49ers Camp Battle (1 Viewer)

You're pimping Gore on 3 carries for 6 yards? Get a clue.
How about the fact that he is gaining more of a role as the season goes on and has proven more effective than Barlow.

WTF are you talking about?? You are clueless guy, gimmie a break. Barlow has been very good the last 5 or 6 games and at no point in any of those games did it appear like Gore was more effective. Wake up

I'm not saying Gore isn't talented, he is, and I'm not saying he won't be the 9ers main RB someday, but Barlow has been running very hard lately, and I'd be surprised if they gave more time to Gore.

You're a clown. Putting aside a half of football today, Ive seen Barlow the last 5 or 6 games looking good to very good, and against some very good defenses. Gore hasnt looked better, thats fact and I dont care what some stupid "success meter" tells me. I dont even care about this garbage situation so Im done wasting my time. Have fun following rbs from the FOX sports success meter :nerd:

:lmao: Yeah sure looks like you don't care one bit. How many times did you have to resort to plain insults in this thread?

With Larry Allen now in the mix. What's the consensus on how this will shake out this year? Looks like it will be an open competition again between Barlow/Gore. I personally think Gore will take Barlow in camp, and have an opportunity to show he can withstand a full season of getting the majority of the carries in good health..

I live in the Bay Area, and I haven't seen any indication that Gore will be given the starting job. Admittedly, there hasn't been any talk about it yet this spring, but I think those who are expecting 250+ carries out of Gore are practicing wishful thinking.

If Gore's knees dont blow out and his arms don't come apart at the shoulder he should overtake Barlow easy. Thats a big if,.....Reminds me of that bumper sticker.

HONK IF PARTS FALL OFF!

Well Nolan was on the radio a few weeks ago and said that it will be an open competition, but he sounded more optimistic about Gore than Barlow. And there's reason for that...Gore - 608yd, 4.8 y/c

Barlow - 581yd, 3.3 y/c

And Gore didn't even start. Granted Barlow was hurt and didn't play four games, that yards per rush is terrible..

Lotta crow being dished out in this thread.
I wouldn't go that far. He won the starting RB job on one of the worst teams in the league in favor of a RB who has averaged 3.4 YPC over the past two seasons. That's not exactly cause for backflips at this point.Gore is certainly better than I gave him credit for, but he has a long way to go before he can be considered a success. Most importantly, he has to stay healthy. He's never been able to do that.

Portis went pro b/c of McGahee. McGahee went Pro because he was (preinjury) going no worse then 3rd to the Texans and (post injury) couldn't risk getting hurt again and missing out of the money.2001 is a long time ago, Gore fans.Colin
Dining on some crow here. One must be able to recognize talent ahead of the rest to scoop up gems like Frank Gore.

The whole agruement was that Gore WOULD win the starting job in SF. What he does with that job is anyones guess right now.

The point of the thread is to figure out who would win the camp battle and be the Niners starting back. I think that much was accomplished.
