No, it looks goofy. If it didn't have so much utility, it'd get laughed out of serious style discussions. It's just that sometimes...well...one has a lot of stuff.

But it looks similar to when guys wear sneakers with their suit or when women wear tennis shoes with skirts. Something is off.

It's why dress codes that are completely non-utilitarian are also prone to these abuses. I think dress-up should be for parties, not to signal some sort of weird adherence to a conscious ethic about that which is appropriate for work, work being, at its essence, function and achievement above all other things.
