2023 Philadelphia Eagles - Complete waste of a season finally comes to an end. (4 Viewers)

James Bradberry passer rating allowed in man vs. zone coverage

Man -- 108.9, 7 pass TD allowed
Zone -- 60.9, 2 pass TD allowed

Bradberry was in man on the GW TD given up to Jaxson Smith-Njigba

Kinda wished we moved on and played some young guys
Yea. Hindsight and all that but if they had been playing all year, they'd probably have worked through all their growing pains by now.

And now you have AJ Brown arguing with fans on Twitter 😂 🤦‍♂️
Dude needs to go
Guy always came off to me as one of those overly massive manly men that have too much testosterone and are always quick to anger and be confrontational....you know the type, idk, maybe someone just like DK Metcalf.

Hurts has certainly however, developed an over-reliance on him. As much as Smith is used, he's still underutilized in the offense. There's currently a difference of 39 targets between AJB and Smith on the year (141-102). Smith is too often killing dudes underneath while Hurts chucks it to AJB in double coverage.

Compare that to last year's regular season, where the targets were much more evenly distributed, and the pass game a bit tougher to predict (AJB 145-136 Smith).

Makes me wonder how much Brown is in Jalen's ear on a weekly basis ever since he was crying in week 3.
It’s a lot more people try to smooth that week3 or whatever it was issue off but it seems like it was a big problem. Hurts was here when the Wentz stuff went down so I think he’s trying to satisfy the problem but is just making things worse for the offense. Either the team needs an OC and QB coach who don’t take **** or they grab two new guys and trade brown. Only issue is I think the cap hit they’d take
Lol, no. What team has ever jettisoned not only their first year play caller, but also their recently signed $250 million QB AND a top 3-4 WR in the league. This city would burn to the ground if they tried that.

I said before the game I was looking forward to seeing Kelee Ringo and he didn't disappoint. He's a big dude and plays with some fire. Looking forward to seeing him grow.

One of the Philly sportswriters suggested that the failure to integrate the young players in the secondary during the season was part of the reason that Desai was demoted.

Pretty sure he means get a new OC and QB coach.
Which is pretty likely to happen if this continues and they fall flat in the playoffs.
AJ Brown isnt going anywhere. He's not cuttable or tradeable this offseason.

@DJackson10 is the only one I remember since the beginning of last season that was pumping the brakes on Hurts. And boy did he take heat for it. Seems like a lot of eagles fans on this board owe him an apology. Or at the very least admit he was right
He wasn't right, he said he was a RB. Struggling with this new OC/play caller and missing reads doesn't mean he's a running back. Hurts has literally made these kinds of reads before - he's regressed. Three of the last 4 games he's has completion percentages below 60% - yea, that's bad. He also didn't have a single game below 62% before that. He threw for 71% in the Super Bowl - the talent is there, and the old takes of "he's just a running back" are still bad takes. But there's still no question he needs some serious fixing.

He’s also tied for the league lead in turnovers. What excuses are you going to give him for that..coaching? Playcalling?

you're right-I read that wrong. Still take issue with the idea of trading Brown.

Also, we’re all on a fantasy football message board. The amount of players we are wrong about is most likely into the thousands so let’s not try to win the tallest midget contest lol

100%. It’s crazy the stamina he has though. We’re years into trolling and fishing random people on a message board for kicks. It’s remarkable and sad at the same time.

Carry on with the oral

Same spin over and over and over. You’ve done it for years and than play the victim when called on it.

FYI, it’s 2023 and extremely easy to see trolling and fishing. It’s an old trick that only weirdos carry on with nowadays. It’s like prank calling someone lol.

Noone is playing the victim. Just enjoying the Eagles failing after months of reading how fantastic they are every day. And giving credit to the one fan who wasn’t wearing the green goggles , as I was all along actually

The only thing I’ve been right so far was a decline from last year. If he has another season like this then we can talk about being right on other stuff

Just a normal happy person who carves out hours and hours over years to stir the pot. We see you.

I have seen a couple takes on this.

1. Wow the Eagles offense is so predicable (true)
and
2. Also, the Niners have this play in their playbook so it was easily Identifiable
Shane seems to put more of the blame onto the design (Gainwell outside) and the OL missing key blocks.

I’m honestly not sure how to take it. If every play is designed right and blocked great they’d all work lol.

I feel most people on here tend to argue in terms of fantasy player they are not the actual real human player. Lamar jackson is probably the best QB in terms of fantasy when he’s on but he’s not even in my top 5 human factor QBs

Eh, most of my posts are at work and I’ve got a mini computer in my pocket

It is sad that rival fans can’t poke at each other on a message board without people getting butthurt, wouldn’t you agree?

Didn’t you use your handle at thehuddle back in the day?

The arguments are definitely mixed. The overall point is that there isn’t a single person here that’s not wrong about tons of players in just one season.

I was going to say most teams have a few similar plays in their playbooks so CMC probably noticed that. There’s a few heck from madden playbooks exact to to us called. Eagles TD vs Buff was a bunch 3WR fake screen deep in that’s in madden. Ton of orbit plays as well. So if you are around long enough you can see certain plays. Some people think playing madden is a waste of time but it’s kind of helpful. There’s at least 10 plays the Eagles have run imho that I’ve seen over the last 10 yrs in madden and the Philly special is still in there. Wish they added Philly Philly that they ran year after.

Last year: Rachaad White sucks!
This year: Rachaad White is awesome!

The only thing sad is that this has been your position for years. You enjoy it. Again, this isn’t hard to see and it’s sad.

It’s 2023 and I don’t understand how a troll is still a thing. I can think of a million better things to do than go into a place I don’t enjoy to cause issues and see the reaction of bigboy10182000.

