2024-25 NBA Thread: Game 7!! (91 Viewers)

Now that's a choke. Pacers just bring it out in teams.

Odd decisions from Daigneault, Ajay Mitchell out of nowhere, no bigs down the stretch for I have no idea what reason.

Chet played like shiiiiiiiiiit.

How do you turn the ball over 25 times in a Finals and win the game?! Just feel like a team of destiny. So much fun.
The Pacers know how to do it

Is this the most clutch season ever by one player?
There was some statistic I saw the other day saying he’s one of the most clutch players in NBA recorded history. Makes a crazy percentage of shots at ends of close games.

If a random commenter on Reddit is to be believed, Hali now has more playoff game winners in this playoffs than Kobe had in his entire career.

Thousands of Thunder fans reported leaving the arena looking desperately for an Olive Garden or Red Robin to drown their sorrows.

Such a well behaved sad sack of hillbillies slowly exiting the stadium. It brings me great joy for some reason

Small known fact but OKC is one of the most spread out cities in the US behind Houston. So these folks have an hour or more to get home.

Also, the #1 city in the US for lice. Ewwww.

Rednecks, not hillbillies, get a new slant.

lol it’s big geographically but it’s not an hour to get home inside the metro.

I think he is 12 of 13 on game tying or go ahead shots in the last two minutes this season.

The ultimate bewilderment looks on their faces on each and every opposing player vs the Pacers this post-season

In at least a few of those (including tonight) he doesn't even break 20 pts.

Indy had six players in double digits scoring but none broke 20. All 10 players that played scored and 9 of them made a 3.

Craziest stat; OKC had 14 steals and Indy had 1.

Just listened to a post game thing with the TNT guys minus Ernie and Barkley. Man was that awful.

I only follow football and basketball, but do other former players knock and complain about the current players the way former NBA players do? I have never notices it football.

I thought Shaq was shockingly good on that. For him.

Kenny was about the sameish

Isaiah was decent too.

Crazy sweat of a finish as I had Pacers ML and a player parlay both going. Haliburton hit the shot to win the first but if it was a 3 I would have snuck through both.

Kinda wanted to take the Pacers this series because nobody I follow seemed to give them a shot. So fun to watch a team with their mentality.

The people hating on the small market finals look pretty stupid right now.

IMO the people who don't want a small market finals are ones that have a financial interest in the finals or casual fans who simply want to star ****, because they know a name or two.

I don't think many fans care what cities the teams in the final are from but maybe I am misunderstanding the fan base.

Im pretty olllllddd, but I can't remember a run like this for an NBA team

Closest thing i could come up with was NC State/Valvano in 1983

I was rooting for the Houston Cougars back then

Oy

Speaking personally, if the Timberwolves (small market) aren't going to be in the finals then my my top priority/preference is just a good series. Second priority for me at least (I naturally like underdogs) is to see some small market team win versus somebody like the Lakers or Celtics with spoiled fan bases. But, again, my main priority is good basketball (which we got last night).

OKC is weird because they're the clear favorite but I actually found myself rooting for them last night because their fans aren't spoiled and I frankly think they deserve the title.

Ya I have no idea how much of what happened in game 1 is sustainable, but if there is 1 thing to be concerned about for OKC, it's Chet. He was unplayable. Couldn't keep with the pace, couldn't guard anyone on the floor, made 0 impact on offense, didn't ORB or get back when his teammates missed. Pacers will always start Turner because he's such a big part of the team and respect reasons, but they figured out quickly Obi at the 5 was giving OKC big problems. Both OKC big guys were trying to rim protect when the Pacers big guys are just spotted up in the corner. That shot is too efficient to not care about. I thought Hartenstein at least punished them on the glass and with a few offensive moves though.

I know way less about all the non-Pacer teams so I found out what everyone else already knew. Man SGA was awesome. He shoots over the top of people as if he is way taller than he is. Nembhard is an elite defender and his contests were barely bothering SGA at all. He shot them like he was wide open. Ultimately, he didn't get enough help and he missed a couple shots down the stretch, but I thought he was awesome.

Nembhard was great on offense down the stretch. He was decisive and aggressive and he made shots when his team needed another scorer. He's shown for 2 straight years that he can elevate his game in the playoffs. The 3 to make it 108-105 was just unguardable.

Something like he has taken the 3rd most of those types of shots since 1997 and has hit 80% of them.

But is he Robert Horry?
