Breaking Bad on AMC (3 Viewers)

This isn't very complicated and need not cause any anger.

Landry is Landry and that's that. It might be mildly annoying for those that haven't seen FNL, but for those that have, he's just Landry and they know why. Some folks put up with a little annoyance and in return, we will happily clarify who Landry is for as long as the question gets asked.

Also, we won't say stupid things like "How do you not know who Landry is?". (though, of course, we'll strongly recommend you watch FNL)

Just please don't ask me to call that cold-blooded child murder "Todd".
Except when he's Lance.

I guess I can't be too pissed...except at the fact that no one here apparently watches Sons of Anarchy and no body else recognized that one of the train engineers was Cammy Hayes. :(
:hifive:I saw it right away too. My wife on the other hand said "who??"I liked Ireland. Buncha haters up in here.

Landry was also in Paul. He plays charming nice guy who outkicks his coverage, badass, AND child murderer. Dude's hitting all the notes.

I also wondered about the dirt we saw go into one of the tanks. I didn't catch which it was.
Yeah, that, and water. They started pumping water into the top of the tanker after they'd drawn about 300 gallons of the methylamine from the bottom. Water is denser than methylamine (since they were adding 920 gallons of water to replace 1,000 gallons or methylamine), so the water should sink to the bottom. After they started adding water to the tanker, they were probably drawing a water-methylamine solution toward the end rather than pure methylamine.
This is what I thougt too. In terms of suspense and great dialogue, this episode was definitely top 5. The opening foreshadow and ending scene were perhaps the greatest cinematic display in TV history. But I found it a little unfortunate we had to suspend some semblance of reality to get through the episode. Examples include:

- Walt somehow knowing that him crying to Hank would both get Hank to leave the room (somewhat believable) AND that he would shut the blinds (not nearly as believable).

- the bug coming in so clearly

- them knowing EXACTLY where the train would stop and the coincidence of that being the perfect distance from the road to line up with the bridge

- the random train whistles in the distance way before the train even gets to the road

Really not trying to complain but that episode definitely had the chance to be the best TV episode of any show ever.
really? It was awesome, but really?

OK, since it's between episodes and the thread has deteriorated, let me throw this out there.

I never watched the show until this past off season, when I caught up on seasons 1-4 all at once. I've also watched every new episode this season so far.

Great show, a lot of fun, outstanding acting and directing.

It's suspenseful, no doubt about it.

But even the most suspenseful scenes/episodes of the series aren't even in the same ballpark with the suspense level of Battlestar Galactica when it was at it's best. Not even close imo.

Who is the idiot Englishman that scheduled "copper" against bb? Judging by the previews, the BB and Hell on Wheels set are exactly who you should be targeting.

hyperbole, #####!

people know what some show called Copper is on a British channel but haven't seen an all-time great show about football that aired on NBC?

shameful.

Battlestar Galactica < Buck Rogers
The only problem with this assertion is Battlestar Galactica invented the cliffhanger.
Buck Rogers invented cliffs.
That was Chuck Norris, not Buck Rogers. And I think it was roundhouse kicks to the face.
Yea but even Chuck hasn't seen a million faces . . .AND ROCKED THEM ALL!!!!

Can someone do some analysis on who was in this thread for the first 4 seasons and then seperate that from who came in during the 5th? This thread was perfectly fine until this season...specifically the "post spoilers for the previews" and the "friday night lights" crowd.

jesus christ

I was at the supermarket today and I bought a huge bag of tater tots. Been dreaming of them since the episode at Madrigal.

I have no Franch or Cajun Kick-Ass dressing, so I'll be dipping them in ketchup for now.

Will post updates as needed.

I've seen neither, nor Battlestar. So I should have FNL in my queue?
I haven't seen FNL either, but Battlestar was amazing during its run. Highly recommend it, unless you despise SciFi altogether. One other thing that may or may not make a difference... Battlestar ran while we were most deeply concerned about terrorist attacks, deeply embroiled in Iraq, and highly polarized. Granted some of those issues haven't changed much, but it shows up all over the place in the writing for Galactica. They did a really nice job of using real world concerns, problems, political, religious, social issues we face in our collective psyche and subtly/smartly playing upon them in a fictional scifi story that is well acted/written/high production values/etc.
