2025 Miami Dolphins - 1-4, Currently hold the #4 pick in the draft. (9 Viewers)

Sad to see the poor guy carted off on a stretcher, Marino ripped his achilles but I never saw him put on a stretcher.

-I don't know what to make of the last few days. I thought he was definitely suffering from a concussion with his helmet hitting the ground last week vs Buffalo, it was sorta done forcefully to him and the same tonight against Cincinnati, DL tossed him and slammed him to the ground the way you would a defenseless animal.

I would be understanding if he steps away for a while. Miami might even need to put him on injured reserve for a minimum of 4 weeks and see how he feels with no football activities.

Teddy is limited, would rather he backed up Skylar Thompson

Tua head injuries in B2B games is going to take on a life of its own.

-Fitzpatrick talking about how he was ID by a spotter and I remember watching him being checked for a concussion with the Dolphins as he was describing it.

Miami has unfortunately been involved with many issues and investigations by the NFL, this one could start to spiral out of control and Ross isn't even in the building right now.

I was responding to someone tonight on the Tua thing who is pretty well in touch with the happenings of the inner workings of the league. Said he wouldn't go into detail but the MIA org is a mess. Ross needs to be kicked out in similar fashion as some want Snyder out and the org top Half staff and executives. Said there's wider problems in the org than we see and over the last 2-3 yrs has less and less respect for the Phins staff.

He was also quick to point out that judging MM here would be too much. He's most likely going with whatever the Med staff told him. We don't know full details and there's times the coach just listens to the medical staff who aren't being truthful to coach for whatever reason. He also said Tua could've talked his way back into last weeks game too. He'd put more blame on the medical staff org over the coach. Sometimes in these situations the coach say has little power to higher ups maybe calling the shots.

Wouldn't be surprised when all said and done we find out more issues uncovered here in Miami. it's a real shame. Always respect the Phins too. Always have a few favorite players on the team to hope do well and Phin's fans are pretty passionate about a good product.

Just brutal.

Hope he can come back healthy but that was a really bad look last night.

Still done with Bridgewater and the Wannstedt type offense they ran in the 2nd half. They should start Skylar Thompson but they won't. What's it going to take to give Skylar a shot? A loss to the Jets?

Teddy did a few things I liked and a few I didn't last night. I think you have to take into account the team had Tua on their minds and still came real close to pulling off a win in CInci on a short rest week.

The good:

Teddy threw the ball away twice when nothing was available (If Tua had done the same thing when he got concussed he wouldn't have gotten concussed), He did this twice to keep things at manageable down and distance.

He scrambled twice for decent gains (including one for a first down). Tua seems to be reluctant to run these days, even before the hit (or maybe historically)

The Bad:
Well, he threw 2 interceptions. I'm sure the film will be a better indicator of who was at fault, but both seemed to be in situations where Teddy and the receiver were running different routes. Hopefully, if Teddy is going to be the starter for the foreseeable future, that gets cleaned up.

Finally: well, Miami is not allowed to have nice things it seems. The good news is we get Jones back, X has time to heal, and the team (other than Tua) has made it through the brutal first 4 weeks with a 3-1 record.

Miami as a whole looks like a different team under this coaching staff. No lead is safe vs us. The D has been ok (the 4th down plays have been stellar, the pass rush is non-existent). The passing game is better than advertised and the running game still needs work. The Jets are up next after our "mini-bye"

Just feel so bad for Tua. I've been pulling for him as a player before Miami even drafted him. It's so admirable how he handles adversity and bounces back from injuries. Really proved the doubters wrong with that epic Ravens game.

That was ugly though, it may be best to shut it down soon.

I have no medical expertise at all, so not going to weigh in on whatever happened Sunday with the apparent head injury. I will say that Miami, once again, looks awful as an organization. I'm not sure how long Ross can continue as an owner with these constant scandals.

