You have to - you know - actually win that OOC game. No points for just scheduling.

Yes, that is my point. Texas went on the road to Alabama and won. If they don't get the credit for it, then what is even the point of taking those risks?

Gotcha. No, AAA was saying teams like Bama won't schedule tough OOC games if losing them costs them a playoff spot. Which I get but the reverse is true. We are on the same page here.

Because it's messy. I think 6-8 teams is the max they should do for postseason. If it's 16 teams or whatever these games would be so much less impactful.

With the P5 I always thought 8 was the magic number. 5 conference champs auto-qualify, than 3 at large and you could basically guarantee then that any undefeated non-P5 team is getting one of those spots.

With 4 mega conferences I think we could get away with only 6 teams, but would still be okay with 8. I think 12 is too many.

Hey, I hate UGA more than all of you combined but it’s ridiculous to think they shouldn’t be at worst top 3 but IMO #1 is fair. Not sure they can be faulted for Florida and Tenn sucking. They beat a good Missouri team, and murdered most everybody else including a good Ole Miss team. Kentucky who is average SEC school beat the 2nd best ACC team. I get folks hate the SEC but there’s a reason they’ve won 4 in a row and 5 of 6 titles.

The sec is likely the best conference this year (debatable) and hell Georgia may well win it if they get in. But you don’t get a free pass based on previous seasons. They’re an abundance of good teams this year and somebody is getting squeezed.

and as Michigan fan, I totally acknowledge their schedule was cotton candy for most of the year. But you run the table in a major conference, I think you should get in. You beat who is front of you. Bama-Texas played and Texas beat who was in front of them.

It won’t matter with the expansion but Bama winning the SEC and getting left out for playing and losing to Texas would have been horrible for OOC scheduling.

You know what would be worse for OOC scheduling? Texas GOING TO Alabama and beating them on their turf, then winning their conference and still being left out in favor of the team they beat.
