22.12 Cincinnati Bengals select Brad Jones, ILB

With 3 rookie linebackers, I wanted to add a guy who can provide some experience and leadership in the middle. Coaches have praised Brad's work ethic and moral compass, and he proved himself by going from special teams/backup OLB to starting 3-down inside linebacker in one season. I had to check a few times to make sure he was still around since PFF rated him #10 at the position.

I really like how my starting lineup turned out:

Offense
1.12 QB Matt Ryan
6.12 RB Arian Foster
3.21 WR Michael Crabtree
18.12 WR Golden Tate
21.21 WR Robert Woods
11.21 TE Greg Olsen
2.21 LT Ryan Clady
8.12 LG Andy Levitre
20.12 C Ryan Lilja
12.12 RG Zane Beadles
16.12 RT Terron Armstead

Defense
4.12 DL Corey Liuget
5.21 DL Carlos Dunlap
15.21 DT Dan Williams
7.21 DE/OLB Dion Jordan
9.21 DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo
14.12 LB Arthur Brown
22.12 LB Brad Jones
10.12 CB Vontae Davis
19.21 CB Robert McClain
13.21 FS Stevie Brown
17.21 SS Major Wright

22.13 New England Patriots select Jacob Tamme, TE

Not the flashiest pick, but I really like how Stevie Johnson, Jimmy Graham, and Desean Jackson can open up the underneath routes for Tamme. I'm surprised he's still on the board as there have been over 30 selected thus far.

New England Patriots

Quarterback Eli Manning

Running Back Darren Sproles, Michael Bush

Wide Receiver Stevie Johnson, Desean Jackson

Tight End Jimmy Graham, Jacob Tamme

Left Tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson

Left Guard Donald Thomas

Center

Right Guard Manual Ramirez

Right Tackle Mitchell Schwartz

Left End Ricky Jean-Francois

Nose Tackle Isaac Sopoaga

Right End Jesse Williams

Outside Linebacker Justin Houston, Bruce Irvin

Inside Linebacker Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher

Cornerback Asante Samuel, Corey Webster

Safety Bernard Pollard, Quintin Mikell

22.15 Cardinals select DeAngelo Williams, RB

I would have really liked to see what he could have done in a feature role, but Williams has performed extremely well with his opportunities. He's a little older than I'd like, but he should have a couple more good years left in him at least. There have been some (legitimate) concerns about his motivation, but I think much of that has to do with not being a feature back. I think he can be a true three-down back with his all-around skill set.

20.15 Matt Flynn QB

22.15 DeAngelo Williams RB

10.15 Cecil Shorts WR
11.18 Keenan Allen WR
17.18 Malcom Floyd WR
21.18 Andrew Hawkins WR
15.18 Heath Miller TE

6.15 Jason Peters LT
18.15 T.J. Lang LG
9.18 Brian de La Puente C
14.15 Larry Warford RG
7.18 Rodger Saffold RT

1.15 Geno Atkins RE
8.15 Star Lotulelei NT
2.18 Muhammad Wilkerson LE
16.15 Mike DeVito DE/NT

4.15 Ryan Kerrigan LOLB
3.18 Daryl Washington SILB

5.18 Brandon Carr CB
12.15 Thomas DeCoud FS
13.18 Reggie Nelson SS
19.18 Jabari Greer CB

I'm not sure if anyone else is doing this, if so please say so before I waste time doing so...but I am currently going to work on getting the players switched in Madden and then will sim a season or 2.

How will you evaluate the rookies?
The only thing I can do is create the top maybe 20 guys and do it that way. I will give them stats similar to what other rookies at their position are. Its super difficult but I will try.

And btw if anyone wants to help me do this I could use an assist by someone creating an excel sheet like so:

Columns - Teams in Alphabetical Order

Rows - Players by position QB HB FB WR TE LT LG C RG RT LE RE DT LOLB MLB ROLB CB FS SS K P

That would take probably a days worth of work out of it.

A lot of this is already done in the google doc. Are you not able to use that? Not all the teams are there but I could complete them sometime.

Regarding Madden - that is one way to evaluate the teams but I think a severely, severely flawed way. It's better than nothing though.
Otherwise it's voting for now. We really won't know for a few years. I like liking back at our old draft, gives some food for thought.

As far as the excel sheet yes I can use the existing one but its a lot easier if its organized in that manner. That way I can go down team by team for each position. I mean if no one can do that thats fine. Its jus saves me a long step. Also I will import these into dynasty mode and do a few years.