At some point the Good Old Boys that run the league are going to push him out to protect the shield unless he has Synder level dirt on the rest of them.

Barry Jackson-

McDaniel said there “is no timetable” for when Tagovailoa plays again: “I have zero idea.” On Friday morning, Tagovailoa mentioned to McDaniel about not want to miss “X, Y, Z game.” McDaniel said he told him: “Tua, don’t even think about a game. Let’s do everything the right way and worry about you and your head and worry about being a healthy human being and then we will worry about playing football later. I didn’t want to give him that option. You do have to do that to protect people against themselves.”

Love McDaniel and its unfortunate that people are implying he pushed Tua into this situation. Seems like a standup guy all around.

Primetime Game, all the talk on Friday going into the weekend was Tua and protocols.
This morning, the 12 or 13 games played yesterday will take priority but you could see some of the Tua effects when you saw the speed at which Hoyer was removed and his head never really bounced off the grass, he just held his helmet or head briefly after getting sacked pretty good(MoP was calling it in the game tread but was semi-joking, playing the role of "spotter") but I want to emphasize it looked nothing like the 2 sacks Tua absorbed. I felt the Bills shove was a bit of a cheap shot but the Bengals sack was as clean as it gets.

Just curious what the room temperature is now a few days removed from Thursday. We have a game to play next weekend against the Jets who are looking to even these records at 3-2 each, think about that and what they are playing for after Wilson was atrocious most of the game in Pittsburgh. If Miami can get to 4-1, stabilize and push off any Tua talk for another week, all the better.

I'm not going to stop beating the drum on Skylar Thompson, the sooner he is up and starting games for McDaniel the better. He wanted to draft him and his team picked a couple of these guys including the WR in the 4th Rd EZ E is his nickname. I don't want to waste a lot of game time with Teddy Bridgewater. Skylar throws the ball down field and gives them the best chance to open up the offense with Tua out for a while.

In regards to Tua specifically...
If Tua never suits up again as a member of the Miami Dolphins I'm good. Not bitter, not mad, not anything. I just don't want to worry constantly about my starting QB going down with catastrophic injuries. These aren't nicks and cuts, bruises and berries, these are head trauma tackles he is absorbing at a rate that seems higher than his counterparts. I want him to step away for the rest of the year, that's not likely to happen but that's what I hope Tua decides is best for him and I also hope others(former players and QBs) reach out to him and share some of their stories with him. Be a good time for Troy AIkman to reach out and speak with Tua.

It's bad enough to lose and never make the Playoffs but then you compound it with all the scandals it's enough to drive you away.
And another sad sad note is the immediate acceptance by Miami of Tua and Coach McDaniel to the point there is a waiting list for season tickets in 2023. This city was built on the Dolphins and its missed a generation of fans that are thirsting for football to be special once again around here.
We might be 3-1 but it feels like we are 0-4 right now with Tua being sacked in front of the whole country.
Congress is wanting to get involved, scandal after scandal, when does it end?

I was happy there was a game to watch instead of being subject to the faux outrage and pearl clutching. I've avoided talking heads and most of social media talking about Tua and will continue to do so. Hot takes and hearing from people who not only don't know the protocols nor what actually happened don't interest me.
Definitive changes are going to come about, hopefully for the better... not too little not too much.

I have no feelings on when I want Tua back other than wanting Tua to be healthy and fully recovered before he takes the field again and will root like hell for him if/when he's taking snaps.

Regardless, I'll be going to the MetLifeTakeover, wearing my Tua jersey and rooting for my favorite team and seeing what kind of wizardry MMcD can do.

Unsure the basis of ranking… plenty of area for growth for sure. Points against rank them in the middle… 38 against Bal skews that a bit but is saved by the 7 against NE.
Looking at the QBs until the bye...Wilson, Cousins, Pickett, Goff, Fields, Brissett
i’m not counting wins and losses, however, it does look like there are some more favorable matchups and it doesn’t feel like the same gauntlet as the last 3.

