Just looked ahead, and realized I am toast in week 8.

Egbuka is probably out until week 10 - leaving me with just 3 healthy WRs in week 8, 2 RBs, and 1 TE - which is 1 less than I need for 2 flex players...

Its possible that Blue or Monangai pick up a few stray points for a 2nd flex player, but not holding out much hope...:kicksrock:

If I got a mulligan...

That would be the winner thru week 6. Wonder where they'll rank in the next 11 weeks.

Your week 8 options are:
QB - Dak and Caleb - 2 great options
RB - TreVeyon, JCM, Blue, Monangai - hoping for about 20 points from your top 2, and maybe 5 for a flex
WR - Odunze, Golden, Keenan - Odunze and Keenan are top 18, and Golden is a flex hopeful
TE - Warren - stud
K & D - 3 options each

Sure, you likely need decent scores from just above everyone you've counted on thus far, but all hope is not lost.

Yeah - if everyone hits, I am still in with a chance - but, no room for error. And realistically, I need above average points from TreVeyon and Golden.

I knew Week 8 was an achilles heel for me - kind of hoping Egbuka had been able to help carry the load.

Started the night a point above the cut line. I'm now sitting at 107.55 versus a cutline of 110.15 with three cumulative quarters left to play. Bill, Odunze, Ertz, Lane.... Just need one of them to do something here.

On the other hand, they've basically done nothing so far, and it was enough for Ertz and Bill to already "count" with 6.2 and 4.2 points, respectively. Odunze hasn't even gotten there yet (needs another 3 points). So, in theory, any points they score the rest of the way SHOULD move my score more than the cutline. Of course, if anybody else goes off the opposite happens, I suppose.

Ugh. Nerve-wracking.

That last sequence of Ertz/Lane/Ertz may have put me over the top. Can't believe it. For a minute there, it felt like it was going to come down to whatever player touched the ball last. Still might. Who knows.

Man, I get how fantasy scoring works, but wild to me that KC defense played so great and only got 1 point in this contest.
Yeah. They were my lowest scoring D, while LAC gave up 27 to MIA and still scored 8.

The first fantasy league I ran a million years ago I developed a scoring for defenses that I thought was good for handling things in terms of rewarding better defenses.

All DST TDs were 6.
Safeties were 2

Offensive TD allowed were -2
Field goals allowed were -1

Stone age of fantasy football - did not have a million different bonuses for everything. And honestly a lot better for watching and knowing what exactly is going on versus worrying about every decimal point.

-QG
If that was the scoring system for DST, wouldn't it make sense to start whatever D was on a bye instead of taking the chance that 95% of the time, it would result in negative points if those were the only 4 scoring categories. Or did you score + points for sacks, fumbles, and picks too?

Relearning the kicker and defense rules AGAIN....

Thru 6 weeks, my $3 kicker has counted 3 times and my two $4 kickers have counted in total 3 times.

Thru 6 weeks, my $4 defense has scored 26 points and my $3 defense has scored 28 points.

Unofficial future cutlines: A few ties affected the future cutlines, (not counting ties that may affect the final cut numbers):

Start 11139
10% Week 1 Cut to Number – 10026
10% Week 2 cut to Number – 9026
10% Week 3 cut to Number – 8127
20% Week 4 cut to Number – 6511
20% Week 5 cut to Number – 5209
20% Week 6 cut to Number – 4168 Now 4169
20% Week 7 cut to Number – 3335 Now 3336
30% Week 8 cut to Number – 2335 Now 2336
30% Week 9 cut to Number – 1635 Now 1636
30% Week 10 cut to Number – 1145 Now 1146
30% Week 11 cut to Number – 802 Now 803
30% Week 12 cut to Number – 562 Now 563
40% Week 13 cut to Number – 338
40% Week 14 cut to Number – 203 (means the top 22 non-playoff teams this week win a prize)

Notes From Contest Rules:
- In weeks 1--14, the cut is based on scores from the current week only. Scores reset each week.

- Specifically, the cut will be determined as in the following example. Suppose it is week 7 and there are 2,394 entries at the beginning of the week. Because the cut percentage is 20% for that week, 2394 will be multiplied by 0.80 and the resulting number, if not an integer, will be rounded UP to the next greatest integer. In this case, 2394 * 0.8 = 1915.2. We round up to 1916. The entry with the 1916th-highest score, and all entries with an equal or greater score, will move to the next round.

- if fewer than 225 participants remain after week 14, then prizes will be awarded to eliminated participants according to highest score in week 14. If prizes are still unawarded after that, then highest score in week 13, and so on.

Egbuka being out could hit many of us.
I need Coker and pearsall back asap.

Made it Tks to Dak/Pickens, with the lowest weekly score of the season, thanks to zero kicker points, horrible RB performance, and only 4 from DEF.

IIRC I made it an automatic -10 in that scenario.

Surprised to have a 171 pt week with my continuing debacle at RB (used Bill/Brown for 7.3/5.9). JSN and Darnold both were huge along with Goedert's 30 pts.

My QB/PK/TD strategies have been stellar and my WR's have been fantastic so far and have all made up for a horrible run at RB. My TD & PK averages are both greater than my RB2 average. I've also only used an RB at flex 1 time so far.

I'm likely going to sweat out week 8 with Darnold/JSN on a bye. JSN has counted every week and Darnold 3 out of the last 4 weeks. With my WR2 Ebuka also likely injured, I need 1 or 2 guys to have a random great game.

It kind of freaked me out when people with 20 or 30 points more than me going into MNF were sweating it out. I was sitting at around 100 points at the time. But I had players from all four teams ready to start for me. I was still confident that I would be ok but you never know how it will play out.

Survived (as noted by TheWinz) with 160.75 points. But this week I won't have Connor (obvioulsy not just for this week) or Egbuka (in all likelihood). But I have no Baltimore or Buffalo players (the bye teams this week) and hopefully Evens and Pearsall return to bolster my WR receiver corps.

14 of 81 Rashee Rice teams survived the 6 week suspension gauntlet.

267 of 1106 Kittle teams hanging in there till the stud TE makes it back.

Seven teams had both. Please remove your hats and observe a moment of silence for Kittle+Rice roosters. Their journey was over before it started.

:wall:
What do you take from this? Spend more?
I believe it is about leaning more into the PPR edge. RB are at a disadvantage at half PPR compared to WR and TE premium.

PPR boost makes it harder for RB to fill the flex. So plan on more WR and TE, less at RB.

While it really sucks to have 3 team defenses that each scored exactly one point this week….

And only getting 8.7 and 7.3 points from my highest scoring running backs…..

And being without Pearsall again, and also losing Egbuka….

Still not a single score that counted from my $4 team defense (KC) while my two $3 defenses have carried me…

I still managed to limp on to week 7 with 162.95 points.

Hoping to avoid any additional injuries this coming week.

Continued good luck to all the week 6 survivors❗

As the lowest surviving Member of Joe's badge offer, I needed almost every point my team scored to survive. I only had about 17 points that I didn't use this week and 11 of those points were from two of the three defenses i have.

It doesn't matter if you survive by ,01 points or scored 200 points this week. None of that matters in week 7.

Survive and advance, those are the only rules.
