An ounce here a half an ounce there.
We are supposed to not notice you are getting less per package.

Oh for the days when the standard weight for potato chips was the pound bag and for ice cream you got a half gallon.
Saltine crackers is the latest. They apparently couldn't even sync it up to their cardboard boxes. So it makes it even easier to tell. Like 8 fewer crackers per sleeve.

Yes, I'm old.

It's been talked about before. Dogs being labeled service dogs when they are not.

I feel for anyone that needs one, and I wouldn't be surprised if the older lady in Wawa today needs a service dog.

But don't dress it up in a outfit (flannel shirt and jean pants) and slap a service dog harness on it

She was very nice lady though :)

Maybe the dog was dressing for the job it wants?

Local library has a huge parking lot. Always tons of spaces available. Close to the entrance they have a few “reserved” spaces. A few of them are expecting moms, carpool, and fuel efficient vehicles.

In the 5 fuel efficient spaces there are two giant pickup trucks, one minivan, one volvo, and one Camry. Maybe the Camry can be considered a fuel efficient vehicle but that’s probably a stretch. The other 4? GTFO with this. Go park in the regular lot

Never seen a fuel efficient parking space. Have seen the expecting mom and veterans spaces however. The fuel efficiency spaces are kind of dumb aren’t they?

Yeah seems dumb

This actually brings me joy when the biggest gas guzzling monsters are in the EV spots near the front. There’s a GTO that always takes one of these spots at my gym. Makes me chuckle

For some odd reason I didn't take his post as being charging spots for EV, but just parking spaces for fuel efficiency cars, but what you said was funny. It would make sense if they were charging stations.

Yea, hilarious when someone needs to charge their vehicle but can't.

Park in the correct spot?

I park in fuel efficient spaces all the time but Im not taking a charging spot. Thats a Richard move.
Ok, I'm confused. I thought all the fuel efficient spots were charging spots? If not, what constitutes a fuel efficient spot? Seems pretty subjective.

Around here:

There are spots for compact cars, fuel efficient cars, veterans handicapped and expectant mothers.

Then, they have charging stations which are obvious because they have giant charging stations next to them. Can’t miss them.

So are you saying all fuel efficient spots, that are not charging spots, are labeled as compact cars only? Because I also see the compact car spots. If this is the case, then the OP should have said that instead of “ fuel efficient “ spots. It confused me. Not all fuel efficient cars are compact cars.

It is not a compact car spot it is a fuel efficient vehicle spot. So yes there could be a giant EV or hybrid in that spot. There shouldn’t be a giant Chevy pickup though even if the concept of fuel efficient spots is somewhat ridiculous.

But either way it is nowhere the richard move that our buddy @DA RAIDERS finds so laughable. Imagine the outrage if an EV took up the only available gas pump to park their car while they went in to the station to drink some coffee and leisurely eat a donut

I’m not talking about charging spots. Just closer spots that are designated EV spots. F that
Thank you for clearing that up. In that case, seems elitiest to me.
It just seems dumb to me.
We know it's a government incentive to move towards EVs right? It's no smarter or dumber than a compact car spot or a handicapped spot or requiring a minimum parking amount per occupancy to begin with.

Government means the people in charge of the authority having jurisdiction. It's not one person, it's generally a group of people.

I have no idea where you got this from. Compact car spaces are, in my experience, spots that are too small for larger cars. Handicapped spots are necessary.

I try not to guess what people mean. It usually ends poorly for me.

Did you mean "whose"?

Resources needed for EV batteries makes us reliant on countries I don’t want to be reliant on. Not to mention the cost.

Unlike, say, oil for example.
We don’t produce the resources needed to make the batteries. We have oil.
Hmm, I seem to remember gas lines in the 70s. Oh, and war for oil.

Point is, things change. We only recently became oil independent. Battery independence will come as well.

Not if those resources to produce batteries aren’t in this country as a natural resource. Unless of course we take it.

But they are. We lack processing capacity.
Yes, the US produces lithium, but its current domestic supply is small and insufficient to meet demand, accounting for less than 1% of global production
Emphasis on current.
Emphasis on small supply. Yes you can purchase it, but that is reliance. You don’t supply more when it stands at 1%.

Australia is the largest producer of lithium. Chile is second.

I’ll give you that and Australia is US friendly most of the time, but less so recently I believe. Again, depending on another country. Do we want to do that by going completely to EV?

Australia has been less friendly?

The main issues between the U.S. and Australia currently revolve around
trade friction (US tariffs on some Australian goods, US pressure on Australia's China trade).

Nothing too serious.

Toilets in hotel rooms where the chain to the flap is just about the right length, but won’t fully let the flap stay shut without assistance. Thinking about giving them an invoice for my emergency repair work when I check out.
