Yeah, I can't believe mike didn't anticipate Walter creating a welding torch and risk massive burns and electrocution to get free. He is a senior citizen though, so give grandpa a break.is it believable that mike would be that sloppy when restraining Walt? Weak writing IMO in an otherwise solid episode
In mikes defense he DOES have a lot on his mind right nowGood catchWould be sloppy writing except they said earlier in the episode that even a professional eventually makes a mistake.is it believable that mike would be that sloppy when restraining Walt? Weak writing IMO in an otherwise solid episode
DID YOU MISS THE FLASH-FORWARD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, SIMPLETON???Am I the only person who is openly rooting for Walt to die? I was ready for Mike to kill him tonight
Why do you care? From the all time high last week with the great train heist to one of the dumbest last 5 minutes of this show ever.
Seriously? A plastic handcuff with a chemist who has a propensity to wiggle out of situations? Am I the only person who is openly rooting for Walt to die? I was ready for Mike to kill him tonight, how come Jesse and Mike don't just kill Walter? It would be perfect, Skyler would never miss him.
The whole story of why he wouldn't cash in for $5m and they all go their separate ways...thru 4 seasons you kind of were rooting for Walt and you could understand what pushed him...but now he is like the Green Goblin in Spiderman, he's possessed, he's outta control, he wants to "Build an Empire"
But the end of that show...Mike suddenly has to run an errand and leaves Walt alone with the meth? No show is perfect but I found the episode tonight to be really dumb at the end. he's a freakin chemistry teacher, Heisenberg is an imagination. But he is like a wild animal that has killed now and has a taste for blood.
2 more weeks to be held hostage for another 6-8 months, great.
Are we talking about Denny's? I assume we won't get to that until the end of the 2nd season 5.DID YOU MISS THE FLASH-FORWARD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, SIMPLETON???Am I the only person who is openly rooting for Walt to die? I was ready for Mike to kill him tonight
Had the same thought at the whistling scene.Jessie is going to kill Walt. Book it.
Last 5-10 minutes of the show tonight, was that good stuff to you? Seemed very forced and a lot of characters suddenly out of character. Jesse was all out, suddenly he is begging Mike to listen to Walt...I didn't care for it, but that said last week was perhaps the greatest 60 minutes of television I have ever watched. I was cheering and cussing when that train was stopped the entire time. I loved it, one of the best shows ever...jesse having to duck under the train onto the train tracks, just awesome.Of course I love the show, wouldn't post if it didn't thrill me, just don't like the way things ended tonight and I want to see Walter get his ### kicked again. Walt also is getting arrogant and cocky almost threatening folks to try and kill him.Why do you care? From the all time high last week with the great train heist to one of the dumbest last 5 minutes of this show ever.

Agree, and eventually he is going to find out or figure out everything Walter has done to him.Had the same thought at the whistling scene.Jessie is going to kill Walt. Book it.
Fair.I think Mike in large doses gets tiresome. The "I checked him out", been around the block routine gets old after awhile. The Mike, Jesse, Walt dynamic is getting a little stale. Need some interesting characters to break it up.
Not at all. I hope he gets killed and absolutely hate his character. Love watching him though.Am I the only person who is openly rooting for Walt to die?
It wasn't an errand. It was throwing the DEA off his back long enough to do the deal. From the all time high last week with the great train heist to one of the dumbest last 5 minutes of this show ever. Seriously? yes, i liked the whole show, even the last 5 minutes. If things go too slow people complain...if things go too fast people say its rushed. I like the pace as its setting things up for the last 8 weeks next summer. I think its fascinating to watch walts self destructing downfall...the fact that he was just a sick science teacher and now hes gone off the deep end is whats makes that awesome. Him whistling while gowning up right after he said how upset he was over the kid getting shot shows us how far gone he really is.Last 5-10 minutes of the show tonight, was that good stuff to you? one of the best dinner scenes in tv history hahaYo... What ever happened to truth in advertisingHe killed.
It's like you are forced to keep him around but you really don't want to. I also don't buy that he is so burned over the business deal 20+ years ago that he is above settling for $5m...that would be plenty for him and everyone to get lost and never work another day in their life. He doesn't want that. he wants to get up everyday and have something to do. He thinks it's fun to go to work and pretend it's a 9-5 job. Delusional beyond anything I have ever seen on television. Not at all. I hope he gets killed and absolutely hate his character. Love watching him though.Am I the only person who is openly rooting for Walt to die?
The look on Jesse's face as he is trying to really enjoy that glass of water was priceless. That dinner scene had to be fun to shoot.
