The plot thickens! If I'm reading that position correctly, black's last move, Qd5, was a lemon. There's mate-in-2 to be had.
You mean for black? There's lots of easy wins for black, but Em on his own will never find them. He's just focused on winning pieces. White can regroup with c3 followed by Kc2, bring the bishop out. White loses his rook but against Eminence that won't matter. If I'm reading that position correctly, black's last move, Qd5, was a lemon. There's mate-in-2 to be had.

Em was telling the truth?
The moves c3 and Kc2 are not possible. You mean for black? There's lots of easy wins for black, but Em on his own will never find them. He's just focused on winning pieces. Sorry, looking at it backwards. I meant f3 and Kf2.The moves c3 and Kc2 are not possible. You mean for black? There's lots of easy wins for black, but Em on his own will never find them. Not if black is Eminence! That position is hopeless for white.
We knew that. But we're talking about chess now.Em swore at me last night because he's slow
I just spent 5 mins catching up on this thread, I have to admit that's the most I've laughed out loud in a long time, and your comment above was the icing on the cake.My assumption also. When we played he was just randomly moving pieces around. He must be black if his screen shot shows he's at the bottom, right?
(I assume he's cheating and using a computer to decide his moves.)
5. Ne5 was such an amateurish move.Kasparov d. Bender (0-1)
I allowed a Reti opening for some awful reason - an opening where I'm only about 8 moves deep on the theory.
Stupid.
Nicely done Kaspy.
(to be clear, in case the above seemed like I was being a bad sport, Kaspy would have killed me even if I played a London System instead...he's truly a remarkable player).
Bender, thanks for the kind words, you played extremely well too! It was a close fought battle until deep into the middlegame. I'd like to post some of my analysis/thoughts for this but I'm totally swamped today! I'll get to it over the weekend.5. Ne5 was such an amateurish move.Kasparov d. Bender (0-1)

Accomplishes so little, ultimately wastes a tempi, I'm probably maddest at myself for that one.
11. Qc2 - not so great - probably need to bring my Knight around to f3 instead here - placing the queen so she's starting at a locked pawn chain was not so brilliant. d2 was a better square for her long term.
Around move 18 - usually one of your bishops is a bad bishop, but this is pretty interesting that both bishops are "bad". Pawns on light squares, but my dark square bishop is biting on a rock. I should have tried to open this position a lot sooner than I did.
Looks like the rest of the inaccuracies and mistakes are covered pretty well in the link.
I didn't lose to Em. He was moving about once every 3 days. So I stopped playing after Tim called the match off. And then Em called me names. Not that anyone cares, but eminence challenged me and I beat him in about 20 moves. Reiterating the fact that I suck, there's no way Abe lost that badly unless something weird happened (or Abe is superbad).

Very fun! I was thoroughly outclassed by the excellent Kutta but certainly enjoyed it. Great game GB!Kutta wins agains Aerial Assault.
Fun game.
Based on my talking with Kaspy, he's a retired chess player so there is no rating, but I believe he was 2300+ FIDE in his playing days based on what I can gather (and possibly higher)Hey Kasparov, what's your irl rating?
Got it! - will post it in a fewJB, I sent you the AA/nysfl2 game from round 4; let me know if you want it sent again. I'd like to see the analysis of that one if you have time.
http://en.lichess.org/OnYTWnCe#0Thanks, JB! Also just sent (moments ago) Kutta's win against me from Round Five.
Yup, I did feel like I was playing against a master in this one and hoping for a draw at best. Once I went down the pawn, it was over. I thought Kutta's game was flawless and glad to see it was. Thanks, JB!http://en.lichess.org/OnYTWnCe#0Here ya go brother. Thanks, JB! Also just sent (moments ago) Kutta's win against me from Round Five.
Tough one for you as Kutta was mistake free. I've said it before, but playing against 0 mistakes and 10 or less centipawn loss after 35 moves is like playing a Master. Not much you can do man - Kutta played out of this world - I do know his Slav is very solid as we played almost the same opening together). You played well, Kutta played flawless. Can't do much about it but analyze the game and maybe see where you lost sight of your plan. Sick game Kutt!!!
Heh. Hmm, surprised the puter was that tough on both of us, as it was a fun, freewheeling game. Two massive blunders in there that I failed to take advantage of
