Most addresses refer to a street grid, though I have seen cul-de-sacs using their own system as in your case.

Our HOA prohibits parking on the street at night. It is broken all the time. Not a big deal if a car is parked on the street overnight. Literally zero effect on your neighbors.

However if you park two cars on the street every night please dont park them on opposite sides of the street across from each other.

Jesus christ, we live in a society here. It is uncanny how often I see the same biker at exactly this point in the AM. And of course they park the tesla on the wrong side of the road so it just adds to it when the tesla lights come on because it thinks i am going to hit it head on.

What if you park two full-sized trucks and a 15-20 foot boat on a trailer, on opposite side of the street, blocking two neighbors’ mailboxes?

Hook the boat up to my hitch, take the boat to a local marina, set it free...

The one part of the grid is in rural areas. But many Milwaukee suburbs use both parts of the grid as listed.

In all the years I've lived here, I could never hear the neighbors backing their gas-powered car out of the driveway unless I was out in the front yard. But now with their electric car, I hear them leaving every single time no matter where I am in my house or yard. Annoying electric whir and beep.

I get that it's a safety measure and all because otherwise it would be too quiet and potentially dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists, etc. But do they have to make it that much louder and more annoying than the old cars?

Speaking of house addresses reminded me of a peeve - my dyslexic mailman! I live at 302 Chapel Drive, and about once a week I have to go visit my neighbor at 203 Chapel Drive to swap mail.

I think this is the first time I've gone to a fast food joint and been given the Heisman-like "we don't participate in that" denial.

There really isn't a Wendy's that's super close to our house (it's like 10-12 minutes away) but I was going to be in the area yesterday as my mom's recovering from a surgery at a nearby hospital. Funds are tight in the nirad3 household right now and I'm saving cash for a dude's trip I'm goin on starting tomorrow...

ANYWAYS... thought I'd try Wendy's $5 "Biggie Bag" as I see it all over the place. I walk into this Wendy's and they have Biggie Bags, but they start at $8. $8!!! The one I got (double bacon cheeseburger, 4 spicy nuggets, tiny-azz fries and small drink) was $9. It wasn't really all that much of a value. For $5? Yeah, for sure. But at the $9 price point (before tax), I'd rather just spend a couple more bucks and get the Dave's double with medium fries/drink and forgo the nuggets.

Bah humbug.

My comment speaks more to light traffic at speed with large gaps.

So if there is a relatively drastic change, I want people behind me to be aware of it asap so they can adjust accordingly

Dude, how are you eating stuff? Chewing is a good thing.

But that is what the captain does, he shreds.

We also go through at least 3 gallons of milk a week. It is even the red cap whole milk. My boys need all the calories they can get.

Other peoples dogs

Was in home depot yesterday. Hipster has two puppies on leashes. Both dogs probably less than a year old. Guy goes to check out at the contractors entrance. Imagine two dogs on leashes around fork lifts moving in and out, guys with large carts with plywood, 2x4's, etc.

Ok on the parking thing. Good timing cause this seems to be happening a bit. My across the street neighbor seems to have increased his car count as of late. Maybe kids--I dunno and don't really care. But...since their driveway is generally full now, they have a habit of parking their extra car in front of my house. Not their house. They do it all the time. Meanwhile, the front of their house is vehicle free. Wife had to leave a note on one car asking that they do not block the mailbox, cause if you do, the mailman will just drive on by.

Other peoples dogs

our neighbor's dog barks like mad constantly when outside. mostly it seems to be like manic excitement that the dog can't control. she just loves everything and barks to tell the world.

the neighbor lady owner is a doormat and does nothing to train the dog out of this habit of barking for hours on end. apparently because, until recently, the barking was confined to outside and she couldn't hear it so she "didn't know" the dog barks non-stop all day long.

spoke with her yesterday and the dog has apparently started barking inside the house. but especially in the overnight hours.

being that we're the "young" neighbors, and she's well in to her 70s, i noticed yesterday that she wasn't looking so well so i asked if everything was OK. she replied that, yes, everything is fine health wise. she just hasn't slept in months because the dog won't stop barking in the house at night.

How do you put just a web site on mute? I’ll have issues sometimes where I’m playing music through headphones, and then click over to a website with some autoplay content that disables Apple Music or Spotify to play whatever ad.
