Sorry, I was a bit tongue in cheek there. Doesn’t always come through in the printed word. That said, Baker has been excellent for 2 years now, so maybe it’s not all on Cohen.
It's not all Coen. Baker was working his *** off to be a starting QB in the league and his hard work looks to have paid off. I don't know if it will last, but it would seem to be less about Coen and more about Baker.

I agree - seems like Baker’s managed to get 2 OC’s HC jobs now. As long as the new OC isn’t a complete turd, Mayfield should continue to put up good numbers.
To me the most telling sign that he’ll be ok is he lost Godwin & didn’t miss a beat. Then for a couple games he lost Evans, and didn’t miss a beat. Then he lost Otton too for a while, and he was still putting up great numbers with largely a receiving corps held together by band aids and bubble gum.
Mike McCarthy has been pencilled in for New Orleans. The two Rooney Rule interviews have taken place and one of those - Mike Kafka - is coming back for a second interview next week.
It’s going to be Mcacarthy UNLESS Kafka blows the Saints out of the water.
That would be quite a metamorphosis for Kafka.Mike McCarthy has been pencilled in for New Orleans. The two Rooney Rule interviews have taken place and one of those - Mike Kafka - is coming back for a second interview next week.

Mike Kafka qualifies for Rooney Rule? What am I missing?

UPDATE: Kellen Moore is supposed to be in for an interview this coming week. Unsure (to me) if it's a legit interview for the head coach position or if it's due diligence on Mike McCarthy.Mike McCarthy has been pencilled in for New Orleans. Things change fast (hi, Liam Coen!) -- looks like the eraser has come out.Mike McCarthy has been pencilled in for New Orleans.
According to this account, McCarthy “backed out” because the Saints weren’t interested, but who knows the real deal:Mike McCarthy backs out of the Saints’ HC derby.
My speculation: Kellen Moore is the leader in the clubhouse. Mike Kafka is the fallback option.
Lions pass game coordinator Tanner Engstand's name is already involved in substantive discussions for the pending Jets offense coordinator role, per a league source.
Steve Wilks' name has also come up in discussions for the Jets defensive coordinator vacancy, per league source.

Raging NFL success story, working like a charm.Kafka is half Puerto Rican, and participated in the NFL’s minority coach Accelerator Program last year.
JFC Raiders adding Geno/Chip Kelly.Pete Carroll 3 years with LV. Wonder if he and Tom have a QB in mind because otherwise they're sunk as per usual in the brutal AFC West. Beggers can't be choosers, but I would not be thrilled to join the division with Reid/Mahomes, Harbaugh/Herbert, Payton/Nix.
Shane Steichen - this coach deserves better than the trash Indy gave him at QB. I imagine he'll be the top target for teams needing a coach in 2026. If he survives the season, it'll be a miracle.
Mike McDaniel - Fools gold. Fun guy to root for, excellent offensive mind, but he is a good bet to lose the job before the season is up.
Dabol - I think he keeps his job as the Giants are the surprise team of the season.

The #Dolphins and HC Mike McDaniel enter tonight’s game under a ton of pressure.
Draymond Green feels the locker room might be losing faith in the coaches — and that could lead to change ASAP.

Two quick thoughts from tonight:
1. Really impressed with the #Dolphins’ fight. Buffalo is as tough a place/team as there is, and they were right there. Credit to Mike McDaniel.
2. Josh Allen and the #Bills are a wagon. Didn’t play close to their best and still won by double digits. Excellent team, and the schedule softens a bit the next few weeks.

Not the blowout many expected and the #Dolphins played hard for Mike McDaniel. Just a couple of crucial mistakes and a big play by #Bills LB Terrel Bernard that proved the difference in another tight game between these teams in Buffalo.
next week vs Jets. They could also beat Panthers, Browns, Saints, Bengals. This game had all the makings of a trap game. Top team hosting a divisional opponent with nothing to lose on a Thursday night game? Of course some kooky ish is going to go down.
Problem is, if Mia can't get a crazy win here, where do they win?
