which means he's gone by noon today.
This is what scares me the most......Lawrence is a no brainer reset to me....Fields or other QB...not so much....it would be very Jet like to slog through this awful season and have to settle for a #2/3pick.Yeah, it COULD be Mike Glennon time for a few weeks in Jax. The Jets better not do something stupid and win a game.

Sports Illustrated's John Shipley expects Jake Luton to start Week 9 against the Texans.
The Jaguars have yet to rule out Gardner Minshew (thumb), but the signs point to them making a change. Minshew was already at risk of getting benched before his injury. Jacksonville likely wants to see what they have in Luton — the most efficient quarterback in the Pac-12 last year. Luton (6'6/224) has prototype size and could open up the offense more than Minshew (6.9 YPA). Jacksonville turning to Luton would potentially be a boost to D.J. Chark's value.
As a non-Mahomes owner(I'm a fortunate Kyler Murray owner in both my leagues), I can see the trepidation as I would certainly be nervous as well at starting him.As a Mahomes owner I’m actually a little nervous to start him this week. I figure KC will get so far ahead they will run the ball into the ground and pull Mahomes before the second half. I’m half tempted to start Tannehill instead.
Luton. Jake Luton. His talent stands in the way between us and Lawrence. Get to know him well, he'll be a subplot to our year.what
Fair, I just wasn't sure what Luton had to do with the Jets thread lol.Luton. Jake Luton. His talent stands in the way between us and Lawrence. Get to know him well, he'll be a subplot to our year.
He earns high remarks from his OC, too. Anybody that can get the ball to Chark is someone I support being the Jaguars quarterback.I love Luton though. Have seen him play a ton.
This Chark owner is right there with you on this one. Hopefully this dude Luton is going tobe able to throw the rock downfield and heavily target Chark...we shalt see.He earns high remarks from his OC, too. Anybody that can get the ball to Chark is someone I support being the Jaguars quarterback.
Just think. We drafted knee brace before Luton, and knee brace is never gonna see an NFL field. This Chark owner is right there with you on this one. Hopefully this dude Luton is going tobe able to throw the rock downfield and heavily target Chark...we shalt see.
Meantime I'm going to head over the YT and watch some highlights of this kid Luton seeing I never ever heard of him as he was far far off my radar. I hope to like what I see...hmmmm
I must be in a fog or having a brain cramp but who are you referring too with regards to "knee brace".rockaction said:Just think. We drafted knee brace before Luton, and knee brace is never gonna see an NFL field.
Because there was discussion about Jax trying to out-tank the Jets by benching Minshew and then...Deamon said:Fair, I just wasn't sure what Luton had to do with the Jets thread lol.

James Morgan, 4th round selection at quarterback, Florida International, property of the NY Jets.I must be in a fog or having a brain cramp but who are you referring too with regards to "knee brace".
All I know is thank the good lord the Jags in the 6th round took Luton two picks ahead of our MVP this season as I simply want to fathom the thought in my head because I simply don't know where we'd be withought punter Braden Mann....lol....
Ahhh...wasn't aware Morgan ad knee braces were a thing. Still scratch my head at that pick at that time in the draft by JD.James Morgan, 4th round selection at quarterback, Florida International, property of the NY Jets.
Yeah, mea culpa. Should have just used his name. The fact that he's already in a knee brace leaves me further scratching my head about the pick. He's not coming off the bench to fool people with run-pass options, it would seem.Ahhh...wasn't aware Morgan ad knee braces were a thing. Thx tho. Hopefully for our sake, Luton is plays well....fingers crossed
Halfway home
Is this an intentional thing?Great job by the jets today, most high school teams couldn't hold malhomes to just 5 tds.
No, I generally can't spell and there's no spellchecker for names. Is this an intentional thing?
Sorry, I'm not trying to be a jerk. There's no "L".No, I generally can't spell and there's no spellchecker for names.
It's all good, didn't take any offense.Sorry, I'm not trying to be a jerk. There's no "L".
I know he has put up decent tackle numbers. Is he a good player? Can he cover?Williamson traded to Pittsburgh with a 7th round pick in 2022 for a 5th round pick in 2022.
No, he can't cover, but he's a very good tackler. Good effort. Coming off an ACL injury last year.I know he has put up decent tackle numbers. Is he a good player? Can he cover?
Oh Dear Christ. I just added Robert Spillane after the Bush injury and his subsequent playing time, didn't start him today while he earned thirty-two points, and now he's last week's news, turning both of my starting LBs next week into rotational guys. No, he can't cover, but he's a very good tackler. Good effort. Coming off an ACL injury last year.
Not to scare this thread but if the Pats lose out they almost certainly pick before the Jets.
Only 2 different games on their respective schedules (thus those 2 determine stregth of schedule tiebreaker):
Jets play/played Indianapolis and Cleveland (10-5 combined record)
Pats play/played Houston and Baltimore (6-8)

The Jets are not beating the Patriots. The Patriots almost beat the Bills today, and they're much better than their record. Not to scare this thread but if the Pats lose out they almost certainly pick before the Jets.

Gase is going to out-coach BB? Sure. It's probably too close to the game to buy end of the world insurance. Not to scare this thread but if the Pats lose out they almost certainly pick before the Jets.

My friend was crying about it. I said, "lol, how much do you really think he is worth?"Yeah, he's a straight ahead 2 down LB. Not much more.
As always, the twitter comments prove just how many idiots are out there. Some people are actually complainiMng that the Jets "got nothing" for him. More than happy with the deal, as it gives them some potential ammo to move around in the draft.
And he's a free agent at the end of the year.My friend was crying about it. I said, "lol, how much do you really think he is worth?"
I'll take anything at this point including the added cap savings that we can carry over. Keep selling. And he's a free agent at the end of the year.
Some people are silly
Thanks. Sounds like a one year rental that willl help shore up the run D. Steelers 3rd ILB Ulysees Gilbert III has a back injury that may be serious. No, he can't cover, but he's a very good tackler. Good effort. Coming off an ACL injury last year.
Outside of M Sanders, I can't recall anyone running on the Steelers. Man, Tuitt played a monster game. He was everywhere today. It seems like most RBs don't even get past the Pitt linemen.Thanks. If he signs a decent deal n the offseason Steelers mat be able to get a 6th-7th round comp pick.
It may be the ultimate test of Belichick's evil magic if he can devise 2 game plans to lose to Gase and get Lawrence.Gase is going to out-coach BB? Sure. It's probably too close to the game to buy end of the world insurance.
Pats won’t lose out. They should have won today and there’s no chance they lose to the Jets twice. Not to scare this thread but if the Pats lose out they almost certainly pick before the Jets.

He's already made more plays than Stephen Hill. Definitely has talent - which means he'll never be healthy.Mims looks like he could be a player with the right offensive gameplan.
Sometimes I think the fans get the team they deserve. The Jets group on Facebook has people pissed about what they got for Williamson and questioning why they're trading players for late picks. My friend was crying about it. I said, "lol, how much do you really think he is worth?"
I would say that Gase is in on the tank job, but we all know he's just incompetent. I just want to see how Mims looks, and he looks explosive and strong on the ball. Hopefully he's a building block for whatever happens next season. Sign a guy like JJSS to go with Mims and Crowder and that's a receiving corp. that can be dangerous once the line gets built.I mean....of course mims gets literally zero targets in the 2nd half after making that great catch earlier in the game. It's just how the Jets work.
I seriously can't imagine how the handful of competent people in that organization feel going to work every day
