and Jokic. Not bad.

Of course...wasn't that game in Dallas, not on the road, and it was later revealed by surrounding fans that he was cursing at Doncic the entire half, and around children, including slurs? Or did that only make local news, not national?

Same same though to anyone who defends Phoenix :lmao: Haters gonna hate. Especially after theyve received a vicious series-ending *** kicking of their own.

I swear, Luka is the new LeBron. No matter how much great stuff he does, some just love to complain about him. Makes for entertaining chatter in these threads, if nothing else.

Meh. There is one simple thing that Luka can do to get a million times more goodwill. The guy could be as beloved as Jokic and Giannis but nope

Beloved by whom? The national media seemingly goes out of their way to not give too much love to the superstars who aren't from America. That's why they are fawning over Ant and SGA now, because they want the new face of the NBA to be a domestic guy.

Everyone I know who follows basketball pretty much all love Jokic and Giannis and as you mentioned, Ant and SGA. Not seeing the anti-American thing you are. Mostly seeing an anti-whining. Luka has the same issue as Embiid, Booker, Trae, Tatum, etc.

I still find it strange that some are bothered more by Luka's whining (which I have said before, I wish he would tone down) than SGA's flopping, which is incessant. Whining is annoying, for sure, but when flopping is a regular part of your game, I find that to be pretty lame.

That's fine. If you are cool with floppers, you do you.
