Right. But it’s the same with Penny and I’m banking on him not getting injured either though. I don’t know lol.I think so. Wilson did get a contract worth $200,000 more than Mostert. Wilson had a great start when he was traded to Miami, but he wasn't as good later in the season. Plus, it's RBBC even if Mostert gets hurt.Is it dumb to drop Penny or Anthony Richardson (have Lamar) for Jeff?
Mostert-31 yrs old, last year was the most carries he's ever had over an entire season, 181 carries. 137/2019.Not sure what to think of this RB room, and I feel it will be a three headed monster OR they've been slow playing wilson this preseason.
I agree with the concept that Achane was the guy they picked because they didn't bring a "new" RB in to the fold (as they inquired about Jacobs, Cook, and Saquon before the draft), but the fact they did make an offer to Cook and then got involved in the JT bidding makes me think that they aren't 100% locked in on him as a bell cow. Now, part of that could be they have championship aspirations and don't want to put it all on a rookie, but it does make it a hard room to decipher.Mostert-31 yrs old, last year was the most carries he's ever had over an entire season, 181 carries. 137/2019.Not sure what to think of this RB room, and I feel it will be a three headed monster OR they've been slow playing wilson this preseason.
The odds are not in our favor that an injury riddled career back up can make it another year as the primary starter but that only amounted to about 10-12 carries a game.
Mostert did miss at least 1 game, and started 14 out of 17.
Jeff WIlson-Turns 28 in November, key stat difference between he and Mostert is the success rate of their carries. Thngs like getting 4 yds on 1st down, all the yds needed on 3rd down, and so forth, WIlson clocks in at 47%, Mostert is over 55%, so Raheem is more efficient as a RB and that will limit what WIlson is asked to do. Right now I would think it's 1 out of every 3 drives he gets featured, Wilson and Mostert not the best at catching passes. Which bring us to RB3.
Devon Achane- 21 yr old Rookie RB, reminds this guy a lot of Warrick Dunn, I know he will be worked in slowly but McDaniel has had his eye on Achane for a long time, think there will be a definite plan and come the 2nd Half of the season, I think we will see more and more of Achane but I don't see a guy that will make his living between the Tackles, he needs space to operate and this offense is designed for that.
Hoping to sneak him onto the PS is what I heard. Offense plays per game… 22, 17, 4Find it interesting that they cut Higgins who they drafted to convert to a pass catching TE and kept the UDFA Hill. Watched a breakdown of him and he showed some potential.
Julian Hill is quite a story. Homeless early, adopted in late adolescence. Hard worker. Checkout some of his pancake blocks. He might be our best combo TE, blocking & receiving. Higgins looked good as a downfield receiver. But the TE coach raved about Hill's blocking.Find it interesting that they cut Higgins who they drafted to convert to a pass catching TE and kept the UDFA Hill. I've maintained from the beginning that their only goal was to demonstrate to Taylor that there was no market for him so he would have to come crawling back. Of course, if you only entertain ridiculous offers, that's kind of self-defeating. There clearly was a market for Taylor, although we don't know if it was realisticIrsay must be back on the sauce if he thought that was happening.Irsay/Colts even bigger idiots than I thought if they thought Waddle was a going to be a part of the deal.Barry Jackson tweet

GM, no one does, but this is a differetn animal than what you are up in arms about.Huh.....so Miami fans don't like it when they get ridiculous trade offers involving their super stars? Weird.

1) No one thinks Taylor is worth a 1 other than the colts. they won't pay him as "someone worth a 1" but no one offerred them a high pick for Taylor
2) Waddle is one of the top 4 or 5 young WRs in the game. JJ, Chase, Wilson, the Slim Reaper and then likely waddle
3) Miami's package for Lilliard isn't a lowball offer. Herro and 3 first round picks is only a "bad" offer bc Portland doesn't need Herro and those picks are likely in the twenties. Also, Waddle isn't disgruntled. If Miami figures out a way to give Portland 4 1st rounders then Dame will be in Miami ASAP.
Here is another take. Miami is in a negotiation with Christian Wilkins and they received calls on him bc of the impass. I'm sure if Wilkins wanted out Miami would have made a move, but he wants to play in Miami and is going to play on his rookie deal. Contrast that with them getting rid of Minkah Fitzpatrick when he didn't want to play for them. They gave away a pro-bowler for just one 1st round pick. Being disgruntled lowers anyones asking price the same way you denting your car makes it worth less than it being in pristine condition.
Not that I'm a Heat fan, but interesting that Dame is getting paid a cool $40mm more than Taylor this year.Huh.....so Miami fans don't like it when they get ridiculous trade offers involving their super stars? Weird.
My condolences on that. Tua is a unicorn down here and the teams front office and media PR team has a large part of the fanbase brainwashed into thinking he will make it through an NFL season and he was the better pick over Justin Herbert.GM, no one does, but this is a differetn animal than what you are up in arms about.Huh.....so Miami fans don't like it when they get ridiculous trade offers involving their super stars? My man, I'm just looking for humor in life wherever I can find it. Right now, Miami fan is providing that for me. Thank you.
In all honesty, the dynasty league I play in that I care about the most has Tua as my pilot, so I'm all in on the Fins. Tua is my boy.

