Brady & Moss to skip ProBowl (1 Viewer)

As I said in the other thread:

Stay classy, Pats.

I guess wound licking takes longer than a few days when your gigantic ego gets popped.

I'm all for hounding the Patriots and their fans, but I think this is a non-story. This is pretty standard for players who just lost the Super Bowl. Would you go to the Pro-Bowl and celebrate in Hawaii after losing the biggest game of your career the week before? If I'm Brady and Moss I'm not leaving the house for a month. Well Brady at least. I'm sure Moss has to go to court for, allegedly, beating up that woman in Florida.

Edit to add: 18-1

I have to agree that this is commonplace, but I'm all for rubbing salt in the wounds of these players just because of who they are.

Another reason why, if you are going to bother with the game at all, it should be held the Monday before the Super Bowl. Give the guys an extra day, and obviously neither of the SB teams would have players there, but you miss most of them anyway as it is.

Can't be worse.

I think this year is a little different. Brady was the NFLs MVP and broke the single season TD pass record. He should represent himself and his team.

It makes them both look like sore losers.

I'm not sure I understand your logic here. So because Brady had a stellar regular season he's supposed to fly to Hawaii, have fun and play a meaningless game in which the best thing that can happen is he doesn't get hurt. Dude just lost the Super Bowl and was fell to the ground 18 times last night.

I've got no problem with Brady skipping it - he's got a bad ankle and just took a serious beating. Moss, on the other hand, has no excuse. He's just punking out.

anyone who is fortunate enough to be voted to the Pro Bowl should fulfill the honor by playing in the game if they are able to.

Non story. Isn't this common for Brady?J
Yes, he usually plays in the Pro Am golf tournament. Besides, most seasoned vets skip it anyways to not risk injury and let the younger guys play. Anyways guys, Brady has 3 rings. How many do your teams starting QB's have? Jealousy is rough, eh?

Next topic started by {Syrus} ... place your bets!

a) AP Wire Reports: Gisele says Tom is impotent

b) Thousands of Bostonians hang themselves

c) Junior Seau beats up 14 year-old for wearing Giants jersey

d) Red Sox also caught cheating

IMO if a player voluntarily skips the Pro Bowl for no apparent reason (injuries excluded), they should be removed from future Pro Bowl ballots. It's a slap in the face to fans and other players in the league.

Happens every year for players in the SB, which is why we shoudln't be worried about having it the weekend before the SB.

Players can be nominated, so it's not like you wouldn't be credited with the Pro Bowler title, if they made it to the SB you'd just have to get an alternate for that spot, like they do with so many anyway.

LOL is it just me, or does it sound like this guy has been saying this same statement for the last two days straight? My QB has three rings, what do YOU have? Hahahaha. It's like what yankee fans have been saying since 2000. Yes Pats fans, you are Yankee fans.

Actually, I think he's making a smart business move. He's an Unerstricted Free Agent. Why risk an injury when you can earn a big payday. there's a small chance he leaves via FA, but I think eventually he will re-sign with the Pats, and he will want to hear other offers for his ego's sake and possibly drive up the Pats price. In ether case, he can't risk any injury.

Bob Kraft probably gives Moss lots of under the table money, they sign him to a well-below-average contract, and then miraculously have tons of money for other free agents. We know how how it works for them.

Since he's been invisible for the last month, he really needs to go there to show other teams what he's capable of doing or he's not going to get any big offers.
