2024-25 NBA Thread: Game 7!! (57 Viewers)

Brunson doing his normal push off moves. Like a modern day Michael Irvin.
Then he flops. Then he travels. And now I’m turning off the tv until Lakers-Wolves. Just can’t watch Brunson play.

You are a Warriors fan and have watched Draymond Green play for the better part of 15 years, plus all the battles with Harden and Paul and Brunson is what got you?
If Brunson was facing the Warriors, I would watch…..but I hear your point!!

Memphis is one of like 13 teams where I just look at them and say yea I don’t know where they go next.

I was thinking about this yesterday during their game. Is the trio of Morant, Bane and JJ enough to get them to the finals in the west? Because they are going to have to pay them all max deals or near max deals and then try to fill in the rest. I don't think it is, so what do they do next?
No, it’s not. Idk what they do. Maybe trade Ja for Zion and see if a change of location helps either one. The problem is they built this whole thing around Ja and now it’s clear he simply is not that guy.

Clearly a foul on Hardaway on that last shot. But the refs didn't call much all game. So not surprising it wasn't called.
Yup, the refs were allowing a lot of contact all game, so can’t blame them for swallowing the whistle there. KAT made some absolutely ridiculous shots down the stretch.

I would normally agree with you, but Hardaway initiated the contact by moving to his right in an unnatural way to try and draw a foul. Not sure why he was pulling that crap with the seconds ticking away and needing to get a shot off immediately, but I am sure that is why no foul was called. Granted, NBA officials generally suck, but just saying, Hardaway made that a tough one to call.

The NBA disagrees. From twitter -

Crew Chief David Guthrie on Hardaway's 3-point attempt:

"After postgame review, we observed that Hart makes body contact that is more than marginal to Hardaway Jr. and a foul should have been called."

Pistons wasted a challenge in the first half, otherwise they could have challenged the last shot.

per ESPN
The Pistons had used their challenge earlier in the game. Even if Bickerstaff still had the challenge, it wouldn't have mattered; technically, no call was made, so no challenge could be made.

So the refs will report on non-calls after the game, but coaches can’t challenge those plays during the game? Interesting.

As good as Luka is, I wouldn't have him bring the ball up there. They need to go quick and that isn't his style.

It was still a good look.

Reddick has to find some minutes on the bench. They are going to have a re hard enough time coming back in this series, let alone the following rounds when there will be less rest.
Nuggets are in the same situation for nearly the same reasons. Ridiculous player options and bad minimum signings for situations where both teams should be highly competitive for cheap signings that can actually potentially be rotation players.

For this year, it's probably a moot point for either franchise, but the Lakers at least have a lot of expiring medium sized contracts NEXT offseason so they might be able to dump the Klebers and Vincents of the world with some pick capital to upgrade the roster.

Magic have given the Celtics hell in every game this series. As I said last week I’m happy with how this season has gone. That said, if the GM doesn’t surround these two guys with some shooters quickly they need to get him out of here.

Sounds like Orlando and Houston are going to be vying for the same players this off season
