I'm very interested in going. I was thinking about the Super Bowl. But with the high cost of SB tickets, it doesn't seem too likely. I think it would be cheaper for me to fly into Chicago to watch the championship game than it would be to stay nearby and go to the Super Bowl. What's the best and cheapest route to get tickets? I'm guessing scalping at the game but I'm not sure. Anyone have a clue on what I should expect to pay for a single ticket? Greatly appreciated.

Cheapest tickets at Stub Hub right now is 400-500 for a pair.

Hotels will run you about 150-250 a night. I could rent my condo to you for a good deal

News on the way home from the game mentioned that ticketrs are going for $400 - $3,000 per.

I'll be at the game. Look for me in the south endzone. I'll be the guy in the Urlacher jersey :goodposting:

Not sure if I'm going yet.

I always go on someone else's season tickets and the thought of cashing in on it is very appealing to him, and rightfully so.

Just saw where they're releasing more tickets Tuesday at 10 AM. See www.ChicagoSports.com for more info.

Anyone know about the type of transportation I can use from the airport to Soldier and back? Surely, they're going to have some type of bus or something.

Also, I've been told to fly in and out of Midway. How far is Midway from Soldier field and is O Hare out of the question?

You can take the El from either airport and get about 6 blocks (Rossevelt and State/Wabash) away and hike the rest.http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/rail/rail.html

Here's a link to the rail system

Midway - Take the Orange line to the Roosevelt stop.

O'Hare - Take the Blue and you should be able to transfer to the red around the dopwntown area. If not, the Purple can get you to the Red.

Once you get off at Roosevelt, the masses adorn in Blue and Orange will lead you to Soldier Field my friend

Midway is a lot closer than OHare. If you fly into Midway, take the orange line to Roosevelt and follow the crowd. If you fly into OHare, take the blue line to Lake street and transfer to the Red Line, exit Roosevelt and follow the crowd.I really recommend taking public transportation, you get a nice 6 block tour of the city. You usually get better deals flying into Midway. Check out Southwest.

You can take the L from either airport and get about 6 blocks (Rossevelt and State/Wabash) away and hike the rest.
Thanks Ditka. Sorry but what's the L? And is it feasible to use either airport? I had someone suggest that I take Midway because it was much closer. But then I tried using mapquest and it said O Hare was closer. The latest I could find a flight leaving Sunday night was at 9:00 out of O hare. So, I'd like to take that one to make sure I can get back to the airport in time. Thanks again. :lmao:

Thanks bro. Just wanted to make sure I could get back to O Hare in time for my flight to leave at 9. :lmao:ETA: The latest flight I could find out of Midway was at 745. That worries me that I might not make it back it time. I'm guessing it would take a good while to get back but i don't know.

The "L" is the elevated train system, the orange line goes from Midway and you want to get off at State/wabash and roosevelt. You do not want to take public transportation from there, there will be total gridlock, it only takes 15-20 mins to walk from there. Just follow the crowd, you can't miss it.

The El is the Elevated train system that goes through the city and yes it is feasible to use either airport.I'd be suprised if O'hare was closer. Regardless, the distance from Soldier Field to either airport is probably minimalWith a 2 o'clock kickoff on Sunday, that gives you about 3-3.5 hours to get from Soldier Field to getting on the plane. You should be fine with O'Hare

It is not that much longer on the public train system to get to Ohare, you shouldn't have any problems getting there for A 9:00 flight. You take the "Blue line " to Ohare.

I'd play it safe and fly out of O'Hare. You'll probably make the 7:45 flight out of Midway, but there's no chanceyou miss the later flight out of O'Hare

:yucky: Plus, you may want to hang around and celebrate for a awhile before your Flight.
 Any suggestions about how to go about getting tickets? I've been looking around on the net and they're going for around $400 minimum for a single. Is scalping a terrible idea? I know they're always cheaper that way but I don't want to get there and be #### out of luck.

I wasn't out in the tailgate area yesterday, but I saw NO ONE selling tickets yesterday.

I don't think scalping will be cheaper, untill after the game starts, if anybody is still left holding, they will want to get rid of them. I haven't bought tickets from a scalper there in a very long time.

Thanks guys. I'm orginally from the Nashville area and always scalped tickets to the Titans games, even during the playoffs. But I figured it probably be a totally different story being the Championship game in Chicago. As Rounders suggested, I'm gonna try Stub Hub and anywhere else I can find.

Do you work over there?
NopeI went to the game and we parked in the North Garage. That's where the deisgnated parking is for the person I go with. We usually meet up with someone that parks in the South Lot for some pregame festivities, but the guy was out of town on business and didn't go to the game.

gotcha. I was hoping to go to a few games this year, but the person I knew with season tickets sold all of his games this year, so I stayed home with the kids to watch the games. After you have a couple of kids , it's hard to get some time to do something for yourself.

On the Bears message boreds, there has been a lot of talk of fake tickets being sold at the games this year. Ones that look very legit as well.

I wouldn't recommend buying them there personally, but if you do watch out...

I don't know anything about public transportation - I have a big gas guzzling SUV. :lmao:

And yes, me and my gas guzzling SUV will be there on Sunday. :D

Are ticket holders actually going to go to the game this week ? :D

...There were 6,659 no-shows for the game and a crowd of 55,525 attended. ...

Who knows, maybe scalpers ate those as they refused to drop their prices. Could even be a problem at the gates - I have entered games this season where my ticket was never checked or scanned.

I didn't see many emty seats if any. Not sure how noticable that amount would be. I am going to the game as well. No tailgating, did too much of it, just want to get my drink on and get back to the bar to see who the Bears will be playing.

It looks like I'm going to pay 450-500 for the cheapest seats. I can get one in upper level of the endzone or the corner of the grandstand for about the same price. Which do you guys reccomend?

Check that. Found one on Stub Hub for 425+fees in section 438, which is between 40-50yd line. I think this is the one I'm going with.

That is the exact section I sat in last week. Its in the top level, but right around the 30 - 40 yard line. I still felt right on top of the action. Good stuff.

I will be in the South endzone too this week. Going with my WCOFF $ partner on his tickets.

flapgreen, you've received lots of good advice here. FWIW, I was at the game last week and didn't see any empty seats at all, and the word around here is that tickets have been much more difficult to come by this week, so I think it's smart you got yours in advance.

Regarding the game, I will be there as well and will be heading to O'Hare for a flight to NY at 8:50 pm (going to NY tomorrow morning for work, returning tomorrow night to make the game on Sunday, then back to NY Sunday night for work again--ugh!). Since I'll be driving up that way, if you (or anyone else) should need a ride, I'd be happy to accommodate. You will, of course, have to go through my 1985-question survey to make sure you're not a psychopath or serial-rapist, but assuming you achieve the minimum 60% passing grade... Seriously, happy to help with that or any question you might have; just PM me if you'd like.

Bear down, Chicago Bears!

Street prices arereportedly dropping per article in today's Trib. The get-in price will probably be $200 or less, but there are some really crappy seats if you're way up high at Soldier, so its worth it to pay a bit more.
