@Capella
I think this is all the unprotected picks kicking around for next years draft

San Antonio has Atlantas unprotected 1st
Oklahoma City has Clippers unprotected swap
Utah has Clevelands unprotected 1st
Utah has Minnesota unprotected 1st
New Orleans has Laker unprotected 1st
New Yorkhas Milwaukee 1st protected 5-30
Houston has Phoenix unprotected swap

You are correct

Then again, you think any player that doesn't make the all-NBA defensive team is a "terrible" defender as well.
Say what now?
Here! What’s up?
@Jayrod explain yourself!!
During the last couple of drafts it seemed like you'd chome in on every other pick with "he's a terrible defender". Guys like Franz Wagner and Malcolm Brogdon. Seemed like if they weren't up for DPOY honors you deemed them "terrible". Now you are saying 33.3% from 3 is "terrible".

I'm also just messing with you.

Hey, look a big man that can't stretch the floor is available, welcome to the Pistons Paul Reed.
I listened to two podcasts that mentioned Isaiah Stewart as a trade candidate. Does he shoot too well for the team to be comfortable with? Why is he on the block (if he is)?

Wow, the Spurs could legit end up with Wemby and Flagg.
I put the chances real low. They have two shots with their own pick and Atlanta. But Atlanta has no incentive to tank, so they will be pushing for the play in. And Wemby is probably too damn good for San Antonio to really push for bottom 5 team

What podcasts do you listen to for NBA?

Lowe podcast and Dunc'd on Podcast for me.
If you are going to listen to Duncan, at least listen to Duncan and Hollinger so at least one person on the podcast knows what they are talking about.

I also listen to Game Theory with Sam Vecenie; he’s very good. I’ll periodically listen to the Athletic NBA show.

I think that the reason is that he is still sort of a tweener and unclear whether he can really shoot well enough at a high volume to make a difference. If they are hoping that duren is the center of the future, he and Stewart don’t fit that well together since Stewart’s real value would be playing at the 5. So I think that there is some logic to the idea of trying to move Stewart now before his value drops. They also used to have more of a logjam in the front court, so maybe now it will be less of an issue. Using those 2 in a center rotation could be worthwhile, at least until/if duren gets paid.

https://www.tankathon.com/ currently projects the Spurs and Hawks to finish 9th and 10th, which would net them a 34.2% chance of scoring a top-4 pick and a 7.5% chance of winning the top pick.

Will be interesting to see what happens with CHA and CHI too. Currently Spurs have CHI FRP (top-10 protection) and CHA (top-14 protected). It's expected that both teams will finish in the lottery, but with the degrees of tanking we'll see this year, it would not surprise me too much if at least one make the playoffs. I could see CHA putting a competent team on the court this year (by eastern conference standards). Kind of the hope the Chicago pick does not convey this year, as its protection drops to top-8 the next two seasons; besides, it will be difficult enough as it is to add two more rookies to the roster , though I suppose trading another first rounder for a pick seven years into the future is in the cards.

For the record, I'm pretty bullish on the Spurs this season if they stay healthy. I believe they are done with major roster changes this summer, but if they are in the hunt for a playoff position in February, they'll probably have access to the pick of the litter come the trade deadline. If Markannen is not extended by then, watch out!

Note to self: Drop a couple of dimes on the Spurs to win the championship at +15,000. And soon, because if Wemby leads France to the gold, that number will go way down.

Right - he can shoot well enough, but doesn't rim protect and can't put the ball on the floor, so he's limited at either the 4 or the 5.

He's also the one piece that might be useful to an actual contender, so I think they're more in the 'explore what someone would give us' mode than actively trying to get rid of him. Other than Cade, anyone on the team is obtainable for the right offer, which makes sense for a team that just won 14 games.

I listen to Hollinger and Duncan, assumed it was same umbrella.

There are no good Orlando Magic specific podcasts so it looks like I'll probably start one before they become a dynasty and I can be the next Windhorst.

"Now why is that?"

I just feel like Atlanta could fall off the cliff.

I actually think Atlanta could be sneaky decent next year.

US v Canada tonight at 1030 on FS1.

Really strong tests in the lead up for US. I am not confident they will get gold.

US is adding Derrick White for Leonard. That seems about perfect to me

Kawhi is withdrawing from the Olympic team
someone on a podcast the other day quipped that Leonard was spotted limping, while walking with a cane and i couldn't decide if that was a zinger or the truth
wasn’t an actual cane, it was a roller suitcase and he was clearly using the handle as one would a cane, and he had a definite limp. I think USA bb posted it on Twitter, it was the intro video of them all showing up to camp.

If I could find a field bet I’d probably take it. Something feels off about our team, we’re kinda old and I’m not sure they are gonna figure out the lineups. Kerr didn’t do a stellar job at the world championships either. France is at home and Wemby/Gobert are going to make it pretty dang tough to score

Gobert can't shut down Embiid. And guarding KD, Tatum and ANT is a tall order as well.

ETA: I feel like Embiid playing for team USA is cheating but he is a difference maker.

Perfect opportunity for opponents to show up wearing Nugget jerseys.

Is that how the joke works?

FIBA refs aren’t gonna send him to the line like he is used to though. I worry about him in this format.

Kawhi is withdrawing from the Olympic team

I don’t think anyone could have seen that coming.
He neve should have been on the team to begin with. It's disrespectful to the Clippers.
:lmao:
What?
He missed a ton of games for him employer. Including playoff games. Instead of preparing for the 24-25 season. He's playing more and risking his health.
Now. Do you understand?

Thought the same thing watching some of Team USA's scrimmage against the Select Team. They had the refs calling fouls like it was an NBA regular season game.

If the goal of having the refs was to simply keep the scrimmage competitive and maintain the pace of play ...fine. However, if the goal was to get the team ready for FIBA officiating they were certainly calling way too many incidental contact fouls. If they really want to get the team ready for FIBA play, throw in a really bad call against them every quarter and hit players with a technical for any demonstration of frustration with calls (which is also a personal foul in FIBA).

Surprised Jaylen Brown didn't get the spot. White is a great glue guy type though.

He is who I thought of as well. Maybe he said no? Weren't there other players who were in the Olympic Pool, but they didn't pick for the final roster as well?

Please don't use the :lmao: emoji to laugh at other posters when they're clearly not trying make a joke.

We've had this discussion multiple times. The emoji can be useful if people don't use to mock others. But please don't use it that way so we can keep it.

I hope this wasn't about my Orlando Magic podcast.
There actually is a Locked on Magic podcast, though you may have been referencing it not being good.

Promise I didn't just use the laugh emoji that way to be snarky - some of the quotes of the mod post were funny in a way only the FFA can pull off and why I think we love this place.
