2025 Miami Dolphins - 1-4, Currently hold the #4 pick in the draft. (10 Viewers)

Big freaking problems at both tackle spots already......Brothers....if Armstead is out we got some big problems coming.
Agree about Austin......great draft in 2020 Grier......guys get fired for that.

WHIFFS not 1, not 2, but three first rounders in the same draft.

Brilliant.

If two of those three picks were Herbet and Jonathan Taylor......we are not even having this conversation.

If they stay at #3 and thake Pitts or Chase......we are talking about us, Buffalo and KC and who goes to the Super Bowl.

Instead.....we are still talking about can our OL block....how long will Tua start (and flutter balls) until his next injury......and why we can’t run the ball.

Same ****....different year. MOP is right about Ross. As long as he and his family own this team......we are never getting out of this black hole of failure.

Great being a Dolphins fan.....isn't it?
They did win this past weekend

Maybe those Tackles will be Ok by Sunday, maybe just giving them some rest.

"guys get fired for that"
There's no one in the building to do that right now, unless Ross has a special committee we don't know about.
One win vs a weak Patriots team I should be happy? If we go 3-1 over this 4 week stretch I will be a believer.

This organization is in the show me don’t tell me mode. That’s what happens after 20 years of a pure garbage product. This franchise was once very proud. It has been a joke since 2000.

Meantime Terron was back at practice. Which is a huge relief. Why do I have this feeling we will be on eggshells with this guy for the duration of his contract….kinda like Brandon Albert.

We are cursed here.

You're not wrong that the franchise has been a joke since 2000. I was relieved more than happy we beat the pats, because lose that game and you may be looking at a 0-4 start. This week the real test starts.

Good news on Armstead.

Austin Jackson to IR, out at least 4 weeks. Its not ideal, but if it had to be one of our OL, it may as well have been him. Regardless of who we put up there on Sunday, its a concern. OL isn't as horrific as last year but its still not good.

Veteran OT Brandon Shell was signed to the practice squad. He might not be ready for another week, but he would be an upgrade over what Austin Jackson has shown this far. Injuries in 2021 led to him not being resigned by Seattle. 30 year old nephew of Art Shell. Pff grades of 72.7 and 67 the last 2 years.

Seahawks 2022 Free Agent Primer: Brandon Shell

Worth a flyer for sure. Followed him at South Carolina and was always a bit surprised he carved out a starting role at the NFL level.

Just wasn't that bad of a play to warrant 4 weeks but I knew Jackson would do this...OK.

So now we have to hear all season that he got hurt Week 1, I'm ready to push off and get better Tackles in here. Don't know why Eich isn't playing RT, he was a Tackle in college. They can plug someone else in at LG next to an All Pro LT while he's still standing. I can feel the wheels starting to come off along the OL.

I'm not going to act like losing Austin Jackson was the beginning of the end, he wasn't that good to begin with. I look forward to watching Little start at Tackle now.

Terron was limited in practice.....this guy already reeks of free agent bust because he seems to always be hurt.....was out all year last year and already questionable after week one......sheesh.

I want to use this opportunity to explain what I heard Greg Cosell say and then what I see as the end result.

-He said that Hill and Waddle and all this speed is not there to GO LONG. Cosell who is a Senior Producer at NFL Films went on to say that the speed creates quick separation in that 5-15 yd area of the field and with the DBs not allowed to touch the WRs any more, it creates space and Tua is throwing to guys that are usually open.

To most of us, it means that these guys can take short quick passes and turn them into...well what Waddle showed us last week. Hill can do the same thing and they bring two of them on the field at the same time, it's just plain sick. Teddy must be licking his chops on the bench but for now Tua is going to lead this team.

I believe Miami has a solid chance to win this football game up in Baltimore.
We got speed, we got playmakers, we got guys that can score, the Ravens don't scare me any more.

11:20 he starts in on the Phins and he mentions that Miami motions more than anyone. He breaks it down with precision, would invite you all to listen to Greg, I don't always agree with him but he does watch a lot of film.

I love our weapons. What I did not like in week one was our OL. We need to really get that going asap for any of this to have a chance to work.

Agree - going into BAL missing both our starting Tackles is a recipe for disaster.

Who was the last Miami QB to get a W @ BAL? Marino '97?

I think BAL wins in a revenge game for Lamar. But, IF Miami wins, the love for McDaniel will grow to an astronomical height.

Not sure if I’ll make the game thread tomorrow since I’m out of the country. As a follower of Baltimore, just wanted to wish you guys good luck. Let’s hope it’s a fun game and both teams come out of it with few/no injuries.

I’m going Ravens 24, Dolphins 23. Tucker hits one at the gun.

I think Terron will be limited all year as a load management thing.

Ravens 27, Miami 24. Lamar only put up 10 points last year, but one of his receivers dropped a long pass in the end zone. He'll be more prepared this time. Tua is a huge unknown in this game, largely because of his oline. He's been very good with a clean pocket or when he has a quick throw to his first read, very bad with people in his face.

