2025 College Football Thread: Lane Kiffin suddenly feels compelled to read morals clause of contract (76 Viewers)

What a mess at Michigan. Bush leage and embarrassing.
If we're being honest, Moore wasn't looking like a long term solutuon was he?

No question Michigan did the right thing, even if they did wait til signing day was over first.
A new coaching staff is probably for the best long term, but today is wild. It's never boring in Ann Arbor. Atleast the basketball team has their **** together.

It was clear he was over his skis as an interim. Didn't scrutinize much when he became the permanent because it seemed like things had to get worse before it got better, so may as well have a pawn in place and expedite the path to his replacement.

Oops. ACC learns about Reply All in communications as to how they plan to communicate re: ND. We won’t know the content of said messages, but there clearly might have been more said behind doors that resulted in Bevacqua’s response vs just seeing the end result.

How long does ND plan to embarrass itself with their hurt feelings?
Well the media jumped on his case to his response. It is fair to point out that there may be more to it than surface level and he might be more justified in saying they were disappointed in what occurred.

But I hope they move beyond it from here. Time to go close some NIL deals and get back to football.
I think ND the school has moved on Bevacqua did his media tour and had what was really just end of year press conference and I haven't seen anything since. This was not breaking news from ND today as podcast guys were talking about it yesterday. It was obviously a big news item and dominated the news cycle which has people talking about it. Of course, people who do not like ND will make the "How long does ND plan to embarrass itself with their hurt feelings?" comments to make them feel better about being second choice to actually play in the ever so exciting Pop Tart Bowl.

The Pop Tart bowl is awesome. A BYU/ND game would have been a fun one; I would have enjoyed betting a house on Notre Dame. I would have liked watching the players have fun eating a giant Pop Tart after covering the spread.
I believe it’s frosting

I hear Jonathan Smith is available. Did great when he was at Oregon State.

Coach Prime to Ann Arbor?

Kalen Deboer to Michigan. Lane Kiffin to Alabama. Let's make this happen for the entertainment.

My buddy who is a huge Michigan booster just told me they are working on getting Deboer. Deboer coached at Eastern Michigan right down the street and has never felt like the right fit at Bama.

UPDATE: Moore was arrested in Saline MI right next to Ann Arbor, seems he went haywire after getting fired. Rumor from my buddy but can`t confirm but he is always in the know.

Moore told his wife he was going to kill himself, then went to the female he had the affair with and threatened to kill her and she called the police and he fled and was arrested.

Yikes past the point of jokes now. Hopefully everyone is safe and can find some peace out of an awful situation and some terrible decisions made by a supposed leader.

Holy ****. Guess I’ll change the thread title. Didn’t know it went this crazy.

Not confirmed. But he is in police custody right now. So something happened.

According to The Detroit News' Tony Paul, there was an incident on Wednesday "that required police attention." It's unclear what that incident was, or what charges Moore may be facing.

I wont believe any of this until I hear it from Sam Webb and Angelique Chengelis

Good luck with all that. Hopefully the young lady is in a safe place tonight, as well as Moore's wife and kids.

It amazes me the capacity some people have to completely blow up their lives.

You are the HC of a blue blood program making gobs of money... as long as you don't do something(s) stupid the worse that can happen is your tenure isn't successful and you are fired which you can then collect gobs of cash and then continue to coach as a lesser program... but then you do something(s) stupid.

That is all that matters now. Moore is obviously not in the right frame of mind after losing his job and possibly his family.

Special news release for @General Malaise

Notre Dame has landed a verbal commitment from Anderson High School (Ohio) defensive back Ace Alston.

The four-star, Class of 2027 cornerback out of the Cincinnati area gave the Irish his verbal nod over Oregon, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, LSU, Penn State, USC and the in-state Buckeyes.
Please stop posting about any verbal recruit commits for Notre Dame. Nobody cares in here. Share it on a Notre Dame forum.
This is a College football thread and that is college football news, no? In other words... I will post whatever is relevant to this topic. If you don't like it, don't read it. It really does not hurt you to have a post you don't care to read in this thread.
There are roughly 350 4 or 5 star recruits each year. We don't need a post anytime one commits to Notre Dame. Once on awhile is fine if a 5 star flips or something but there is a reason nobody else is posting who committed to the school they follow in here.

Being reported that it was his assistant. Her name is out there (no point in adding it here) and she has deleted her X account. Young girl though on staff and not a student it seems or maybe both?

I don't need a post telling me what to post or not but here we are.

Notre Dame was excluded because of ... money.

The schools in conferences split the money. Notre Dame doesn't have to split with anyone.

If Notre Dame were in a conference, they'd absolutely be in the playoffs.

The committee will continue to penalize them as often as they are able until they join a conference or go undefeated (or near enough). They'll lose any close call.

It's a simple as that.

I posted something similar and then I went and looked at the committee members - 6 current ADs (Nebraska, Utah, Middle Tennessee St, Virginia, Miami Ohio, Arkansas), one retired athletic director, three former coaches (Mike Riley, Dantonio, Chris Ault), 1 media member (Maisel), and a wild card (Wesley Walls).

I can’t really complain about the group. I would prefer some more youth, but retired people are probably easier to get. They should have found a better spokesperson after Mack Rhoades quit because Yurachek wasn’t very good at that.

Active AD's will have their own agendas for their own schools and conferences. I am. Ot saying that that played any role in this committee but it really is just ripe for issues or even the appearance of issues. I think it is a very poor decision to have them on the committee.

The Michigan Coach was arrested and is being detained by police?
They don't arrest you for impregnating someone other than your wife, trust me on this one
So he's assaulted his wife I'm assuming? Please don't be mad with me, I'm just trying to piece this together, the Reddit MODS have had their hands full the last several hours
Hard to tell exactly what is the truth, I'm sure it will be covered tomorrow...

Leave it to Michigan to steal the spotlight from Notre Dame which quickly had seized the title this week of most hated college football team in America

Been married to his wife for 10 years with 3 kids. 2 weeks before Christmas. What a scumbag.

How do you not only cheat on your wife but take it far enough to get a staffer pregnant. Like how crazy are you?
Dude...you have a kid but feel free to PM if you need me to explain how.

;)
Just keeping things on the train tracks here, Moore was booked into jail but no charges filed yet

-I'm still baffled how Notre Dame is gonna get pushed back to page 3 after this scandal is stretched and pulled for entertainment dollars tomorrow on ESPN/FS1, Lebatard/Podcasts and the like
Oh they'll act like they have been morally offended but the truth is they want to run rampant with this

-Notre Dame cried and pouted like a 4-yr old that didn't get what they want so now they take their toys and leave the sandbox
They belong to the ACC in every other sport but college football and that's because the Irish are "special"
Only school that can play both roles of David and Goliath simultaneously and get away with it
If they had joined the ACC in football, they would have played in the ACC Championship game or had a stronger say in things

To not participate in a post season Bowl when way back when the National Championship was decided by write in votes then Top 4, then 8 and now 12 but still the Irish have to play victim
And they lost to the team that was likely awarded the last spot...Miami
If Virginia has won, Miami would not be going

Sounds like he broke into the girlfriends house and threatened her.

Holy Bananas...all this guy had to do was lay low while this unfolds, wife divorces him but in a year or two he would have a new $1M job as an assistant or head coach at a smaller school
Not now, he just flushed his career down the drain and I wouldn't expect him to be around football anytime in the near future
