Can we discuss pet peeves here? (8 Viewers)

Ticket brokers need to go away.

That normal people struggle to get tickets to events...yet within minutes of the thing selling out there are tons of listings on the secondary market for ridiculous prices...it just flat out sucks.
This and pretty much the whole second hand market. Xboxs, PS5s, Jordans, trading cards, etc….

Or basketball players that need to touch hands with their teammates after every made or missed free-throw. What in tarnation is that?
I've said this one for years - along with baseball players who step out of the box, take the sign from third, then adjust each batting glove, remove and replace their helmet, adjust their cup, then grip bat, stare at their hands, big breath and exhale, then step one foot back in, 3 exact half swings, then other foot in, another 3 bat swings/points/circles, then they raise the bat and get "ready"..........and then they throw up their back hand to ask the home plate umpire for time out when the pitch isn't thrown within 3 seconds.

I blame Nomar Garciaparra. (wasn’t he the dude that adjusted his batting gloves 16 times to make sure they cut off all circulation to his fingers?)

I don't particularly like dogs but I don't know why this would be an issue.
Dogs sometimes jump on other people. Dogs sometimes jump at rabbits or chipmunks. Dogs on a leash can cause an issue. Dogs off a leash can cause an issue. Dogs that are dragging their leash can cause a problem.

When you are on rocky, narrow, steep trails it is a variable that people shouldn't have to deal with as you are going up and they are coming down and you have to squeeze past each other.

Dogs at Home Depot dumb.

Taking your dogs on a hike seems like a bizarre thing to complain about much less be annoyed.

Dogs suck on narrow trails. Most people suck too, but people with dogs really suck.

"Sorry about that" as their stupid dog jumps up on you while you are trying to squeeze by.

People with dogs are always supposed to yield the trail and they are supposed to put themselves between the dog and you. People with dogs yield the trail like 3% of the time and when they do they usually are the one away from you, not the dog.

And none of this even touches on the dog poop issues.

Ahhhhh, so you mean stupid owners with stupid dogs. That makes sense.

I didn’t even fathom that people would do that. My dog is very well trained and I if there aren’t other people around I do sometimes take her off the leash but she stays behind me and whenever we see another person I quickly put the leash back on and stand off the trail to let others pass.

I would never have her off the leash on a narrow trail.

those companies that snail mail you some random advertising bs...

but they disguise the envelope to look like it might possibly contain a check. In the hope that you might actually open it.

I'm on to your game, Applegate Insurance Mortgage Car Dealership Loan Consolidation

People sitting in the parking spaces at convenience stores scrolling on their phone while stuffing taquitos into their piehole.  Move along already...

Probably mentioned already, but mine is people wearing their damn jammies (including slippers) in public. The mall, strolling in the park, the bank, and so on.

For the love of God put some real clothes on!

:bag: I don't wear pajama pants ever but since covid hit I have run errands in my slippers :lmao:

This would make a good commercial. Walk around a mall offering free blue jeans to the pajama pants people.  "I notice you're not wearing pants".

I've decided that red lights don't apply to anyone making a right turn. It doesn't matter if I have the right of way with a  left turn arrow, it doesn't matter if the light is green as I approach an intersection, it doesn't even matter if there is no light at all. People are going to pull into traffic and trust that I will slow down or yield to their stupid ###-ery. Oh....and when they do pull that inconsiderate bs, just drive slow and don't worry that everyone behind them is doing everything they can to avoid a multi vehicle pile up. 😠

...and as always, green does not mean GO!

People that walk in an elevator right as the door opens without letting people on the elevator exit first. I mean cmon.
same people who get on the bus or subway as people are trying to exit.

eta: and I have no problem dropping a shoulder on them if they haven't moved after I say "excuse me, trying to get out".

Mine is NYC specific, but might be happening in other urban centers too...

since Covid, bike delivery guys- almost all on high powered electric bike that are heavy and fast af- have been back on the sidewalks with impunity. flying. an unknowing sidestep by me or my kids and one or all of us are getting seriously hurt by one of these ####ers.

I've also noticed a lot more cars saying #### it in regards to traffic laws at red lights. Lots of turns- left, right, U at the red (it's illegal to turn on red here in NYC) and occasional roll through straight.

:bag:   Guilty as charged.  Usually a morning donut, not taquitos, though.  I do hurry.

:bag:   Same.  Ran to the Smart & Final behind our house for a couple of items in my "comfy clothes" (basketball shorts & t-shirt) along with my slippers.  They don't look terrible and I just went with it.

If you are using some form of digital pay/app at the register for all that is ####### holy. Have the #### up on your phone before you get to the register.....@'#&#&#&##&$&$-

They are the more modern day versions of the nimrods that start looking for their checkbooks after everything is rung up.

I have another small one today.  When an actor/actress passes away and the headline is "Cheers actress passes away" and they literally had one 2 minute part on one episode, especially when they are in a ton of other "more meaningful stuff".

If it's any consolation these are the people most likely to step into an empty elevator shaft.
Sigh that is my wife. One time we were at a hotel in San Antonio, waiting to get on elevator, doors open and she darts forward and she walked right into Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin. Heads up my wife is an Aggie and likes football. I apologize to coach and he is cool about it. Wife and I get in elevator and start riding up. We are looking ahead at the doors and I ask her, you know that was right? Answer: not a clue but he sure was nice.

I did this once getting off the train at West 4th, and I heard a woman behind me murmur, 'nice....'

I gave her the mischievous smile nod, and man, made my whole day.

Been car shopping for the wife.  If I hear one more salesperson ask me what price point I'm looking for...

There's no such thing as a price point.  It's called "The Price".

Grounds for divorce imo. :D

day before a snowstorm, crowded gas pumps at Wawa, and over half of the cars are empty, taking up pump space, while the owners go inside for coffee and food..   please move you GD car before getting your panini

I know I've posted it here before (and maybe repeating posts will be someone else's pet peeve!), but it persists:  d00shes that play videos with the sound up while sitting and eating at a fast food joint.  Hey fella, you know they make things called earbuds or headphones that plug into the phone so the sound doesn't reverberate off the walls of the Wendy's you're at?!?!    This is an epidemic.  It pretty much happens every day I go and eat at a fast food place.   People have no common sense or concern for others around them.

The same numnuts that insist that their phone conversations need to be on speaker phone. Bad enough I have to hear their inane side of it, I also get the bonus hearing their somehow even lamer phone guest, all on a crap phone speaker.

I hate how people are always talking with each other out in public while I'm trying to have a conversation on my speaker phone. People these days are so rude.

Also yapping on their phone in the checkout at the store.  #*&^% hang-up until you exit the store.