Might even give him a week off vs the lesser competitors on the schedule or a reduced workload as you posted. I think that will come in practice as well, doubt he is a full participant all the time.

I think Miami will open that running game up today and I may be very naive but I don't see Baltimore's Defense as a world beater. Miami is the team that should be feared on Defense today.

I can only imagine the local hour tomorrow on the Dan LeBatard Show, they don't know the Phins that well but they do have some fan boys in studio.

It is going to be one of the most surreal Monday Mornings in Miami in 30+ years, Miami went to the AFCC in 1993 and were run over by Buffalo at Joe Robbie as it was called back then.

Not thinking about Buffalo right now, just enjoying the victory celebration tonight, can't wait to rock the jerseys around town with some pride for once.

People can say we got lucky, whatever go watch the game again, no doubt it will be one of the replays on NFLN this week.

Miami 2-0, 1st Place of the AFC East tonight, maybe Buffalo will tie us tomorrow evening. Go Titans

Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy with that win. But my expectations are low for the season.

The one thing we have going for us is that there is a lot of mediocrity. Other than Buffalo and KC we can beat anybody in the AFC. On the flip side, any of those teams could also beat us.

It does benefit Miami that the AFC has not looked as advertised so far. Broncos, Raiders, Titans, Browns, Colts, and Bengals all have disappointed.

Best Miami WR duo since the Marks Bros., maybe better already?
That was the plan, and it is working to perfection right now.
Be faster than everyone and run them into the ground, its working.

The Miami Dolphins offense: we are going to make you RUN

Next Gen Stats
@NextGenStats
The Dolphins field-stretching receivers forced the Ravens secondary to cover a lot of ground... Ravens defensive backs traveled a total of 6,131 yards on pass plays over the course of the game, the most by a DB group in a game since the start of last season.

5,550 yds surrendered by the Ravens thru the air in their last 19 regular season football games.

The Worst in the NFL, told you I wasn't scared.

Our Defense was kind of terrible, just not quite as terrible as Baltimore.

We were featured on Get Up for the first 8-9 minutes so you know Miami is turning heads in the media. We are never discussed on Monday Mornings, Skip and Shannon in 30 minutes will likely start with Dallas, Stephen A Smith later, it's fun to be in the national spotlight for once.

Still enjoying this win......I had to think back to 1986, 1987 for the last time I saw this kind of offensive performance....which usually resulted in losses for us back in the Marino years because we had no defense what so ever. Yesterday our defense was scorched.....but then came up with stops in the 4th quarter when we had to.

Just really hoping this was not some one off game. Let’s build off of this....I hope this was the watershed moment for Tua and this team and the culture can begin. A culture of winning big games in big moments.

On to Buffalo this Sunday.....gonna be a monster game and I want that Stadium at least 95/5 Dolphin fans to Bills fans......come on Miami...represent strongly!!!

Last year the Ravens were devastated with injuries in the secondary before the season began. This year, they were 'supposed' to be healthy, and they added the best blue-chip safety in the first round of the draft.

IMHO, it is more a matter of the Phins WRs and passing game being explosive over the Ravens 'current' pass defense being poor.

51-45 Jets if I recall

You all are gonna love listening to this
Fresh off the local press here in Miami, this is the local hour with LeBatard from the Clevelander in Miami.

He mentions the Leon Lett game, that's a good comparison from 30 years ago.

Dude that was exactly the game I was referring to. The Nat Moore Helicopter game.

My 23 yr old son called me yesterday after being in my living room Week 1 and wearing one of my Dolphins' jerseys to humor Dad and he was calling me every time they scored yesterday and at the end I heard these words..."We Won!"

An entire generation of potential football fans in Florida have had nothing to root for, nothing but Marino legend stories and even those don't have a Lombardi Trophy anywhere in them.

It was the best Miami game in his entire life time, think about that.

Swear I texted my buddy when we were down 35-21 that "for the first time in forever, I think the dolphins have the ability to make a comeback". When was the last time you saw a 21 point deficit and said, "we could still win this?" Marino? Not sure if you guys read peter king, but evidently Tua and McD had a play called "F it" where they just send tyreek deep. They called the play and he scored. He was one on one against a rookie corner and scored again... NUTs . 2 4th and shorts turned away even though the D was getting torched. CRAZY!!!!

What a difference two weeks make. Gone are the cutesy nicknames from @Ministry of Pain for the 2nd best coach in Dolphins history (yes, I'm ready to crown his ***) and even @Todem is finally coming around and believing in Tua albeit some of us believed without actually seeing (aka Faith)!

Dolphins now Tua and 0 on the season! LFG!!

Congrats fish fans. Yesterday's Ravens game demonstrated why I was ok with the Week 1 loss to the Dolphins. Pats gave up one offensive TD and two field goals which is immaculate compared to the Ravens collapse. I was literally laughing at the Ravens watching their secondary get repeatedly torched on the same deep route concepts play after play....looks like the league might need a variant to the two deep shell which has reigned the Chiefs in but allows for TWO speed demons rather than just ONE (Hill and Waddle versus "just Hill").