He's not after the money. He's no longer pretending this is a 9-5 type job and hasn't since last season. 5 million or 50 million, I think it would make little difference. He wants to be a badass drug kingpin and rule the world. He pretty much said as much to Jesse at dinner. It's like you are forced to keep him around but you really don't want to. You're right but why? Why does he think this way? It's not sustainable. He's not after the money. You dont get it. He was conning jesse , just like he did about the GF , saying things in such a way that jesse starts thinking and ends up doing what walt wanted him to do. Hes been manipulating jesse like that for some time now, its so easy for mr.white to play jesse. Im sure there isnt any company that walt was part of that is earning billions lol; It's like you are forced to keep him around but you really don't want to. Looked to me like Skyler had an oversized goblet for her wine. That was no ordinary wine glass. Think looked just a touch smaller than a goldfish bowl.Jesse was great just chugging the water after the affair line. Surprised it didn't start dribbling out of the corners of his mouth, he really tilted that thing back. That dinner scene had to be fun to shoot.
my GF has a glass that big...i cringe when she says shes just having a glass or 2 of wine hahaLooked to me like Skyler had an oversized goblet for her wine. That was no ordinary wine glass. It's just the way he's wired. People aren't always logical. Maybe he's overcompensating for a lifetime of being a cowardly wallflower. Maybe he's just an egotistical ####### and finally broke out of his shell. The why doesn't really concern me at this point in the show. They spent the first few seasons dealing with the why. He is what he is and he's not changing back for the better. If anything, he's getting a lot worse.You're right but why? Why does he think this way? It's not sustainable.He's not after the money. Shtick? Walt is definitely manipulating Jesse but while I don't know exactly how much Grey Matter is worth, they've made it very clear it's worth a LOT of money.You dont get it. This is the first time a "billion" has been mentioned re: Grey Matter, but they certainly have millions at least.From Walt's contentious lunch with Gretchen:Hes been manipulating jesse like that for some time now, its so easy for mr.white to play jesse. Im sure there isnt any company that walt was part of that is earning billions lol;
Walt, alone with Gretchen, pleads with her not to reveal the truth but won't explain any of his actions. Waving her checkbook around won't make him forget how she and Elliott "cut me out" and made millions off his research, Walt says. Gretchen reminds Walt that he was the one who left her without explanation, abandoning both her and Elliott. "Little rich girl, just adding to your millions," Walt retorts.
"I feel so sorry for you, Walt," Gretchen finally says.
"F___ you," he responds.
For sureIf anything, he's getting a lot worse.
It was a glass made for big reds, not whites. You're not supposed to fill it.Yeah this show hasn't had much awkward tension, so we were do. yes you are right, forgot all about that...doh'Raider Nation said:He actually did, bro. The difference tonight is Walt was not playing a game. That is the reason, he resents Gray Matter after all these years. Thats's the rub. Jesse is asking him are we in the meth business or the money business? As an audience member I was always on board because I thought they were simply in it for the money but pissing on $5m the way Walt did tonight...Jesse was the audience talking to Walt tonight, trying to talk some sense into him, the lights are on and no one is home now. Just take the money and end it...there just is no reason. Jesse said "Did you ever think we would have $5m?" he even recites the original amount Walter wanted or needed. You dont get it. He was conning jesse , just like he did about the GF , saying things in such a way that jesse starts thinking and ends up doing what walt wanted him to do. Like I said before, at the beginning of the season I didn't "get" why Walt wouldn't take a clean break when the opportunity presented itself. Especially after he seemed able to accept that he might have to by calling the vacuum cleaner repair man. But after the discussion with Jesse, Walt's actions make sense. The guy has been obsessing ("I check the value of the company every week") for a decade, or more, about his $700 million share of Grey Matter (2.1b split 3 ways). He feels totally screwed about the road not taken and he's going to go full Ahab until he's "square" with what life owes him, which, of course, will never feel like enough. It's just the way he's wired. People aren't always logical. Maybe he's overcompensating for a lifetime of being a cowardly wallflower. Maybe he's just an egotistical ####### and finally broke out of his shell. I think it is another scene to demonstrate the irony that Jesse has somehow now become the sane one.It was a glass made for big reds, not whites. That's pretty good but also really sad on Walt's part. I guess he doesn't have much to live for but Skyler wanting to end their marriage should be a blessing, somehow its not. You have it exactly right, I guess just most of us would likely opt for the $5m and getting out pretty much free and clear.[Like I said before, at the beginning of the season I didn't "get" why Walt wouldn't take a clean break when the opportunity presented itself. I agree, that's why I said another. It's a reoccurring theme. I think they need to break that up a bit. I think the show's main thesis is that we all have a villain in us if given the right circumstances. Those circumstances may be everyday modern life.Has any show ever so successfully turned a sympathetic sap like Walt in to a despicable villain. ?
It's an interesting question though. Chris Moltisanti came to mind right away. He fits the sap-turned-villain label, though I'm not sure if sympathetic ever applied. And he was always basically a crook, so yeah... never mind.I'll keep working on it.I think the show's main thesis is that we all have a villain in us if given the right circumstances.