Mostert. Achane and Ahmed still have time to get healthy. Brooks looked very good in the preseason, so stay tuned.Wondering who benefits most in the rb room with the Jeff Wilson news? Is it Chris brooks?
Played on 40% of the Off snaps last yearThey just extended Ingold for another 3 years.
Made of glassJeff to IR
Maybe he did not fit into the culture…..then again they took a chance on Chosen who is a total cancerPlayed on 40% of the Off snaps last yearThey just extended Ingold for another 3 years.
Also 30% of the Special Teams snaps
3 yrs/$17.2M...wow and they couldn't find the money to sign D.Cook and it required no draft capital
Stunning to me
I think he can be an explosive weapon if used properly.Achane is going to be a star.

I don’t see bell cow….I see more of a Metcalf (Browns in the 90’s). He does have Warrick Dunn in him too….but Dunn was a special kid coming out…..can’t measure that heart. And Warrick was ****ing strong for his size.
Agreed.I think he can be an explosive weapon if used properly.Achane is going to be a star.

Runs a 4.3 and averaged 6.4 YPC in the mighty SEC. Add in his pass catching ability and I'm not sure why he isn't being talked about more as THE GUY in Miami. Mostert has rarely stayed healthy and is getting long in the tooth. Put me in the pro-Achane camp.
I loved the pick. But tell me…..how many “bell cows” are in the league anymore?I think he can be an explosive weapon if used properly.Achane is going to be a star.

QB……..yeah.Miami cut Elijah Higgins, 5 teams put a claim in for him off waivers, wow! (no other player had more than 2 claims)
That seems like another short sighted move by Coach MM and Grier
9-9 in 2022...McDaniel takes over a team that was 19-15 before he arrived
9-8 in 2021
10-7 in 2020
The bar hasn't moved that much despite a lot of moves
The Dolphins put out lots of good tape on Chris Brooks during games 2 & 3. It was part of the evaluation process and he showed lots of ability between the tackles, breaking tackles, and catching. And he's 230 pounds, slippery and 4.6 for a big back, and could be RB #2 in 2024 when Miami needs to save $. He's probably better at pass blocking than Ahmed. He could be GL back in 2023, but I think Mostert, who gained 10 lbs in the off-season has that role initially. If Brooks plays special teams, he could be active on game day. With J Wilson out for 4+ weeks, Brooks may get a chance.Love the resigning of Ingold...
Watched Chris Brooks tape again...looks really good to my eye. That should the shortyard combo
I think if you ask most in here, they'll tell you I've been pretty good about getting on board with the fans but I also have some reservations. Is it me or it MOP more negative this year than past years?
I think Miami is setting themselves up this year kind of perfectly. Tua's health is what hangs over this team like a cloud, but Miami has not (rightly) extended him at this point (unlike Herbert and Hurts). The entire season rides on the whole narrative of “Can Tua stay healthy all season”. And while that is the narrative of the other 31 teams in this league.......we have 3 seasons now of data on Tua in the NFL.
He does not stay healthy.
So please excuse my pessimism on that narrative. And our OL looks.....average at best. And that’s being nice.
So......it all starts at LA. We never play well on the west coast. So already we are behind the 8 ball.
Herbert vs Tua part 2.
We gotta start the season strong heading into Buffalo week 4. I am hopeful of a 2-1 start heading into week 4.
Chargers - Loss
Patriots - Win
Broncos - Win
I hope Achane can give it a go week 1. I am giddy about his prospects.
I want to be pleasantly surprised about Tua this season. We know in this offense he can be successful. He showed that last season. He needs to avoid heavy hits.....or we are done like dinner and will be looking for a new QB next season.
