2025 Detroit Lions: Game 1 Lions vs Packers. (25 Viewers)

Last three games the Lions has found themselves down 7-28, 6-24, & 0-26.

Congrats to Eric Ebron on scoring his 8th, 9th & 10th TDs of the season Week 10. He’s put up 39-463-9 while starting 5 games (Doyle starts when he is healthy) in 2018, plus a rushing TD.

The Lions played without starting tight end Luke Willson, who has been battling a shoulder injury. And then they lost top blocker Levine Toiolo to an injury in the second quarter, leaving Detroit with just Michael Roberts. Then he got hurt too. Toiolo came back on and gutted out the finish. Those three have combined for 22-206-3 on the year,

With two starting CBs out, Teez Tabor barely saw the field. That’s because when he does play he has given up a perfect passser rating on the season. Last year’s second rounder ranks dead last (114th) in coverage as graded by PFF. His grade coming into the Bears game was 34.5.

This was Trubisky’s fourth elite game of the year. Stafford has how many?

Right now Stafford is regressing as a QB, he is holding the ball too long, locking in on one player, and looks basically shell shocked.

Although he did rack up some garbage time stats in the 4th as usual.

Having never seen Mack play much in person I will say he is as good as advertised. Totally disrupts anything his way.

How did Kerryon look yesterday. Stat like looks Ok and the TDs are nice but how did he look against Chicago front 7?

4 good offensive lineman (Lang needs to retire)

3 good interior defensive lineman: Hand, Harrison & Robinson all have top 10 PFF grades

Skill positions: Galladay / Kerryon

DBs: Agnew - Lawson - Slay

Don’t have anyone that can set the edge or cover RBs/TEs

Need a new OC

You can kinda understand the loyalty thing in New York with Eli because two rings.

But Statpadford? OK, best Lions QB since Layne.

Well, my son and I are the two tallest men in the last four generations. 5’9” & 5’10” stil ain’t tall.

:lmao:

Doug Karsch and Gator Anderson have always been big supporters of Stafford on their show.  Things have changed as of late and both are now questioning Stafford and talking about his regression.  Gator seems to think Stafford has made the most $$$$ in the NFL since he was drafted under the uncapped rookie deals and his extensions. After 10 seasons in the NFL he has a nice wife and family and tons of cash and he just does not see any type of fire or desire to win in Stafford anymore. Stafford is never mad or upset after games..just says "Um..we need to play better"

Maybe Stafford needs a change of scenery but with his cap number he is impossible to trade without taking a 40 million hit.

Those two talking heads are the slappiest clowns on detroit radio.....

Stafford needs to play better plain n simple....

The next 2 games are crucial with Carolina and Da Bears both at home.  They are both must wins to salvage anything this season.

Oh please ?

They set the tone getting boat raced by the Jets & losing to a 49ers team that has one other win. Those teams are 3-15 against the rest of the league.

Last three games they have been outscored 13-78 before they got anything rolling.

Would be nice to see effort. Signs of preparation.

As for Statpadford, I want them to prepare to move on over the next two years.

Stafford is Jay Cutler.

It wouldn't matter if Brady was the QB. This team is light on talent across the entire roster. At least they beat the Patriots.

good breakdown here. The biggest problem in the NFL  is just how big rosters and coaching staffs are. Like sailing a large boat that's always springing leaks.

Was sad (but not surprised) to see the Bengals canned Teryl Austin. His first year in Detroit was amazing, and he seemed a lock for a future HC position. But for whatever reason, he was never able to close the deal. I heard he didn't interview well, although I'm also mindful of the fact that African American candidates frequently have to clear a higher bar. Anyway, the fact that he's now been fired mid-season makes me wonder if he'll ever get another shot as a DC, much less a HC. (I mean, Mike McCoy did, but see above re: African-American candidates. Also, that one didn't work out too well.)

Farewell, Teryl.We'll always have 2014.

Teryl got lionized just like every single coach of the last 60 years. They come in hot but then fizzle out. Jim Bob was also hot at one time and he will be the next sacrifice to the God of the blazing Ford Pinto.

Except Jay Cutler would throw repeatedly to his best guys. Statpadford (I like that btw) drops back and looks for the open guy and when there is none, (he's not capable of throw a guy open), he curls up in the fetal position. He's done as an NFL starting QB. He's weak and loser. He definitely has Jay Cutler's fire for the game....which is close to zero.

Every team has warts. No real super teams. Rams are dang good for sure, Chiefs are great on offense, this is probably Brees best shot at parting glory. But nobody thinks even the elite teams are unbeatable.

Lions never seem to have that intangible stuff. Like the Pack can be having a lousy day, they'll be down 2-3 scores, Rodgers starts putting drives together and it's just inevitable he'll close the deal.

As great as Stafford was in the mega comebacks year (2016), I can't remember too many games where he starts off lousy but turns it around. TONS of games where they were overly conservative in the first 3 quarters or the D was giving up chunk plays, and they come back from down 4 or 6 or whatever. But when it goes south for him *(& the team), it snowballs quick.

Frustrating season.

Again.

Rodgers is a certified first ballot hof qb. Yet here they sit at 4-5. Just shows how even one of the best qbs of all time is not enough to make a team a winner.

Equally frustrated (as always) with the team.

Having said that - making the best player on the team the scapegoat is just plain odd.

That's not really true - or at least it shouldn't be - offensively. With how many resources they've used on the offense, it should be great. I'm not really sure why it isn't. They've put a TON of money and picks into the OL and its still below average. And, as has been discussed, Stafford is having a bad season.

Lions best OL is on IR, and overpaid as he nears retirement.

Ragnow seems to have potential.

Who else are you referring to?

I just mean that they have signed 2 high priced free agents, have 2 first rounders, and a third rounder on the starting OL. That's a lot of expended resources for a below average line.

I really think this will be the turning point in the season. Beat the Panthers today, beat Da Bears on Thanksgiving and finish on a 7 game win streak and roar into the playoffs with Matt Stafford and Kerry Johnson leading the way.

Who is with me?    Hello?? Anyone??