Shhhh, it's where I pull 85% of my exploit/avoid data, you can play games with the numbers all day but there is some very telling stats in there that I like to pepper into my predictions.
I'm what you call a very tight gambler, I'll fold pocket JJs pre-flop.
My favorite one in there is the number of drives allowed to end in a score by the defenses.

Miami has a lot of problems defensively right now. Dead last in passing yds allowed, almost 300 per game and 2 TD a week to boot. I know they have some playmakers in the secondary but there is no pass rush to help them out.

I see now you were referencing pass defense. Makes sense and somewhat unsurprising since Byron Jones hasn't played... and frankly I'm not sure he plays this week?
X was hobbled before the Bengals game and got scorched by Tee. Any chances he doesn't suit up?

I've kept an eye on Byron for a long while... the combo of X and BJ makes the defense sing. deficiencies in corners or DL and the overall D becomes a shell of itself.

X day to day and Byron Jones isn't coming back any time soon. Let's hope the front is able to get pressure and these young bucks in the backend can handle it.

should have told him that at half time of the Bills game

Byron Jones can’t even practice. He has not seen a practice field in over 2 months. And X is out this weekend.

Just great.

If Teddy is struggling......let’s give Skylar a long look. Could he have a Kurt Warner moment? A diamond in the rough? A 25 year old rookie who shows some goods?

Skylaaaaaaar “****ing” Thompson can maybe save the season?

I don’t expect Tua back for at least 4 weeks.....more than likely 6 weeks....maybe longer gentlemen. Maybe longer than a lot of us think.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not really that down on Teddy. I think he will probably do just fine. I honestly think he is about the same as Tua (Tua had more potential but at this moment I think they are not that different in terms of how good they are at playing QB overall). I'd give Teddy a pretty long leash. But I don't think he is going to need it. I think he is going to be just fine.

On a related note, I do think that the Phins are going to lose some games to "easy" opponents in the next couple of months. Those Buffalo and Balt wins were both quite lucky. They were never that good. But when they crash back down to earth, Teddy will likely take some undeserved blame.

Multiple sources tell me the review into Tua Tagovailoa's handling following his Sept. 25 concussion evaluation could be finished as early as Thursday The NFL wants to get it done before Colts-Broncos kickoff -- still hurdles to cross before it's resolved but league is pushing

Really looking forward to this today. Take their lumps for not following protocols... or protocols were followed, he passed the S C A T concussion testing, the medical people cleared him and told coaches he could play, so they played him and moving forward the changes are being made to the protocols.

So according tthe Dolphins followed protocols and the protocols have now changed...

Tom Pelissero
The NFL and NFLPA announce they agree concussion protocols were properly applied with Tua Tagovailoa on Sept. 25, but that those protocols — now modified — were insufficient. Joint statement:

Two key notes:

Tua "did not report or exhibit any signs or symptoms of concussion during his locker room exam, during the remainder of the game, or throughout the following week."

Doctors did not examine Tua's back during the concussion exam, instead relying on an earlier exam.

As for the modified protocols:

"(T)he term 'ataxia' has been added to the mandatory 'no-go' symptoms. 'Ataxia' is defined as abnormality of balance/stability, motor coordination or dysfunctional speech caused by a neurological issue."

Any player diagnosed with ataxia is out.

It would be nice of the Defense decides to show up but we are down both starting Cornerbacks today I think, not going to be.a great day IMHO.

50/50 the Phins lose this game, honestly.

I won't push the fan base too much but it's coming...

We need a reality check on who is coming back into control of this team that we haven't heard from due to suspension, an unprecedented action by the Commissioner against the Miami Dolphins. That's right, AGAINST the Miami Dolphins who you all root for, we've been shamed and prosecuted and we are still mired in controversy even when he isn't here.

🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Ross' daughter will control the team, right, at some point?