I think voting is much better than Madden honestly. Madden disregards so much that human voters would at least be able to consider and factor into their vote.

One thing I could suggest is maybe reaching out to Matt Waldman and asking if he would be willing to get together a group (possibly even from the people he is drafting with) to grade our teams. As he is doing the same thing right now, maybe he would be receptive to the request?

I think Waldman himself lost interest. He hasn't updated his team page since round 7 and they are in round 10.

Bucs, 22.20: JACOBY FORD, WR

Slot receiver / return man. The Bucs will hire the best medical staff in the league. They will make more than the coaching staff.

CHARGERS SELECT

22.21 - Brent Celek , TE

Solid as both a reciever and blocker..... happy to land him at this point as I saw a number of lesser TE's drafted before him... (in my opinion )

22.22 Cleveland Browns select Stedman Bailey, WR

I couldn't wait any longer to take this guy. Stedman Bailey has been Geno Smith's best friend and favorite target since high school (Bailey actually transferred to Smith's school to play with him after becoming friends with him in church). In 2012 they hooked up for 1622 yards and 25 TDs. This gives Smith a target that he is already familiar with to help his transition. Bailey will do well in the slot on this team, as he'll likely face one-on-one or no coverage on most plays due to the other weapons around him.

My only concern is that the other receivers may not get the ball as much as they'd like.

Offense
4.22 QB Geno Smith
3.11 HB C.J. Spiller
13.11 FB Marcel Reece
1.22 WR A.J. Green
2.11 WR Demaryius Thomas
22.22 WR Stedman Bailey
14.22 TE Tony Gonzalez
5.11 LT William Beatty
12.22 LG Rob Sims
8.22 OC John Sullivan
11.11 RG Louis Vasquez
7.11 RT Gosder Cherilus

Defense
15.11 DE Brian Robison
16.22 DE Osi Umenyiora
19.11 DE Datone Jones
17.11 DT Kevin Williams
18.22 MLB Kevin Minter
21.11 ROLB Khaseem Greene
10.22 CB Derek Cox
20.22 CB Captain Munnerlyn
6.22 FS Reshad Jones
9.11 SS Troy Polamalu

22.23 Julian Edelman WR Falcons

I like Edelmans game , he just needs to stay healthy. Good slot guy but can pkay outside & is a hell of a special teams guy. One might even say great ST player

22.24 - Dolphins select - Roy Miller, DTOnly 25, Roy Miller proved he can be a solid run stuffer. Has shown improvements on the pass rush, but I believe he can get better and at only age 25, he has the potential to be a promising starting tackle. With Quinn and Sheard rushing on the outside, Miller fits well in my defense to stop the run.

Offense

21.09 - Nick Foles, QB

17.09 - Vick Ballard, RB

20.24 - Robert Turbin, RB

3.09 - Randall Cobb, WR

10.09 - Jeremy Maclin, WR

19.09 - Brian Quick, WR

16.24 - Rob Housler, TE

2.09 - Russell Okung, LT6.24 - Josh Sitton, OG8.24 - Stefen Wisniewski, C12.24 - John Greco, OG14.24 - Chris Hairston, RT

Defense:

4.24 - Robert Quinn, DE

18.24 - Sammie Lee Hill, DL

22.24 - Roy Miller, DL

7.09 - Jabaal Sheard, DL

1.24 - Navorro Bowman, LB

11.09 - Colin McCarthy, LB

5.09 - Charles Tillman, DB

15.09 - Jimmy Smith, DB

9.09 - Morgan Burnett, FS

13.09 - Donte Whitner, SS

Can someone PM/text the next guy? thanks in advance!

If we reach out to anybody in the RSPWP group, I suggest contacting Bloom. He is really active on Twitter and in the past has been receptive to any Tweets I've sent him.

If the Waldman thing doesn't pan out, I see no problem with a vote. We could either try to gather a small group of respected members (like SSOG, Concept Coop, EBF to name a few off the top of my head) or just create a topic and have whomever wants to vote have a say. It would also probably be a good idea to have a separate vote for the team with the best short-term outlook and the one with the best long-term outlook.

With the 22.27 pick, The Colts select G/T Alvin Bailey

Stellar season in 2011, trailed off a bit in 2012 along with the rest of his Arkansas team, but was still the best player on their O-line.

Great performance at the combine puts him back on the radar for the NFL draft. He will play RG for my team.
