6.12 - Cincinnati Bengals select Arian Foster, RB

He's younger than ADP, has way less miles, and has outproduced him over the last 3 seasons. I like his chances as an elite runningback over the next 3-5 seasons.

1.12 QB Matt Ryan 27

2.21 LT Ryan Clady 27

3.21 WR Michael Crabtree 26

4.12 DL Corey Liuget 23

5.21 DE Carlos Dunlap 24

6.12 RB Arian Foster 27
I like how you list ages. Your team is young but looking at my second team...Richard Serhman 24

Calais Campbell 26

Marcell Dareus, 23

Brandon Graham, 24

Jared Veldheer, 25

Average age of 24.4.

6.13 Pats select RT Mitchell Schwartz

Eli Manning

Jimmy Graham

Justin Houston

Bruce Irvin

DBRICKASHAW Ferguson

Mitchell Schwartz

You and talented in pass blocking - which will be our offensive focus - I believe he will continue his high level of play from last year.

So what do you guys think of the Foster pick? Consideering that this is an FF messageboard and the runners selected before him, I was really shocked that he slid this far.

Maybe some people think it's partially scheme. You have Clady though as your LT who is more suited for a ZBS. Ryan thrives on a good ground game and the playaction game. It's a good fit for your team and he definitely deserves to be taken ahead of Alfred Morris. Foster is a true workhorse and a solid pick. If it were me, I'd probably have taken a different position though.

So....apparently Geno Smith had a great pro day

"Most impressive in the workout was his downfield touch and accuracy, zip on the move and balance throughout his compact release."

I understand most don't feel runningbacks should be taken this high in this format. I think there are a few that should be though. There are only a handful of guys who can handle a large workload and contribute both in the run and pass games. Foster had kind of a down year in 2012 with only 1641 total yards and 17 touchdowns.

I don't think a pro day workout will change a person's mind either way.
Probably not, but until the draft there's really no other data points we can use. His college production and combine were excellent as well. It's a trend. When all is said and done I believe he'll be selected 1st or 2nd in the NFL draft, either to the Jaguars or a team that trades up for him.

I'll have this site open during the day and will refresh often, so text messages shouldn't be necessary. The only time I'd need a text would be if I'm in a meeting at work, in which case I wouldn't be available at the moment anyway. So if you don't mind, I'll pass on the cell phone and text message idea. If that is a problem, just let me know. Thanks for organizing this!

Good pick at this point. I love watching Foster but I just wonder a little about the declining ypc the last couple of years.Eta: actually not as bad as I thought. Thought he was in the high 3s last year.

I think we have a dedicated group who will see this thing through. Hopefully everyone stays interested, I know we are only 6 rounds into this, but I think we have yet to hit the exciting part.

I like this being stretched out.

If we run into a few more hold ups in the draft, I will put in a timer. I just don't want to run into the problem where like 3 or 4 people are skipped and not picking until night.

Not to butt in on a draft I'm not a part of, but are there any posts which have a recap of the draft thus far? I'm very interested to see, for instance, how many QBs went in the first 50 picks or so.

Butting in welcome. There is a google doc linked to in the second post of the thread.

Apologies. Saw the text but it came at the worst possible time. I was caught in the middle of things.

6.15 Cardinals select Jason Peters, LT

Couldn't wait any longer to start with the offense. Peters carries some risk since he is coming off injury, but two years ago he was the best LT in football. He's had an entire season to recover and it seems that players are returning from serious injuries more easily all the time, so I'm confident that he'll regain most of his pre-injury form.

1.15 Geno Atkins

2.18 Muhammad Wilkerson

3.18 Daryl Washington

4.15 Ryan Kerrigan

5.18 Brandon Carr

6.15 Jason Peters

That's a steal if he can regain his form after his injury.

It's risky but the remaining left tackles have a lot of risk associated with them also or are simply not good.

6.16 Redskins select Paul Posluszny.

There's only two MLB's left that I really would want. I fear that I wouldn't get him next round...could be wrong, but Puz is a tackling machine.
