2024-25 NBA Thread: Thunder starting to question having 140 pound guy playing in post in Finals (41 Viewers)

Another buzzer beater for James, but the idiots out there will still say he isn't clutch.

Your pearl clutching for Lebron is unmatched. Are you related?
You should see his Taylor Swift posts.

There will be NO besmirching the great Swift in this thread!
I like some of her music fine - but I surely don’t follow her dating history and the crowd she hangs with and gush over her like young girls and some adult males do.

I don't know why anybody follows anyone's dating history, but this certainly predates Taylor Swift. I mean, the entire tabloid industry is built upon celebrity dating and has been for decades. She's not singular there. Hell, isn't Real Housewives of the NBA the most popular show on trash television?

I digress. Folklore is one of the best albums that's been released in 20 years and I'll go to my grave with that belief. She could look like Susan Boyle and date the Lochness Monster and I would consider that album a masterpiece.

I think the Wizards got a little nervous after going 6-4 over a 10-game stretch and now all their vets are coming down with injuries. Now guys like Jaylen Martin, Colby Jones, and JT Thor are getting big minutes. And yet they still beat the 76ers last night, after losing five in a row. I suspect Poole will be "injured" soon. Not much risk of losing a bottom-three record, but they need to continue giving their youngest players the most minutes possible.

Had the #2 pick in a dynasty draft this year and was very ho-hum about drafting Alex Sarr, but I'm very pleased with him and his +8 +/- last night.
I like what I've seen recently. He's been much more aggressive as the season has progressed. He averaged 11 FGA/G in his first 41 games and is averaging 15 over his last 16 games. He took a clutch shot last night to seal the game. I'd like to see him get a bit more physical. He tried to catch a body last night and missed the dunk, but it was good to see him go for it. He usually tries to avoid contact and go for the layup, even against smaller guys. He's young so he should add some weight the next few years. Hopefully he can do that without sacrificing improvement from three point range.

LeBron now has a buzzer beating game winner against the Pacers as a member of the Cavs, Heat, and Lakers.
I think I saw on SportsCenter this morning that LBJ has 8 game-winners, trailing only Jordan (9).
Tied at 8 with Kobe and . . . Joe Johnson.
5 of Lebron's 8 have come in the playoffs
Only 3 of Jordan's did

To be fair, LeBron has never played with a clutch shooter as good as Steve Kerr, so there's that. Hell of a coach now too.

Hey now don't forget about my boy John Paxson.

Tonight's Lakers - Bulls matchup will be one of the higher inticipated games in some time from a Chicago POV. They have played very well since trading Lavine, and just beat the Lakers by 30+ last week in LA. I'm sure the Lakers will be far more prepared this time, but young legs are a big deal this ttime of year.

Coby White has been nuclear in the month of March (30-5-4). Back to back Eastern Conference player of the week. Playing like one of the best players in the league right now.

Bulls playing such a fun brand of basketball right now as a young team expected to do nothing this season.

Alex Sarr looked decent last night on offense. Albeit against the Phil wheeler-led Top-6ers

What to you think of Buzelis' potential?

His potential is great, it’s on the Bulls to develop him - this has been a problem with their draft picks.

Buzelis / Bulls:

He certainly doesn't have a lot of weaknesses outside of the need to put on weight. His confidence has grown leaps and bounds. I think his potential is one that could be an All Star type. The worst case he's an excellent complimentary player. Most likely is probably somewhere in between.

I think he's an excellent fit alongside Giddey & White. I've always been a huge fan of Coby White. I think the guy is a borderline star that can play both on and off ball and is finally getting that full opportunity with no Derozan and no Lavine. He's got the best non-rookie contract in the league right now. I've read that actually might hurt the Bulls chances of retaining him if he continues to play anywhere close to his currently level.

In their current wide open form, Giddey/White/Buzelis are excellent. And fun to watch. Wish Ayo were healthy as he'd be thriving In this system as well. Maybe they're not more than a ~.500 but it's nice to have young long term potential pieces and rid of the bad contracts and Iso ball. I think if you slow down the game, the Bulls will lose more often than not. I love building teams with guys that can play on & off the ball. I have my future concerns with Giddey if the Bulls want to get to the next level, but he's got the ball now and is running with it. They've got 3 in White/Buzelis/Ayo that can play on/off ball.

I think this upcoming draft will have a lot of options for the Bulls. I imagine them focusing on frontcourt. While it's more likely than not he's gone before their pick, I'm probably most interested to see how the NBA values Derik Queen. Asa Newell is another player that'd fit well with their current team. Maluach is a mammoth defensively and makes life hell for offenses at Duke. I just feel he's a huge project right now that'll be a rotational type center in the league in a best case scenario if he comes out now (frankly I think he'd be in the G league for the foreseeable future if he comes out). I think personally he'd be best served returning to Duke, improve offensively, make a bag and make another run at a title at Duke, and perhaps parlay that into improving draft stock like a Donovan Clingan.

Ray Allen says "Hi."

As does Kyrie.

If those shots don't go in, LeBron has two fewer titles.

I feel like some of you need a class in sarcasm.

our lord and savior Lebron James!
weird weird weird

It is a joke.

A bit hyperbolic, but the shoe fits for some
