Apologies - Forums running very slow (1 Viewer)

Hi Folks,

Apologies as our forums are continuing to run very slow.

We've got an escalated ticket in with https://xenforo.com/ that hosts the forums. We pay them for using the software and also to host the forums and they are working on the issue. They are normally very responsive and we hope to have a solution soon.

Thanks for the patience.

Please give this post a "like" or thumbsup if you're experiencing the slow performance as well.

I hadn't noticed. Kidding. But yeah the last couple days seem to be the worst yet. If I wanna check the forums I just open the homepage and then go do something else for a little bit, lol. Not even a joke really.

I grew up in the age of dial up waiting 45 minutes to watch 45 second videos on Ebaum’s World, hoping someone upstairs didn’t pick up the phone and ruin my download.

So it’s kind of nostalgic.

I can log in to the forums quickly now, instead of taking 47 seconds (I timed it earlier today) for the site to process my username/password. (y)

Is anyone else getting delays when clicking to check Notifications, or to give thumbs? I'm getting minor delays, like 10 seconds or less.

Good to know because I sure thought this thread
deserved a little more attention

It was indeed. We had another slowdown on the forums a couple of hours ago. Took down some features to speed things up, etc. - same scenario as yesterday.

This time we were able to examine the symptoms more closely and confirm that the forums were under a distributed denial of service attack.

We added some extra protection and the problem subsided. Speed picked back up and we turned all the features back on.

Hopefully that'll help us deflect those attacks in the future. We'll continue monitoring.

They may still be trying to motivate Tatum Bell.