Coach M&M is a funny nickname. I was resistant and still maintain Flores got jobbed on his way out of here and dealt with craziness that the current coach has not, wait until Ross is allowed in the building and wants to make visits with the coaching staff.

If I were Chris Grier I would make a new Rule/Law for Miami Dolphins since he is the King and forbid Ross from any interaction with the current Head Coach for the REST of 2022! This man should not be subjected to an infection of hideous football knowledge and prowess. I don't think Ross should ever step foot in Hard Rock again and I know I'm dreaming.

MoP observation from Sunday...at one point I am watching Miami down 21-7 maybe and they focus on the DC and McDaniel is walking to the bench and not even paying attention to what is happening on the field, that bothered me a lot in the moment until after halftime. I feel like he is a step ahead or knows where he is best suited to get things fixed quickly.

And I feel the Defense was OUT going into halftime and let Baltimore move the ball right thru them like swiss cheese most of the first half. but then they started to see they had a chance and it invigorated them in the 4th Q. I don't know what Coach Mike said but he sure sparked the Offense and if he can do things like that then Miami is turning the corner.

Coach M&M and Tua'Non have a special play for Tyreek Hill and it's called "Eff It!" and it's the dirty word. That play is simply Hill running a fly pattern and no other Receiver is even a thought, just chuck it to him.

They ran that play a few times in the 2nd Half, wow!

Coach M&M may seem like a funny nickname to you and it may seem disrespectful to others. He's definitely a step ahead of you and me and every other Dolfan watching the games from the comfort of their living rooms. He knows his team better than you and I and he knows how to motivate them. The team is all-in on Coach McDaniel even if you and other fans need to see before you believe.

I'm well aware of the F-it play and if I was the HC of this team and had a receiver like Hill I would have an F-it play on my bag of tricks as well.

The 2nd half was wow indeed!

He's won a couple games, I'm sure there will be some rough waters ahead this season, don't want to put him on a pedestal but he's far better than Dumbo from Green Bay, Sporano, Saban, Wanny although he did win a playoff game, Gase, hate to blast Flores but surely Mike knows Offense better, and he seems better suited for the modern NFL athlete. Jimmy Johnson didn't do much when he was here, he won a few games but was just a band aid for what really needed to be done.

Yeah this guy is a lot better than so many head coaches Miami has hired. He has a long way to go and I mentioned when he was hired that he should win 10 games because he inherited a team coming off a 24-18 run before Flores was fired.
I'm glad you like him, we've been starving for a long time here.

Congrats Phins fans -- what an amazing win for ya;ll TOUGH TOUGH loss as a Ravens fan :tfp:

I hope you're right that THIS Miami team is for real and yesterday was evidence -- I will say as a Ravens fan and having the history of the defenses in 2000 and 2012, its been tough to watch the last few years and I'm not so sure its shocking to me to hear what @Ministry of Pain quoted about the 5,000 plus yards last ~20 games  -- they've been making a lot of offenses look good --

No doubt the comeback win was impressive. I think we'll see just how good Miami really is this week when they play Buffalo.
I will tell you the vibe of the fan base down here

House Money!
We were going to go 0-4 to start the season but that hasn't happened. Ok 1-3 was a realistic projection @Balt, BUF then @Cin before they see a break in the schedule and get to some softer opponents.

I don't think Miami fans care much right now. If the game is close awesome, if Miami were to eek out a win I wouldn't make assumptions about January. We're just celebrating the fact Miami is fun to watch finally.

Ryan Smith from PFF-Dolphin is a reality check on individual performances. Some grades were obvious if you saw the game as a fan. Tua, Hill, Ingold, and Waddle did well. The oline was good overall (combined run and pass blocking) for Armstead, Williams, and Hunt. Major concern at RT (Little) and LG (Eichenberg). Versus the Bills good pass rush, that will be a big problem for Tua and our passing game. Maybe newcomer Shell replaces Eichenberg at LG - he's had 2 consecutive PFF grades in the 20s.

A slight correction: Marlon Humphrey got hurt in practice last week and probably wouldn’t have played if it was a less dynamic passing team. Marcus Peters played for the first time since 2020 and it apparently showed. Brandon Stephens was their #3 CB during the week and he couldn’t play. So, two rookies, a hurt Humphrey, and a half speed Peters.

That said, Miami freaking smoked Baltimore and are frightening. Once Tua got the rhythm of the game, he was off to the races.

The Miami Dolphins are a league leading LOW in penalties under Mike McDaniel

4 penalties in 2 games so far

Miami was of course one of the least penalized teams when Don Shula was the Head Coach in the 70s and 80s.

I was running stats for the exploit/avoid thread

Thanks for the info SBD, I don't put much stock in PFF rankings but you're absolutely on the money that they will have their hands full with a Bills front that is SPICY and doesn't need to blitz to bring pressure.
