BUF DEF a pretender? Some Waiver Wire DEF posting better numbers... (1 Viewer)

Just was looking thru and noticing that DEF like ARI, NYJ, IND, CAR ahead of BUF (average points/week).

Anyone thinking that BUF put up points based on a weak opening schedule? Jax did not play well against them and ARI lit them up...

weeks 1-5: SEA, @JAC. OAK. @STL, @ARI

Think that ARI, NYJ, IND, or CAR would be a better DEF moving forward?

Carolina yes. Zona, quite possibly, but this is the same team that got 56 hung up on them 2 weeks ago. Their pass russ looked intriguing against the boys, don't know if that was Cowboy incompetience or Zona being jacked up.I'd still favor them over the Jets and Colts though.

Buffalo's D is a good complement to another D in a committee approach, but I wouldn't go with them alone the rest of the way. They still have some solid matchups coming up (home against Cleveland, at KC and home against San Francisco) weeks 11-13.

I have Jets and Bills and it looks like this:

7. Jets @ Oak

8. Jets v. KC

9. Jets @ Buffalo

10. Jets v. StL

11. Buf v. Cle

12. Buf @ KC

13. Buf v. SF

14. Buf v. Mia or Jets @ SF not sure here, but probably Jets. Normally I'd go Buffalo at home, but they're playing this indoors in Toronto

15. Jets v. Buf

16. Jets @ Sea

Just as an FYI, McGee (their best CB) missed a lot of the St. Louis game and was out for the Arizona game. Stroud and Schobel were both playing injured against Arizona, so Buffalo was missing their two best defensive linemen and best CB. Robert Parrish has also been out for several games so Buffalo's special teams has been hurt quite a bit with the loss of McGee and Parrish in the return game.

I'm not saying that everything is magically going to get better or that Buffalo's defense doesn't have some problems, but I think that it does help explain things like why Buffalo couldn't even get one sack against Warner.

ETA: I forgot that Ko Simpson, the starting safety, also got hurt and missed most of the Arizona game.
