Benson Is Terrible (1 Viewer)

I still cant believe the idiocy of some of the posters in here still.....especially Bears fans. Keith Lewis seems like just a kid with some kind of personal thing with Benson. Im convinced he hasnt seen a Bear game all year. But the Bears fans are disappointing to me. Our o-line is the problem with our offense. Its been all year, and it should be the recipient of ALL our attacks. Simply put, the most talented group of offensive skill players in the world couldnt have success without an o-line giving them holes, or a push, or the time to throw. Its the most basic thing in football and I would hope Bears fans would understand that.
:sadbanana: The voices of reason are far and few in this thread.

I was thinking the same exact thing.Very well put. You hit the nail right on the head
I said it in another thread a few months ago, but my best guess would be that Cedric Benson slept with Lewis girlfriend at some point in his life. Not a personal attack, just a gut feeling, as Ive never seen so much hate for one person probably ever in FF, it down right smells of something personal.

You just cant hate someone that much that you dont know personally. Its extremely immature; just plain dumb in my opinion.

Benson may not have been the problem. The problem is they traded thier best offensive player away...TJ. He played well in that poor system..
That "poor system" was better last year because quite simply the O-line played much better last year.
Anyone who can't see that--and there are apparently quite a few--is a fool.
Exactly. BOTH of these statements can be true: 1) Benson sucks, 2) the Bears O-line sucks. It's almost as if the Benson haters can't admit that the O-line also sucks. And Benson supporters refuse to just say "yeah, our man lacks toughness". The reason for this is a mystery. I chalk it up to stupidity, but perhaps I'm being unfair.

Right there with you. They both suck balls. But for some reason, if you say Benson sucks, you're a fool and automatically blaming the entire Bears failure this year solely on him. :D

Cedric Benson had the cast removed from his broken left ankle Monday.

Benson promises to return at 100% next season and downplayed rumors he began the 2007 season out of shape. He says the Bears would be "wasting their time" by bringing in competition at tailback. "I feel it's established," Benson said. "I don't feel like I need to prove anything. I just got sidelined."

:lmao:

AWESOME!!!

It would cost me a 3rd-round pick to keep this stiff next season.

Unless he runs for 150+ yards in every preseason game, there's about a 0.5% chance I'll do so.

has there ever been a more deluded RB than Benson? He's like FredEx without the talent.Yes, I know FredEx had no talent....LOL
 At least FredEx had a signature play to hang his hat on.

Super Bowl XLI1-10-CHI 48 (2:46) C.Benson up the middle to CHI 48 for no gain (B.Sanders). FUMBLES (B.Sanders), RECOVERED by IND-D.Freeney at CHI

I went against my better judgement and kept this stiff in my 2 person keeper league, the funny thing is he was my most consistent RB for most of the season thanks to all the injuries.

What happened to the Benson Blows title?
It wasn't excellent to Cedric. :towelwave:
That maybe so, but everytime I saw the title it made me smile.Blows or terrible?? Pretty much the same thing in my book.
I don't think it's the same thing. "Benson Blows" gets people in the door. It's something catchy. "Benson is terrible" is a poor attempt at a euphemism IMO. If the powers that be wish to change the title so that no one is offended, maybe they should say "Starting runningback for the Chicago Bears is having a negative outcome season". That way the title is completely sterilized.

Is this seriously a quote from Cedric? I like to think of myself as sarcastic and humorous but even I couldn't parody something that over the top. He's even more of a peach than I thought.

per rotoworld tonight:

Bears GM Jerry Angelo confirmed Thursday that Cedric Benson will have to compete to be the team's starting running back in 2008. "I'd like to think he could still be a feature back, but there's going to be competition," said Angelo, who indicated he'll use the draft to find a new back. Benson thinks he's proved himself, but no sane person would agree.
poor Cedric, I'm sure we'll hear a dumb### response to this very soon.

I'm almost hoping Cedric stays around for the comedic value. It won't be long till the whole team will just point at Ced and laugh every time he enters the locker room. :lmao:

I heard an interesting tidbit on the radio this morning. In the last 6 year of drafting (Angelo got here after the draft in 2001), the Bears have drafted exactly 4 offensive linemen. It's not a wonder that the average age for their starting O-line is 73. Holy ####.

Benson may indeed suck...or blow...or whatever, but he's got a bunch of geriatric, false-starting, bad tempered old farts trying to open holes for him.

And no, I don't want the Bears to draft/sign a franchise QB - they'll just get him killed behind that pile of line.

 Best thing for CB is to get traded and as far away from the Windy Outhouse as possible.

best thing for CB would be for him to shut his mouth until he backs it up on the field.
Fixed.I don't know what planet Benson is from, but it isn't the Planet of Running Backs with Heart and NFL Talent. How he can think he has come close to proving himself is beyond me. The RB spot is just one of many (8-10?) on the Bear offense that needs to be addressed in the off season.

from rotoworld:

The surgery Cedric Benson underwent to repair his fractured ankle required a small plate to hold the bone together.

A source told the Chicago Sun Times that the plate and surgery "may cost him a step." Really, how much slower could he be?

Thank God my thread got bumped.

I still hate the fact it was renamed by "The man" to "Benson is Terrible" from "BENSON BLOWS".....but that's water under the bridge.

Especially after Benson's little boating incident I would be willing to bet my mortgage that he will not be a Bear for much longer.

As far as I’m concerned he can’t be cut soon enough, they should have done both him and Grossman about half way thought the 2007 season!!!

Long live my Benson Blows thread!!!!

If Benson did't blow before he sure does now.

The next question is, will he ever play in the NFL again?

I bet somebody will take a shot at him for the league minimum, any guesses where he ends up?

Detroit?

Houston?

Tampa?

Arizona?

Seattle?

In that order.
