2024-25 NBA Thread: for the second time, somebody in Dallas hits low percentage shot that leads to a generation of conspiracy theories (23 Viewers)

@jamalcollier

What a stat from ESPN Research: Since 1997-98, teams are 3-1,640 when trailing by 7+ in the final minute of the 4th quarter/OT.

The Pacers, this postseason, have 2 of those wins.
Was TMac involved with the other instance?

Had this on the brain... and #### Houston

It was a hornets-raptors game in 2002

Most overrated player in the NBA.
who?

NBA players and executives voted (anonymously) Tyrese Haliburton as the league's most overrated player - this was reported by The Athletic. He was voted most overrated by a wide margin.

I love this. Screw the world, Tyrese. You are proving a bunch of larooshes wrong.
Pretty sure it was just players

And it means nothing to Joe Mazzulla
Just like players voted Josh Allen the most overrated player in the NFL before last season. Turns out that players are pretty bad at voting on that stuff

So not one home team has won in this round? Amazing.
While on that topic...how is it fair that Golden State gets to play Minnesota while OKC has to square off with Denver, this seems rather cruel
And to me it weakens the WCF with one of the spots guaranteed at this point to a low seeded team

You want me to explain how seeding works?

 for the math lesson.
Minnesota also beat Denver in last year's playoffs. Poor MoP, some things never change.

Trying not to be too down after Game 1, but that game reminded me too much of WCF Wolves from last year against Dallas. Just no rhyme or reason behind what they were attempting to do offensively, Finch looking like a rookie coach with zero control, every player doing dumb **** they didn’t do all year, and ANT playing large portions of the game with two hands around his neck.

Golden State is going to make these games a grind, but you have to at least attempt to get something going in the paint when the Warriors are trying to rim protect with Draymond and Butler. Maddening game.

Pretty sure MOP is a Miami Heat fan.

i read the raggy ny post for sports. about the knicks, a writer started his story this way; “….. Between last year and this year, the Knicks are a perfect 8-0 in postseason games when Anunoby attempts 14 or more field goals. Conversely, they are 4-8 in games when he attempts 13 or fewer field goals.”.

So, if i’m thibs, i obviously have anunoby attempt the first 14 shots of the game and then profit. This is the NBA version of “x team is 10-0 when x has 25 carries”. so, give him the ball the first 25 plays? jeesh

i think ive mentioned this but i have an aau connection to him and he is one of the best guys ive met in aau just a humble good man who was super awesome to the girls played uno with them and all that and just a class act in my mind couldnt be happier to see him have success take that to the bank brochacho and also ps sweetass use of laroosh
you listen to Czaban and Brian Butch in the morning at all?

i catch 3-5 minutes of it a couple times a week. the one thing i've learned in the last few weeks from that show is that Tyrese's dad is apparently a referee for basketball games around the Valley, has been for a long time, and Butch HATES HIM.

no specifics beyond the dad is a showboat, makes the games about himself and nobody in the basketball circuit can stand the guy.

thought that was interesting considering the recent developments and how much his kid seems to be the total opposite.

You did see him rooting for the Knicks last night, no Miami fan down here in Wade County would say such filth
That said, it's difficult to not want to see Boston lose

Heat fan openly cheering for the Knicks :pics:
