all seriousness, NJ (by way of NYC) prob has better facilities since many top docs flock to NYC to make a zillion dollars per stitchIf he goes home, we may never see him in the NFL again. The rehab for an injury this severe is hard enough for players dedicated to their profession. A knucklehead like Britt doesn't appear to have the drive or mental make-up to endure what lies ahead. As an owner in all 5 leagues, it sucks, but that is the risk we take when we roster players like Britt.I hope for his sake he stays in Tenn and focuses on his rehab.Hopefully he stays in TEN to rehab and doesn't head home to NJ.![]()
For the next several months, the battle will be mental, not physical. Welker's a tough dude mentally. If anybody can come back from this type of injury, it's Welker. Not so sure about Britt.welker tore both his acl and mcl. really, the mcl is trivial. i would guess its worse to rip the meniscus+acl, which is known as the terrible triad and is fairly common. It's too early to toss the towel in on him forever, but yeah, it isn't good news for his dynasty prospects. If in fact he has a double tear, that complicates things. I have heard of guys coming back from dual tears (McGahee?) but it complicates it. I recall that Daunte Culpepper had multiple tears in his knee and he never recovered. If he goes home, we may never see him in the NFL again. quick look up shows i was indeed wrong, maybe i can plead misinformed, not that it will help.Terrible Triad = ACL, MCL, and meniscus, not just ACL and meniscus. The PCL is usually involved as well.welker tore both his acl and mcl. really, the mcl is trivial. i would guess its worse to rip the meniscus+acl, which is known as the terrible triad and is fairly common. It's too early to toss the towel in on him forever, but yeah, it isn't good news for his dynasty prospects. If those conditions are met AND he isn't suspended by the NFL for past/future transgressions, there's a high probability he'll be ready for opening week 2012. As you said, those are some big conditions. I don't study the guy, but hearsay has it he's got a ten cent noggin. So if it is both (ACL/MCL)
and he rehabs religiously (not likely)
is there any reason that he shouldn't be ready for next year (outside of being in jail)?
How bad is this?
someone name me a player who worked to get in the NFL and then decided rehab was too tough.
lol, you know what kind of rehab i meantsomeone name me a player who worked to get in the NFL and then decided rehab was too tough.
Yeah... I'm thinking second opinions or something. The type of stuff that keeps you from just out right dropping him while he hogs a roster spot all season!Odd that there's no news yet. The news on J. Charles came out rather quickly if I remember correctly. The optimist in me has me thinking that they're in the process of crafting a message. Maybe it's not so straightforward and he's out, but not for the season, but in a range that's hard to quantify right now.

I'm not sure that Washington should get a big bump. He's not on the same planet as Britt in terms of talent. Putting him in the # 1 role may get him a few more targets but it may also put him against the opposing team's top cornerback. Unfortunately he's not a legitimate # 1 wr. I think you pretty much downgrade the entire Tenn offense. With that said, I'm a Britt owner who's trying to get Washington so I hope you're right.Tough break for Britt. He was having a monster year.Moving on. Is there a Titan WR that can step into his spot and produce? Washington gets a big bump but someone else has to start on the opposite side.
Titans are working out Buster Davis and Donnie Avery tomorrow. Justin Gage has been mentioned as well. Local talk is that Washington will get a big bump. I would think Damian Williams would benefit a lot. However, I would think we all find more productive options elsewhere on the WW.Just dropped KB for Tampa defense for this week.I'm not sure that Washington should get a big bump. I'm sneakily talking him up in my remorse for his injury, trying to use this opportunity to say "damn, I really needed him this year, guy's a top-10 dynasty WR, sucks I have to wait till next year now to plug-and-forget him into my lineup :( "Hoping some rebuilding team will jump with a nice offer that can help me win this year, and give me just as good of a play at WR in the future. We'll see. What are Britt dynasty owners doing with him? He has all world talent, so are you putting him on IR and riding out the storm, or will you try to deal to a rebuilding team for a player who can help you now?
I had him last year and thought that when Britt went out that he would benefit. This is what happened.Wk10 vs Miami 9 targets 3 for 26 1TDWk11 vs Wash 9 targets 5 for 117 0TDWk12 vs HOU 4 targets 1 for 10 0TDWk13 vs JAX 6 targets 3 for 40 0TDHe's just not a WR 1. I think this actually hurts his value a lot. Having Britt on the other side taking out the #1 CB and possibly a safety was a big help to him. I have a policy of not drafting players coming off reconstructive knee surgeries. I wouldn't touch him next year. 2013 maybe.Where would you rank him for next year?I'm in a $100 auction keeper league, and have been offered Britt ($11) for either Beanie ($13), Julio ($8), or MWilliams-TB ($7).
I believe he's more talented than all 3. If I were rebuilding I'd consider dealing any of them for britt. If I'm trying to win now I don't deal for him unless I have considerable depth.Where would you rank him for next year?I'm in a $100 auction keeper league, and have been offered Britt ($11) for either Beanie ($13), Julio ($8), or MWilliams-TB ($7).
Not a bad policy. It is certainly a major concern. Welker is an exception. The caveat here is that it happened so early in the year.I have a policy of not drafting players coming off reconstructive knee surgeries.
