Build a FRANCHISE draft (1 Viewer)

6.19 LB Desmond Bishop

Need a captain in the middle here. Smith and Brockers should be able to keep him fairly clean.

Next 5

20.Bucs Bamac

21.Chargers WuBanger

22.Browns ExaltedOne

23.Falcons HellToupee

24.Dolphins Whoosah

6.22 Cleveland Browns select Reshad Jones, S

This team will probably be in some high-scoring games, so to kick off my defense I wanted a guy who could really help with pass defense. PFF rates Jones as the 3rd best safety in the league last year (behind Weddle and Byrd). When QBs threw into his coverage they had an abysmal 38.0 QB rating.

1.22 WR A.J. Green 24

2.11 WR Demaryius Thomas 25

3.11 HB C.J. Spiller 26

4.22 QB Geno Smith 22

5.11 LT William Beatty 28

6.22 S Reshad Jones 25

Would have taken him if I didn't have Thomas, good pick

I guess I'll take this time to recap my draft thus far.

1.13 Eli Manning QB

2.20 Jimmy Graham TE

3.20 Justin Houston OLB

4.13 Bruce Irvin OLB

5.20 D'Brickashaw Ferguson LT

6.13 Mitchell Schwartz RT

I wanted to grab a capable quarterback and a player who could create a mismatch early. Eli/Graham

I want the offense to be focused around the pass, potentially mimicking a New Orleans offense,

I'm assuming the team will run a 3-4 since Houston is a 3-4 OLB and Irvin was projected as a 3-4 OLB, although he's playing DE now for the Seahawks. I also think his speed would be better utilized as a 3-4 OLB

As a few people pointed out, the edge rushers aren't highly ranked in run defense, but I want a defense that will keep from giving up the big passing play. The plan is to grab some huge bodies up front later on in the draft to hopefully take on double teams and stop the run. A good MLB would also help, but they are starting to run low.

I'm guessing we'll end up playing a lot of Cover 4 to make sure we don't get beat deep depending on the dbacks that are available later in the draft.

The elite wide receivers are also gone at this point, but I believe my elite pass catching player is Graham and we can get by with a subpar WR1 in this offense.

This is probably embarrassing, but I play in very deep IDP leagues and I've never heard of this guy. I honestly don't think he's as good as PFF makes him out to be. It's like when they say Jason Avant is the 20th best WR in the NFL.

He's 25, had 4 ints, 74 solo tackles (95 total) a sack, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries. He's not a tackle machine like some other guys but he had a breakout year and he's a stud in coverage.

Also I don't follow their rankings that closely (or else I'd have drafted DT or Crabtree before AJ Green) but Avant DID catch 74% of the passes thrown to him, and didn't drop a single pass. He also got bonus points for blocking.

:lmao: And don't take this as a knock on your pick, but you realize Jones is not even close to the third best safety in football right? Fine pick at this point though.

PFF grades Kolb the same as Flacco. :lmao: Take PFF rankings with a grain of salt. They have their use but they can be misleading.
Their QB ratings were pretty much the same in 2012...Remember that PFF rates people on a per snap basis AND it only counts a single regular season. Most people thought Flacco sucked last season before the playoffs, and Kolb was performing OK before he got hurt.PFF is not a dynasty ranking system, it's a seasonal stats analysis tool.

FWIW PFF rates Flacco #22 for the 2012 regular season, which is pretty much on par for his struggles.

However, in the postseason, he was #2, just barely behind Matt Ryan.

Combined he was #13.

Now how do you throw 12 tds with no picks and finish 2nd?

Exalted, since it looks like I won't pick tonight and I'm near the top of the queue, can I send you a list of some players for my pick early tomorrow? I have a feeling I might not be available bright and early tomorrow morning and if I'm on the clock early, I don't want to make everybody wait. You don't pick again until after my second pick.
