Yah, because I'm not ashamed about the fake football team I'm about to draft. You lost me at Pokemon.
You should be ashamed at yourself.
To preface this, I haven't used automation for that.Anyone mess with phone automation?
The main I want automation for is to turn on GPS when I open certain apps - Maps, Pokeman, Yelp, etc.
I tried using MacroDroid to do this and it said my phone needed to be rooted in order to toggle GPS. Does anyone know if this is the case with all automation apps?
LG V20 maybe? It is out next month. New Nexussses rumored for October. Note 7 is baller though.Sign up via Project Fi and get a Nexus 5X for $200![]()

I pre-ordered the Note 7 so I can get the 256 gigabyte memory card should be here tomorrowLooking for a new phone. Think I'm switching back to Android. Likely the Note 7 unless there is something better out. I switched to Apple because all my companies apps are iOS only but I never use them. Anything on the horizon that is worth waiting for?
I've seen those offers. I have to order through my work's "portal" so I can't get the memory card or the Gear Fit 2. I have to pay for the phone ($225) and they pay the bill so I can't really complain.I pre-ordered the Note 7 so I can get the 256 gigabyte memory card should be here tomorrow
I'm currently on a Note 3
Note 7 is the best you can buy right now unless you really need the pure Android experience then wait for the new Nexus, but even then the hardware in the Note 7 will be better.I've seen those offers. Google HangoutsNote 7 ordered. Will be back on Android next week. My biggest hesitation to coming back was my 8 year old has an old iPhone with no service that he uses to iMessage me when he's on wifi. I'm sure there is an app we can use for him to do that. Any suggestions?
Allo looks like its going to be more of an assistant, I am pretty excited about it. They arent getting rid of Hangouts exactly, they are pushing it towards their enterprise customers. How many times have they changed the name of this thing...
Not sure if it's feasible for your situation or can be done across different phones but I've used the programmable Samsung Tectiles since my Galaxy S3. One at my desk at work, one at my door for walking in to the house, one in my car etc. Just hold the phone up to it and via NFC it will toggle WiFi, GPSAnyone mess with phone automation?

It will be their WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. Messenger is not going anywhere as far as I have heard, they need that one to placate carries who worry about end users using data instead of SMS for messenging purposes.what is allo, i really can't tell.. a texting app replacing their "messenger" or a chatting app like yahoo messenger or AOL IM?
Duo is great
I really don't get those.Jaysus said:It will be their WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. Messenger is not going anywhere as far as I have heard, they need that one to placate carries who worry about end users using data instead of SMS for messenging purposes.
Check out Llama app. I've been using it for years. You can do all kinds of automation and it's has less of a learning curve than similar apps. I use it to change profiles at different times during the day (silent at night/meetings, louder on weekend day) Toggle wifi on and off at night, etc.Anyone mess with phone automation?

Even though I got the discounted price through work I decided to submit for the free 256GB memory card through the Samsung site to see it I could get it. It was approved.I've seen those offers. (and belljr too) how "slippery" is it without a case?Even though I got the discounted price through work I decided to submit for the free 256GB memory card through the Samsung site to see it I could get it. It was approved.
Hmm - I don't notice it slippery but haven't grabbed it with wet hands or anything. I oruchased a minimal case for it off the bat fro spidgen for 9 bucks.(and belljr too) how "slippery" is it without a case?
I don't feel like it's too slippery. I haven't dropped it yet. I have no intention of getting a case.Jaysus said:(and belljr too) how "slippery" is it without a case?
Looks a lot like the old GoogleTalkIt will be their WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. Messenger is not going anywhere as far as I have heard, they need that one to placate carries who worry about end users using data instead of SMS for messenging purposes.
I'm coming from a note 3 so this is outstanding imocstu said:Anyone else a little disappointed at the recent phone offerings? I read the review of the Note 7, a great phone itself, but hardly an improvement over my nearly two year old Nexus 6. Faster processor and an extra GB of RAM. It also looks good, but for someone who puts a case on their phone this is not a selling point. The biggest thing that makes the Note 7 better is a microSD port but that's not a technological improvement. I also felt the 6P was somewhat of a downgrade from the Nexus 6 since it removed wireless charging.
I'm with you. Completely unsure what my next phone will be, nothing seems worthy of replacing my Nexus 6.cstu said:Anyone else a little disappointed at the recent phone offerings? Is that global or US?cstu said:

My wife and I said the same thing. We had our phones for 3 years. And I wasn't going to get a new one just because. The free watch and memory card were some ok incentives.I'm not really sure what anyone's really getting from more recent phones that they don't already have.
The phones are getting good enough these days that I feel like as long as you can keep the phone in good shape (read, not dropping it, soaking it, or losing it/getting it stolen) and do a reasonable job of cleaning it up from time to time (deleting things you don't really use, cleaning the cache, etc), that there's little reason you can't get multiple years out of a phone.. switching yearly or even every two years seems financially dump.
I have an s4 mini and other than some camera power and processing speed and battery life (which is a non-issue given swappable battery) I'm not sure what people with a galaxy s7 are really getting out of their phone that I'm not.
Last I saw here in the US it was like 65% vs 30% in favor of Android...it was well over double, but that might have changed in the last 6-9 months...no idea.Is that global or US?
Globally I could believe, because Apple has so little presence in third world countries, china, india, etc.
In the US that's a bit hard to believe simply because I know so many iphone users.... but that could be because I don't know nearly as many poor people as I do college graduates also... and all the ultra discount carriers all use droids
I don't think there is any 'thing' in my life that I rely more than my smartphone. I've been having some recent problems with GPS and phone coverage that is a problem with the phone itself and I'm out of warranty. Spending 200 to 300 bucks to fix this issue doesn't seem like a big deal given how much I rely the phone, even if it seems like a lot of money for something that is 2 years old.My wife and I said the same thing. We had our phones for 3 years. And I wasn't going to get a new one just because. The free watch and memory card were some ok incentives.
Anyway that being said my phone worked just fine but after we both upgraded - its a huge difference to me. My internet and 4g connectivity is way better. I know it shouldn't be but i get reception at my desk i didn't before. I just put a new battery in my note 3 and it's still nowhere as good as the new phone.
Phone calls are super clear.
The video is amazing.
And it's just faster.
yes I agree it's wasted money and I could have got buy just fine with the old one. But things are definitely notcieable
