the way mechanics hit you with the reverse "check's in the mail" when you call to check up on an appliance/machine they've had in their shop for weeks without any communication regarding when the fix will be done.
3 weeks here. called them up today: "oh, hey, this was at the top of my list. i was just about to call you."