I missed the game due to a work function, the hit on Bridgewater didn't look so bad. No surprise, X and Armstead are injured. Tua might get well quick, although Skylar had a couple of nice throws on replay, to Gesicki and a Wilson drop. To make the playoffs, Miami will need most of the injured players to get healthy.

This Defense sucks that's start there and forget about the offense for a few minutes.

The Jets OL was banged up and has sustained injuries and they had no problem with us. What has happened to Ogbah?

I get it, the secondary is all banged up and it's still not good enough. We can score 30 a game and we are still going to get waxed most weeks allowing as many points as we do.

Chase Edmonds is a complete disaster and waste of money, why did we sign a guy that we cannot use?
How long can Raheem Mostert be the featured RB in this offense?

Terrence Armstead left with a toe injury and is staying behind in New York to see a specialist.
This doesn't sound promising.
$18M-2023, $14M-2024, 5Yr/$75M in the off season

Barry Jackson on Twitter-

McDaniel said Bridgewater has no concussion symptoms but a spotter saw him stumble so he immediately enters concussion protocol and ruled out because of yesterday's rule change. Unfortunate coincidence that this happens to Dolphins. Well intentioned rule opens up can of worms.

Bullspit it was a coincidence, they called it on the very first play. He wasn't showing signs of a concussion,.

What happens in the playoffs when the star QB can't return?

NFL might need 3 doctors at every game so they can have more than 1 voice.

The whole thing is going to be ridiculous. Just get em the flag belts already.

So let’s talk Vikings and this weeks game.

Skylar needs all the first team reps all week. Give em the opportunity. Teddy is toast. I can’t stand the guy as a QB. We need to see what we have. Because Tua will never stay on the field. Dolphins fans need to get that thru their head. He is not built to play in the NFL.

Great kid, class act, great teammate…..wonderful but franchise QB and a guy we pick up a 5th year option on and invest in? Come on already.

Let’s see what Skylar really is while Tua is out. And make no mistake….I don’t expect him back for at least two more games minimum. We have two home games coming up. Let the 25 year old rookie get his reps and let’s see what we got.

I am feeling like Byron Jones won’t even play this season.

Howard with a groin? Big trouble. This defense is built on those two lock down CB’s.

We have not played great defense yet this season. We are in trouble. Phillips has been a no show in the pass rush department. Ogbah has been getting pressures…..but sacks are hard to come by now.

I fully expect next offseason the Fins will make a massive push to make a huge trade for Lamar Jackson and make him the highest paid QB in the NFL.

Mark that down.

That 2020 draft is still hanging over this team like a curse…..it has been to this point an unmitigated disaster. GM’s lose jobs over that kind of failure.

Hear you loud and clear on Skylar, felt like the NFL wanted to remove whoever was starting for Miami. I heard they knocked on Bob Griese's door at home to have hm checked for a concussion.

Byron Jones? Not good when you can't make it back form the PUP or IR to start the season. Waste of money mostly and hides how bad we still are. Howard might need a while with the groin, you don't want to tear it completely, that can kill careers.

Fire the GM and keep the Head Coach this time
Fire the Head Coach keep the GM was the last time
Fire the GM and keep the Head Coach the previous go around
Fire the Head Coach and keep the GM would be the time before that last one I mentioned
Wash Rinse Repeat...

I watched Skyler quite a bit when he was at K-State. It actually shocks me that he could even make an NFL roster let alone be a starting QB for a team.

I haven't been able to see him yet at Miami - is he really looking ok? I just never ever saw him as a viable NFL QB when he was at K-State. Maybe a backup - maybe.....

Skylar did not look good against the Jets, he looked really good in preseason.
Hopefully with taking the full game install snaps he'll show that promise against the Vikings.

I don't think the sky(lar) is falling. Hard not to feel like Miami is being punished but still plenty of time to get healthy and bounce back for the playoff push. Had the Vikings in the L column anyways.
