Carnell "Cadillac" Williams to practice Wednesday (1 Viewer)

IF (big if) Graham's ankle keeps him out, we may see Caddy active for the Detroit game. Can't ask for a much better debut than that.
That's what I was thinking. Clifton Smith runs hard, but he has put the ball on the ground the 2 games he has played. Unacceptable.

Does Ernest Graham being out for the year change any of the speculation going on in this thread? I would think so, but not being a Buc homer I really can't say for sure.

Fire up the bandwagon!

so is dunn the guy to go after or would caddy be the shark play??
I don't think Caddy will have any significant work for a few more weeks. Dunn show IMO, though if Caddy is eased back in and looks good, he could begin to see more touches around week 14.

I agree. I can't believe Dunn would be available in any leagues, though (in response to the original post by finito)

the audible guys seem to dig askew. i see no askew talk on the board, though, recently. is he perhaps the "shark" pickup over cadillac? i am intrigued.

I would say an Askew pick up would be on par with a Clifton Smith pick up. IMO, Clifton will be used against Det, but if he fumbles (or makes another huge mistake) he's done. That would be 3 consecutive games.Askew will probably get some goal line carries, and a few passes thrown his way.Caddy is the guy to have because his ceiling is much higher than the rest. Askew / Clifton Smith may get carries, and be worth starting, but Caddy has the opprotunity to become a work horse again. JG specifically said "work horse" the other day when talking about Caddy. The question nobody knows is how many carries? Do they ease him in with 5, or does Gruden just keep feeding it to him?

The consensus for Caddy seems to be 5-10 carries next week, with Dunn getting most of the action. Not really big news, as this is what everyone has pretty much predicted.

27 yards on 16 carries

He is pretty rusty, but most of those carries came in the final minutes when it was obvious he was getting the ball. He needs to work on pass protection, and finding he open lanes. First play in he caused Garcia to fumble leading to a Det. TD.

Altogether, it is comforting seeing him get more carries than I expected. He got out there, and got hit. That is a major accomplishment considering the severity of his injury.

What do you think happens next season? That's a crowded backfield when everyone's healthy.

I think we keep all of them and have a RBBC. Dunn only has 1 more year on his contract, and he is old. I forgot how long Graham is signed for. We really have needed 3 RBs for the past few seasons, so you we need to have 3 capable ones. Nobody is making outrageous money, and the Bucs are in great cap shape. I think we keep them all.

Got a TD yesterday, but not as many carries. He got way more yards than he was expected to on the runs he did have. Gruden still feels more comfortable with the ball in Dunn's hands though.

Bucs will need Carnell healthy to go anywhere in the playoffs. Dunn cannot be an every-down back, and shouldn't sniff the field inside the 5-7.

Glad to see Gruden get CW the ball in that situation. Didn't remember seeing him after that though.

I'm guessing with the rain he didn't trust Caddy with the ball like he did Dunn.

Caddy looked better this weekend than he did in detroit. hopefully he keeps getting stronger each week, just in time for the playoffs!

An overlooked play yesterday...Gruden went to Carnell on 4th-and-1...and he converted.

If he stays healthy, CW will be the short-yardage and goal-line guy.

He did more than convert, I believe that's the one where he picked up 8 yards.
