2024 Summer of Soccer - Euro's, Copa America, Olympics, WCQing (6 Viewers)

Pushed back 30 mins, btw.
that is probably very smart. Hopefully they are making all the fans outside the stadium know this before a riot occurs.

They were totally unprepared for this tonight. I have read comments from the parking lot attendants who were told to come to work at 4:00pm today only to realize Colombian fans were already lining up at 6:30am to start tailgating.

It's like the people at Hard Rock don't understand the magnitude of the match. Almost like this is just another football game. For many people in South America, it's much more.
Most of these fans are from America. This is likely a once in a lifetime type game for many of these Colombian fans.

Yep. I'm speaking people with Colombian and Argentinian lineages whether or not they actually live there.

Between team performance at the Copa and security at these games maybe FIFA will move the US games to more advanced soccer countries like Canada and Panama.

I feel for these fans. Couldn't imagine paying the crazy ticket prices, getting there hours early to celebrate the occasion and then not being let in, stuck in the heat wondering if I'll miss the match.

Yes, many fans showed up 3 or more hours early. Partying and grilling.

I'm sure there is a lot of sobriety going on too...

Colombia had fans walking around selling drinks from coolers all day when they were up here. :lmao:

I promise FIFA is gonna come out with a statement of concern that rattles cages - combined with the events of yesterday the look from overseas is gonna be very apprehensive about the Cup being here.

Univision reporting that 2 players left the field to help their relatives enter. They also interviewed a few people stuck outside who paid $2k for their tickets. They're calling it a total disaster.

I don’t understand what the problem is. Did people just wait too long to queue up, or is security super slow so that people couldn’t get into the game on time? Or something else?

I have a hunch that a lot of folks without tickets are partying/tailgating there and also trying to get in.

More people with tickets are being allowed to enter per Univision. At least its been peaceful up to now. What is Fox reporting?

Look at the big empty security zones behind each goal...of sorry that was Berlin.

Really just hoping for no deaths tonight. Seriously.

Between now and end of the game, they need to bring in a much police as possible. If they could not stop people when they had gates, what chance will they have at control at the end of the game?

You've got a lot of people who are at the game, thinking they are playing with house money. I'd be more concerned over an in-game reaction to something getting out of hand, than the actual exit.

Lets just hope that we don't see an Uruguay-like incident in the stands.

It looks heavy Colombian but there is plenty of mixture of the fans interspersed.

This is no joke, I think this is going to be one of the highest intensity soccer games played in the US ever from a crowd perspective.

The game will hopefully have some goals to allow some of the energy to explode positively.