But “lighten up Francis”…..”carry on with the oral”…..”I can’t understand why you get upset”……”I keep getting reported”. It’s pathetic.

Let me make sure I have this right....Eagles lost a quality starting OG to Pittsburgh, had their OC/DC leave, lost a DB that had the most interceptions, lost 2 quality LBs, lost a premier DL
-I could send all that to most NFL teams and they would make the Playoffs with what Philly lost in the off season

And yet they started 10-1?
If they had gone 3-2, 6-3, then 10-4, would we be having this same discussion? No, but they lost 3 in a row and everyone is ready to hit the panic or eject button

I'm not a Philly fan but I sure admire what they have put together quickly there. Most teams would have just kept going after the SB and many thought they were nuts firing Pederson and a lot of personnel changes but they have proven to be progressive and ahead of things. Maybe the GM deserves a lot of credit

There is going to be some hollow victories the next 3 weeks vs inferiors, but its a chance to get RIGHT!
Maybe you will go on the road to open the Playoffs but if you all do win out and Dallas were to say lose to Miami down at the Hard Rock at 4:30 on X-Mas Eve...the narrative could change quickly.

But say you all did open on the road at Tampa Bay, you're beating Mayfield and then you likely are at San Fran the next week, you can't avoid them in the Playoffs so no matter where the game is played you gotta face them again and you will. If you were to pull that off, maybe a showdown in Big D?

No matter how you slice it, you gotta beat Dallas and San Fran, you've beaten them both between the '22 and '23 season, it's not an impossibility by any stretch
Lick your wounds and heal up, be ready to fight back soon
I still think Hurts is maybe 80-85%, he looks slow when he tucks and runs, wish he would just throw it away and not take the hits.

If we had sorta started off rocky and "eventually figured things out" it would be one thing, meaning that we kinda struggled with the changes but slowly adapted and changed and improved.

But the reality is we were 10-1 and were pretty lucky to get there. We had a ton of defensive injuries and the noticeable bad play calling on offense only got louder and louder and now the truth is we have done the opposite of improve, we have regressed - the bad play calling has caught up with us both in execution and what film (read very predictiable offense) and a defense so bad they we soft-fired our DC.

What teams have the luxury of promoting a Matt Patricia to Defensive Coordinator with 4 weeks left in the season?
You make it sound like they soft-fired the DC and inserted the Asst Special Teams Coach

The Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2012 as I recall and they fired their OC pretty far into the season, Cam Cameron
It's not unprecedented where good teams make very difficult changes or decisions, Patricia will help when they get into the Playoffs, that man is battle tested as a DC

I do agree with you, it does seem they might have regressed a bit and it was probably that way all season but the record covered up some of it.

Hurts deserves all the smoke coming his way.
I mean Hurts didn't give up a 92 yard 2 minute drill TD.
Hurts had 143 yards, 0 TD's and 2 INT's passing. Yea the defense collapsed that drive, but that doesn't excuse that miserable performance. Sam Howell threw for 300 and 3 TD's. Prescott and almost 300 and 3 TD's. Even the Brown's PJ Walker was able to eclipse that mystical 200 yard mark vs the Seahawks. Andy Dalton had 300+ yards vs them this year. Hurts couldn't break 150. They had the ball at midfield with a little over 2 minutes remaining - and he couldn't ice it or complete a pass.
You're conveniently ignoring his 82 yards rushing and 2 TDs and that his 2nd INT was a necessary end of game play. But sure, that was not his best game.

He plays quarterback though.

He didn’t make the reads, guys were wide open because when you’re playing 11v10 because the defense is worried about the QB running it’s easy to hit the first option.

But you guys can’t see that when it’s happening. This is a rinse and repeat of RGIII. In 2012 I said the same exact stuff but everybody just said I’m a hater and he was a magician at reading defenses.

Now that Hurts is either hurt or unwilling to run, defenses play him differently. Defenses also adjust with a year of film. Like how they figured out Hurts isn’t great at throwing while moving to his left.

Take your medicine without all the sanctimony.

"he's just a running back" is a bad take because Hurts is not a good runner. He's an indecisive straight line runner and a proudct of the Douche Pouche

I still think Hurts is maybe 80-85%, he looks slow when he tucks and runs, wish he would just throw it away and not take the hits.
I think it’s more people are realizing the problems on this team now. If they had started out slow with a worse record we aren’t having this conversation in the way we are. I think reality is just setting in now for a lot of fans

The problems progressively worse now. This wasn’t hey rough patch and we figured things out. This is, we’re having the same issues as early in the year and nothing seems to be fixed or adapted. Do the talent plus some low IQ football of opponents were lucky we aren’t closer to .500 record.

@DJackson10 is the only one I remember since the beginning of last season that was pumping the brakes on Hurts. And boy did he take heat for it. Seems like a lot of eagles fans on this board owe him an apology. Or at the very least admit he was right

The only thing I’ve been right so far was a decline from last year. If he has another season like this then we can talk about being right on other stuff

At the same time I’m not looking to float. Maybe just taken more seriously with my concerns, not called a hater (some think I’m a racist some how), not a real fan etc. I just got back to work after 3 months out for elbow surgery and my one manager is a giants fan. I told him I couldn’t argue with how bad we the eagles have been. If I had been at work for the past 3 months he’d have heard me express those concerns the last 3 months

Oh you were forced in here to listen to us? It’s hard to turn away when you have nothing else I guess.
This is such a horrible take
Yet here you are 🤷‍♂️ 😂
I try to talk some smack on a message board with some rival fans and according to you “I have nothing else”. It’s weak sauce and you all are as soft as as it gets. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I spent alot of time on a board that slowly died and it was a lot of fun giving and getting ****. Apparently that’s never going to happen here. I guess I’ll have to hold out hope the Giants and Washington get better soon
