This is the first time I witnessed this, but it deserves an instant throat chop.
A girl walks up to the counter to check in to her appointment. The receptionist asks for her name. Response:. "L-O-R-I-D-E-V-A-L"
I would have given the receptionist a $100 if she said, "I'm sorry. We don't have an appointment for Lorid Eval.

I dont get it either but there are several places it does. I can only assume drivers are so busy checking their phones they dont notice or care what lane they stop in.

A blinking yellow traffic light doesn't mean stop....the blinking red does!!!!!
When a light goes out here one side will blink yellow the other red. Yet people blow through the red and people stop at the yellow, then it somehow turns into a 4way stop.

This is fine if you are actually moving past them at a decent rate (10-15 mph faster than the car you are passing). If you are passing at 2 mph faster guy you deserve to be cutoff by the car behind you.

Stupid drug commercials that tell you not to take drug x if you are allergic to drug x. Makes me sick to think that somebody probably won a lawsuit because they knew they were allergic to a drug, but took it anyway claiming they didnt know that was a problem.

This guy is KILLING me. Had a tree service by yesterday to do some spraying and to cut down a huge ash tree that was dead and is right next to the house.
My neighbor came over and asked them to help him move something. They obliged. I was picking up my son from practice so I wasnt home. I cant even imagine going and asking my neighbor's workers to help move something. He had ripped his mailbox out of the ground and needed help moving the big piece of concrete onto a trailer to haul it away.

Just to combine a few pet peeves into one story. I was leaving work the other night and there was a large person gawking at her cell phone and walking really slow through a pretty narrow walkway. She had a massive backpack on that was sticking out about a foot behind her. We get to the revolving door and she is spinning it super slow and just completely oblivious, still staring at her phone. I'm in the compartment right behind her and just taking it slow, trying to be somewhat courteous. A guy gets in the compartment behind me and lays into the door like he's doing P90x. The door slams the woman's backpack and just about spun her 180 degrees. She looked right at me like WTF. I was tempted to deflect and point to the dbag that turned the revolving door into a carnival ride, but I started to appreciate the passive aggressiveness of the move.

Why didn't you grow a pair and do the same thing as the guy behind you? I can't stand backpack person and flat out hate slow walker while looking at their phone person. Either of those two offenses deserves get hammered by the door IMO.

That was part of the reason I didn't correctly blame fast door guy. In hindsight I felt she had it comin'. Didn't mind falling on the grenade.

I generally will barge by with a "pardon me"... but feel like I should be giving these people the "pardon me" first, and then the barge when they don't comply. most people aren't doing this out of spite or ill-will... they're just lazy, thoughtless or stupid. or a combo of all three.

being reminded to NOT do outlandish, irrational things
"when you drop off the kids you don't have to be there until 7:30.. it's only 6:30 now so you can't leave yet.. the school is only 5 minutes away. and you can't just drop them off on the street and drive away without making sure they get inside first. it's late and dark. someone could kidnap them."

Your home life needs to be a sitcom.
not too late, or too early. definitely not during dinner time or during a game. certainly not on a Sunday. and i'll make sure it's not too long of a call in case someone else is trying to call you and call waiting is disabled on your phone & the person calling you is in a life or death situation that involves hundreds of people and you're their only hope.

Businesses that sub out contract work to folks who hire people from the front of Home Depot who then don't show up, leaving one guy doing a two or three man job, thereby resulting in him being in my house until 9 at night for three days instead of being done at lunch time on day two as promised by the business I paid FBG money too.

The use of the term hero. I understand what a hero is, but every time there is a tragedy there doesn't necessarily have to be a media created hero. Case in point, the LV hotel security guard and the lady pilot on SW Air. She landed the plane and did her job, does this make her a hero really?

It drives me nuts when I call a business, and the other person calls me by my first name. It's just not business professional. And I'm pretty sure that I didn't go to high school with these people.

I have a buddy who is a cop, he says one of the worst things about being a cop is the slow drivers. He'll be in his cruiser, just wanting to get somewhere, and the cars in front of him and all around him will go 5 under the limit.

I always assumed these were to alert cops/paramedics/first responders in the event of a wreck that there's someone inside the car that may not be able to free themselves or speak out.
Although it does make sense in today's society that someone would want to announce "my precious snowflake child is in this car, so be extra careful"...
You know, I never thought about that as a tool for responders. Since the beginning, I always assumed it was for the "look at me, I can spread my legs" angle.
I still can't believe that the sign was created over 30 years ago.

I always get behind a cop who is going 5-10 over the limit. I figure if he's cruising along at that speed, he's not on his way to a crime scene, and he's not going to pull people over for going the same speed. But no fn way am I going to go 5-10 over in front of a cop.

“People were tailgating me and cutting me off,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “For the first time, I felt like a parent feels when they have a kid in the car.”
The idea is that people will drive more safely around a vehicle they know has a baby in the backseat -- and what parent doesn't want to keep their baby safe? So Lerner invested his own money in the product and started up the company Safety 1st, which is now owned by the Canadian company Dorel Industries.
The signs, which are usually placed in the back window of a car, were an instant hit. USA Today reported that 10 million have been sold in the past 30 years.
Some emergency workers have found the caution signs to be useful for other reasons. In case of an accident, for example, this noticeable sign can alert emergency personnel that there is a child in the vehicle who might not be able to get themselves out, says Julie Townsend, the deputy chief executive of the UK road safety charity Brake.
