Blueprint Juice Diet (1 Viewer)

DrJ has a point here. Really, he had me at "Twinkies."
You work on patent law, right? Any way I could package this up, throw a few disclaimers on it and patent it? Bottom line is that there's an assload of people out there that don't care about being healthy, they simply want to look healthy. There's a gigantic market for this #### if you ask me. We're talking boatloads if marketed properly.
I'm still not buying in.were you the one saying you pounded 2 liter cokes?on the dr j diet plan otis could drink a 2 liter coke (800 cal)eat a Scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast:Two large eggs (143)Three strips of bacon (138)1/2 cup hash browns (207)One slice whole wheat toast (100)Total: 588 calorieswhopper for lunch (700 cal)and be left with 300 cal to make it through the day.and that's with no fries.my point being that your junk food diet is too calorie dense compared with food value.on the other hand, the healthy food diet lets him eat 5.5 lbs of tilapia, which really doesn't sound right for losing weight, but that's what the numbers say at 27 cal/oz.I DO, however, 110% agree with and endorse the portion control approach.basically, don't eat like a ####### pig or you'll turn into one.
He's not going to be as hungry when he's drinking all that coke. That's a lot of calories and can really tide you over. If you don't like ingesting a good portion of your calories in liquid format then sub that out for coffee and you've got about 1000 calories to play with instead. I've been off coke for 3 days and I'm getting hungry more often and having to eat more. It's pretty easy to make this all work.

Another thing to consider, the whopper is also a pretty gigantic sandwich. A McDouble has 390 calories - a bacon McDouble is 478. Even if you go with a Bacon Double at BK you're talking 580. And it's way cheaper than a whopper too since that's their flagship sandwich. If you supersize everything you're going to run short on calories fast. You stick to their $1 menus and you save cash and calories. I do like the breakfast here because it allows a lot of wiggle room. Here's the way you play this - don't shoot for an exact 210, give yourself a range with a little bit of a buffer. 205 - 215. When you're closer to that 215, you skip the hash browns. When you're closer to the 205, add them in, and make some pancakes if you want them too. If you're on the low side and you want a whopper, sure. If you're on the high side, a double cheeseburger without the bacon will feed your hunger for the most part, maybe even go with a single. It becomes really easy to maintain this sort of thing with this strategy. Small periods of indulgence mixed with small periods of slight calorie restriction. All dictated by where you are in your target range. I typically fluctuate from low 170's to low 180's.And if you want to slowly substitute healthier stuff in here, that's all good too. But don't burn yourself out being over the top with it. Slow any systematic.

Feeling so sick. Finally relented and had a half cup of black coffee. It's only helping the headache very little. This was a terrible idea. I talked to a hundred pound chick at my office who informed me she tried this last year and only made it 2 days. I may do the same here. This is brutal. It's like a really bad hangover that sticks with you all day. I may or may not puke these vile juices all over my commuter train on the way home. I may have to pull the ripcord in the morning. Ill stay on the low cal super healthy diet, but this is nuts. Anyone want expensive juice?
Send it to me and I'll see if I can do it longer than your record of 12 hours...

fwiw, since New Years, I'm down 8 lbs on a much smaller frame: 153 -->145. I haven't skipped a single meal, I eat as much as I want, and I feel like I'm 22 years old again. I hope to loose 3-5 more lbs before I plateau out.

Where's that stupid hangover smiley. I feel awful.
This thread isn't about you anymore. Its about how everyone can lose weight by eating 10 twinkies a day.
It's scientifically proven. Unlike man made global warming which most of you buy into.
I honestly cant tell if you're being serious. On the off chance you are, where has it been scientifically proven?
Twinkie diet guy's experiment. This has been done, and the results absolutely demonstrated that calories are what matters. We can use Otis as an experiment too, it will show the same thing.
Look we rarely agree but you are smarter than this. You know full well one persons anecdotal experience isn't anything like scientific proof.

No one didn't think you wouldn't lose weight starving yourself. What we were saying is it isn't healthy or sustainable and you are very likely to put it back on plus some. Congrats to this point though.

Oh yeah?:challengeblackdot:
I hope you achieve your goals and are trim and svelte for your vacation. I also hope you find a healthy way to maintain it so you can have as long as possible with your lovely family.

Otis, take heed:Monday: 175.6Today: 172.6My decision to cut pop is making my weight go into free fall. There'll be almost no way I can keep in the 170's.I have eaten nothing over this time other than cheeseburgers, pizza, gyros, chicken nuggets, corn dogs, french fries, oreos, jello, ice cream (one bowl had a pile of whipped cream on it), and multi vitamins. This diet is infallible.

:blackdot: for May.I think the Memorial Day Otis Weight over/under should be around 240; I'd take the over.
Ill take the under. How much?

Heads up, #####???!
oh, hell no. the day before Memorial day, you will do some asinine crash diet to cash in.Think about this for a minute though...if we were to have a bet that you couldn't keep your weight under 230 for 52 consecutive weeks, what would your diet look like?

Congrats. Looks like, in losing your 3 pounds, you've made great strides towards advanced heart disease and cancer risks. You've eaten a diet that contains probably less than 10% of your calories coming from nutrition rich foods when it should be 90% or greater. So keep up the good work.

All of the meat is very nutrition rich. That's like a staple of this paleo/primal thing. So are the multi vitamins. Jello is really good for you too, even with the sugar. Animals need gelatin. Ice cream comes from cows, just a lot of sugar in it. But I've more than offset that elsewhere.3 lbs #####es, slap it high!

:goodposting: That's really all there is to it, unless you are just looking for a quick fix. The only time I find that I gain weight is when I go a couple of days of stuffing myself, like around the holidays. It just takes a week or so getting back to normal portion control to drop it again. That and switching to strictly flavored seltzers. I'll have a can of coke or iced tea maybe once a week but that's it.You can eat everything you love, just don't stuff your face with it. You should never feel full, just not hungry. At it's not the worst thing in the world to feel hungry either.eta: and once you manage a good portion control diet, you can start cutting out some of the things that aren't that good for you and start eating healthier.

to me, paleo isn't so much about what you should eat, it's about what you should avoid. Pretty much everything you mentioned above is on the list of things to avoid - dairy, grains, processed sugars, vegetable oil.

I only ate the meat from the gyros, and I skipped the fries that meal. Baby steps. And minus the pop, I've cut my processed sugar in 1/2, maybe even 1/3. Another cut or two and a vegetable mixed in - I'm primal baby!

Otis now that your ironman-like run at the juice diet is over, please change the thread title to "DrJ spewing diet advice". At least he appears to have some staying power.

Sounds good. I could be like one of those advice gurus. Give me your current weight, target weight, and current diet. I'll help you make it happen without killing yourself (in the short term). Then when you're skinny it's up to you if you actually want to be healthy. This could make the brand recognition of the DrJ Lazy Sloth Diet go through the roof. Boatloads.

Let me know when you're averaging over 2lbs a day weight loss and then let's talk, mkay?

I personally have lost about 20 lbs so far this year (285 to 264). Been eating salads at lunch instead of fried crap, and generally trying to limit my caloric intake as much as possible. I also have been doing the Power 90 workout off and on.Still have a BUNCH to go to my goal of 220 (6'1" and large frame), but well on my way.
